 JOUSTIN' Melas loved working with Jericho Jr, he only wished it could last forever. "Hey, what d'ya say you come back to Amity with me, we can roam the forest there, huh? whatd'ya say?" he offered the dragon mount, but it shook its head and kept on moving. Melas accepted the response for now, it was still an early bond between them. The hound/dragon friendship could only grow from here. Silence seemed to be working! Kithka steadily moved, her wrinkled head bobbing slightly with each step. Mort smiled further, adjusting his lance as quietly as he could. It wasn't the excitement of riding oversized one-eyed corgis, but some things didn't need to be. It was about bonding after all, not winning or being the fastest.

And then, just as things were getting better, his turtle became a little too interested in a clump of grass to the side of the track and began to move towards it. Lips tight, the zomboil tried to direct her wordlessly back on the path with his lance, hoping his encouragement wouldn't incur another bout of insolence.

JOUSTIN' Progress was nice, but melas had to grit his teeth after the dragon stopped to let nature do its thing. "Did yah really have'tuh mark yer territory now huh?" melas whined at beast, which roared back at him in reply.
touch-y~ Jericho JR seemed to be getting into a hissy fit for the moment, so the hound kept silent and let it do its own thing for a bit and cool off. Kithka seemed to be getting a little more used to his presence, meat eater or not. The lance pointing eventually got her back on track, even to do her little lope again. For a moment Mort felt like a death knight again, brandishing his weapon proudly as he struck an invisible opponent in passing. Gentle pats on the turtle's shell were given as a reward.

The zomboil's method seemed to be working spectacularly now! Kithka, feeling encouraged, clacked her bearish mouth and strode forward proudly, while Mort held his lance aloft with a boyish grin. It was almost a promenade to a parade, and in his mind the invisible crowds cheered.

JOUSTIN' maybe it was a nail that got stuck in his paw that got removed, But jericho Jr was back to how he was before the dragon temper tantrum. Melas was not going to question it, he was just enjoying the ride and charging the lance for the strike. And then poor Kithka felt tuckered out and slowed back down to a crawl. Mort, feeling her sympathy all too well (as the few times he'd tried Speed Boost, it had helped but made him tire quickly) and patted her shell to convey that notion as best he could. JOUSTIN' The track seemed longer than Melas expected, and possibly more than Jericho JR did too. the pace dropped quickly as the hound began to give the young beast another soothing rub. It was still a whelp afterall, and the poor thing must have been getting tired. "Yuh gonna be alright?' he asked it hesitantly. being big enough to me a mount himself, he knew how it felt to be overworked. but the dragon continued on, no panting but the occasional sniff at the ground make the student wonder. He certainly couldn't imagine how hard it would be to carry around something like this impressive shell a lll your life, let alone with a boil atop it, skin and bones or not. While the turtle continued to inch forward at her own pace (apparently she'd taken his unspoken words to heart), Mort let his mind drift. Resting had helped, sure, but his body was unused to staying so still for so long - the haze-dreams had come in and out, still being evoked even when awake. How did living beings do it, he wondered. How did they deal with that everyday?
Well then again, living beings didn't have to worry about rigor mortis from staying still for so long . . .
