"I am sorry, that must have been hard." Merida said as she looked over at Naruto. "I know how it is to lose family, friends...but I have never lost a mate. Because I have never had one." Her gaze snapped in Constance's direction when she heard the young woman speak before taking off. Constance had watched Merrick falling and then he was gone. She frowned a little before her eyes widened. She could feel something. Something was wrong. "Something's wrong," Constance said as she took off in the direction that Merrick had disappeared. She was moving faster than she ever had before, the wind aiding her. ----- Cassandra looked over at Martha. She was very intuitive. "Perhaps you are right." She looked over at Lorcan. "We should go see what is going on out there. He might have seen something. He was up very high."

Kasumi was doing the same as she saw a trail of dust rise in the distance, noticing slash marks on the trees that Merrick ricocheted off of. She gasped as she stopped, somersaulting from the tree as she saw the vermin assaulting her son. Naruto sighed. "Trust me... you don't forget it, but one thing to remember is that they most likely will want you to move on," he sighed before his eyes widened as Constance and Kasumi both darted off. He noticed the wind picked up from Constance's movements and frowned as he caught the faint scent of blood. Kasumi's eyes widened in shock as the spear hit her son's chest as the nodachi flared with blood red light before fading like mist into nothingness. "Damn... they hit the Hakusui," she muttered through gritted teeth as her pupils became slitted. It was one of the primary locations for the spiritual energy that created the spirit weapons and the only way to restore it was extremely dangerous.

Merrick shifted his weight as one of the stoats thrust his rusty spear at him, his arm flashing down as the stoat snarled about a 'strangebeast attacking innocent beasts' though he wasn't fooled as the spear was deflected off his gauntleted forearm though the blade opened a cut along his left side just below his ribs as he grunted softly. One of the weasels slung the staff at him at high speed before it slammed with a crunch into his unprotected collarbone as the kanji ring on his back flared crimson before flashing as the violet wrapped nodachi hilt materialized over his left shoulder, the blade extending itself in a golden red aura like a living thing. He gasped as the scimitar left a slash from his right hip nearly to his sternum as he shifted a half pace back from the vermin. His gaze rose to become visible to the vermin as his right arm hung useless. He saw the fox move back before the other two just behind him darted forward, both spears stabbing forward. One caught him in the chest as he shifted to evade the other, which left a shallow cut on top of the broken collarbone.

Lorcán tilted his head. "Focus energy through your legs to amplify their strength; think of it like waves in the ocean, to manage the movement," he said before he pushed off sharply, shooting at high speed out of the open window, ignoring Martha's startled look. "What is?!?" Martha said in surprise as she rolled to the window, seeing Lorcan landing on the wall across a near nine foot wide gap before he leaped into the trees outside the Abbey.

Constance arrived in time to see the beasts stab at Merrick. She gasped as she continued to dark forward. The wind blew out from around her, thrusting the ones that were attacking back. It caught them off guard as they rolled back. One wasn't hit, however, and as it lunged towards Merrick, Constance's eyes went pitch black with streaks of red running through them. "I don't think so," she said in a voice that could only be described as terrifying to those it was directed at. She lifted her hands and the beast stopped in mid jump. Only its eyes darted around with surprise and fear. With a flick of her wrist the beast's arm snapped with a sickening crunch. It was then flung back into a tree before crumbling to the ground. Constance stalked forward towards the others, not hearing Merida calling her name. "And they all take off," Merida sighed as she glanced at Naruto. "Let's go see what we can do." She too darted forward. Not near as fast as the others, but still fast enough to see what Constance was capable of doing. Her mouth hanged open in shock for a moment before she got a hold of herself. "Constance! You need to stop!" She moved to step forward but stopped when she felt a hand on her arm. She looked over to see Amelia with Nala next to her. "Dont. You cannot touch her." Amelia said as her head tilted to the side. "Look at the air around her. The wind...it will cut at anything or anyone that comes near. I think only one person will get through to her." -------- "Martha, something is wrong out there. Go get help." Cassandra said as she too leaped from the window, following after Lorcan. She hoped that everyone was okay. She could feel a very strong force not too far off.

Kasumi cocked her head as she heard Constance's voice, but was surprised when Merrick spoke. Naruto's eyes widened as he noticed Merrick's irises were flickering between the deep glowing golden amber of his animal side and the brilliant crimson of his grandfather Sparda's power. He quickly slammed his hands down before sharply raising them as the earth between them and Constance and Merrick rose into a foot thick wall with a groan, dust showering around them.

Merrick spoke through gritted teeth as an aura of deep crimson energy edged with golden flames flickered around him as the wounds began steaming and healing. "It was my own fault, Constance, for startling them; I assumed they were lost and sought to see if they needed help," he said as his voice was a deep rumbling growl as faint threads of purple flickered randomly through the aura. He closed his eyes as the threads of violet grew more visible before his hands clenched into fists as the wounds fully healed. A concussive shockwave of energy rippled from him as for an instant, his hair turned a vibrant glowing indigo as his skin shifted to tightly layered gold and bronze scales though his appearance remained mostly human otherwise as the change flashed and vanished as he dropped to one knee. He noticed the vermin, who weren't unconscious from the combined killing intent from both himself and Constance, were staring at them with pale, ashen faces beneath their dark gray and black fur.

Lorcán glanced back as he landed on the walltop and pushed off fluidly to land amongst the trees in one fluid before he paused, waiting for Cassandra though a small smile flashed over his face as he saw her stumble as she landed, but she made the leap easily. He twisted as he saw the trees shudder, managing to cover his face as a blasted wave of dust and wind shot around and over him. He could sense not one, but two extremely strong powers not far ahead.

Constance stopped moving when she heard Merrick's voice. Her head tilted to the side as she listened to him speak. Slowly her eyes began to fade back to their normal color and a shudder when through her body. Before she could summon any wind to catch her, her legs gave up from underneath her and she slumped to the ground. She really had to learn to control her anger. But it was hard when someone she loved was in danger. All she had been able to think about was protecting Merrick even though she knew he was plenty strong enough to take care of himself. "I..I am sorry," she said softly. "I couldn't control it. Natural instinct of protection I guess..."Merida took a deep breath, stopping herself from yanking her arm away from Amelia's to go to Constance. She knew that the other witch was right. Constance didn't need her. She needed Merrick to let her know that he was okay. It was strange, Constance not needing her so much anymore. They had always been close, but now she had Merrick. It almost made Merida lonely. She gave a small shake of her head, getting rid of the thoughts. ~~~~~~~ Cassandra looked at Lorcan and smiled a little, giving him a nod. She knew that he had seen her stumble upon her landing, but that didn't matter. It had been a long time since she had done a jump like that. She was a little out of practice. Cassandra felt the energy rippling towards them and threw her arms over her face, keeping the dust from getting in her eyes and mouth. There was so much power not too far away from them. "Holy crap," she murmured softly. "What was that?" She said as she slowly lowered her hands.

Kasumi darted around the wall, managing to support Constance enough so she didn't fall against the wall. She glanced up at it and noticed that the wall looked like someone had driven a massive fist into it a few times as there were a few good sized dents and cracks in the wall. "Instincts are helpful, when there is trouble, but sometimes control is just as useful; we Kitsune know extremely well about that, so I can help you with that. We have to constantly control our emotions to remain in human form, otherwise we'd be in half-beast or full-beast form... once a Kitsune hits six or seven tails, their full beast form tends to get much larger, usually leaping from say, the size of a small bus to the size of a small mountain," she said quietly.

Merrick was panting and on one knee where he crouched in a two inch deep crater, his head bowed. Unconsciously, he allowed his tails to ripple and flare out in full form. He failed to notice that they had increased to eleven in total and were a deep silver with a reddish orange tip, much like a silver candle with a flame at the end.

Lorcán cocked his head. "From what little that I've managed to find that is written of Sparda... they have some sort of transformation they can undergo under extreme stress, but I don't know if that's what happened or not," he said carefully. He cocked his head slightly, the clone he'd summoned when he'd leaped from the Abbey to the wall watching what was going on with Merrick and Constance and it was slightly disorienting to him to see through two pairs of eyes. "One of the lesser known talents of my ability... is that when I create clones, is that I can 'see' through their eyes, and Merrick underwent an odd shift in form, but what caused it, I don't know," he said quietly, confusion at the edges of his voice.

Kaosujin Ryu not going to be on as much as I usually am this week...have family in town.. xD ...figured I would let you know Constance looked up at Kasumi, blinking. She smiled a little at the older woman. "Thanks," she said as she leaned against her. She still felt wobbly and weak. She nodded a little as she listened to Kasumi speak. "I really need to learn control. I can't keep doing this." Her gaze went to Merrick and her eyes widened as she saw how many tails he had. "Oh my goodness," she whispered softly. She tried to steady herself on her own two feet to get to Merrick. "Merrick...are you okay?""I hate to admit it," Merida said softly as Kasumi disappeared around the wall. "But sometimes Constance and Merrick scare me. All that power in them. It makes you wonder what else they could possibly do. Their potential is endless."Amelia was silent for a moment. "I don't think there is any need to fear either of them. They are both well grounded young adults. They have family and friends who love them." She knew that just because someone had family and friends who loved them, didn't mean they turned out well. She had seen it too many times before. But Merrick and Constance gave off a different air. An air of peace. ~~~~~~ Cassandra listened to Lorcan and sighed, shaking her head. "Let's get there to see what's going on. I don't like that this kind of power manifested here. This was supposed to be a place where this didn't happen because they were safe."

Alede OOC - I understand; I know what it's like, since I recently had a couple of cousins drop by (I have fifteen of them)
Kasumi smiled faintly before her gaze shifed to Merrick as she inhaled in surprise. He's even with my limit now, she thought with surprise. Naruto tilted his head. "Trust me, I know what it's like to have a massive amount of potential; when I thought I was human, I had an elemental demon merged with me... I later released him after helping him to lose most of the malice within him, though if what Kasumi said was right, it's possible he was resealed simply from the fear of what he is," he sighed.

Merrick opened his eyes to reveal they were their normal deep cerulean-teal color with slight lavender edges to them. He swayed slowly as he rose to his feet. His gaze snapped upward as he heard soft tapping sounds to find Lorcan and Cassandra in the trees, looking down at them. He could feel energy building deep in his abdomen as the large serrated sword materialized in a flicker of golden red light over his shoulder, though there was a noticeable difference to the blade; the hilt was slightly longer and the blade held slight serrations on both edges, but from a distance seemed to have a straight edge until the last few inches that held more noticeable serrations to it while the blade itself was a good three and a half inches longer. It was now a good thirty four inches long while the hilt was seven inches from the tsuba crossguard to the end of the hilt. "I feel like a Badger Lord did a belly flop onto my head, but other than that, I'm just sore as heck," he said quietly.

Lorcán sighed as his gaze shifted to where the sun was starting to set. "I don't like the idea that they're getting so strong yet lack much in the way of controlling this power," he said carefully as he slowly started lengthening his leaps from tree to tree. His eyes widened as he landed on one tree and spotted Merrick.

Constance was relieved to see Merrick stand up. She pulled away from Kasumi and slowly made her way over to her mate. She gently wrapped her arms around his neck, looking up into his face. "Well I am glad that being sore is all that is wrong with you."Merida looked at Naruto from the corner of her from. This was the most they had spoken to each other since they had met. She smirked a little. "Well that was kind of you. Releasing the demon like that." When she moved her head her neck gave a slight popping sound. Cassandra stopped by Lorcan's side, taking in the scene below them. It was like nothing she had ever seen before. She gave her head a small shake. "Control is the first thing we must teach them," she said softly to Lorcan.

Kasumi tilted her head slightly as she watched Constance go to Merrick; she could smell strong pheromones in the air and was fairly certain where it was coming from, namely her son. Naruto chuckled. "That's because while everyone else thought he was a 'demon'... but the truth is that he wasn't a demon at all.... but our father," he said quietly. It was a few days after Hinata had passed away that Ōinari had mentioned the mating marks; he'd been pissed because the fox deity hadn't bothered to mention it at all.

Merrick took a deep breath. "I've felt worse, that's for certain. I'm also feeling.... well," he said quietly before he shrugged slightly, shifting his hips slightly; he knew his body was heavily aroused, though why, he had no clue.

Lorcán nodded slightly. "I think that tree thing may help more than just them, if it's a control exercise," he said thoughtfully.

Constance felt Merrick shift his hips slightly and a small smile came to her face. After the surge of power that went through her, she could feel that she was aroused as well. Maybe it was the effect of the strong magic that they had. "Hmm, I can see that you're feeling well," she said softly so that only he would hear her. Merida turned fully to face Naruto. "How did that happen?" She asked with curiosity. Cassandra nodded a little. "They seem like they are okay now." Her head tilted to the side slightly. "Maybe we should leave them be? Looks like they have plenty of support down there." She had caught sight of Kasumi, Naruto, Merida and Amelia.

Naruto shrugged. "No idea; it's likely that whatever illusion that was used to enrage him initially trapped him in his beast form at least until I found him and 'purified' him of that rage, which wasn't easy," he sighed. Kasumi glanced up, noticing Cassandra and Lorcan above them.

Merrick tilted his head, as he could smell Constance's arousal, which made him shiver slightly. "It'll be an interesting life, if every strong power burst does this... not to mention how we 'play' with that energy," he said quietly, deliberately referring to a certain mutual activity.

Lorcán tilted his head. "It wouldn't hurt," he said thoughtfully as he turned back towards the Abbey, glancing momentarily at the large and battered rock wall and wondering how it had been created.

Constance chuckled softly as she gave Merrick a soft kiss. "It will definitely be interesting if every power surge does this to us. I can barely keep my hands off you as it is." She shrugged a little with a smirk upon her face. "But right now and here isn't the time...we have too many people around us.""Well, at least you were able to help him." Merida said as she looked up, seeing Cassandra and Lorcan up above them. She smiled and waved back to Cassandra. Cassandra smiled slightly and waved to Merida. When the other coven leader waved back she turned back to Lorcan. "Let's go find room and put our stuff there. Not that I carried much with me, but you can put the stuff away that you brought."

Merrick cocked an eyebrow as he lightly massaged Constance's shoulders when she kissed him then retreated. "Who's to say we can't find somewhere... private?" he said quietly with amusement.

Lorcán shrugged his shoulders, shifting his weight. He had most of his stuff prepared already, but didn't mind spending time with Cassandra at all.

Constance grinned at Merrick, her head tilted to the side. "Well, we could always do that. Think they would mind if we disappeared for a little while?" She raised an eyebrow slightly. Merida chuckled softly and nodded her head. "I have known a few people like that."~~ Cassandra moved away from the scene with Lorcan. Her mind was still whirling with the power that Merrick and Constance had. She wondered if Ambrosius and his wife had any idea their daughter would be as strong as she was.
