[A Scheduled Visit]

"Excellent. That's a handy spell."
Grants complimented while swiftly passing through the narrow passageway. The dim, dank, halls were not the greatest place for combat if the two were attacked. So Grants was rather grateful that Arc had known "Hikari". The thought of learning supportive spells like that had crossed the General's mind but that wasn't quite his style. So stepping over another guard, Grants would move ahead and keep his guard up. There was no telling who or what they'd encounter down here.

"I wouldn't have imagined a place like this would be under the Capital Cathedral. Makes me wonder what other secrets are being kept..."
Grants mused, sharing a portion of his concern aloud. He'd listen carefully to the distant flow of water and what sounded like several voices. The voice and energy signal was faint but Grants was starting to think he could sense Lucas and a couple of his Vanguards nearby. Was that possible? That thought sprouted more questions that would hopefully be answered soon.

The spell wasnt a supportive spell per-say but the general didnt need to know the ins and outs of his abilities. The spell was instead an offensive spell which could only be ended by command or by discharging it in a strike. At any rate the heavenly energy would provide more than enough light as they continued on into the tunnels following a route the general seemed to have chosen, as if he was drawn to something. It was possible the general was a sensory type, or sub type specialized in finding things from their energy. At any rate would hold the blade up and out in a comfortable position providing their light source. He let the generals surprise at the existence of the tunnels go as he was acting the guard on duty, silent and observant for the moment.

Instinct told him that he was wading into the heart of a problem that was much larger than he himself was, meanwhile it felt as though the general had always had a certain feel about him that he knew more than he was letting on. Choosing a slight change given the cramped nature of his surroundings Arc would draw his wakizashi with his free hand and transfer the spell from one blade to the other causing it to dimn slightly and the ring of light to grow smaller before the light once again flared gold and bright.

That done he sheathed the now dark nodaichi opting to wield his short sword for the duration of this expedition through the tunnels. Arc had a secret something he had been working on for a while other than his proficiency with a weapon not included in his set he was proficient in the art of nitoken or wielding both pairs of a standard daisho simultaneously.

[Between the Lines]

"Huh?"
Makenzie whipped her head around at the Seraph, admittedly unaware that there were others paying attention to her pursuit. Confident, entrapping green eyes started blankly at the woman before Makenzie arched her brow and gave her a coy smirk. Although the lightning storm was sweeping in fast, Makenzie took no more time to address the Seraph before her.

"You're that Choir woman, ah, Lissianna was it? Fancy seeing you here!"
Performing a rather sloppy curtsy, Makenzie kept her eyes fixed on Lissianna. There was something about this Council Member's demeanor that was a touch disrespectful. However, Makenzie wouldn't hesitate to point to the nearby safe house and get Lissianna out of the engulfing clouds. "C'mon, let's not stay out here."

Swiftly making her way into the safe house, Makenzie would pace around the room, aggravated that she could not pursue Naya any further. She was a daring woman but she was not foolish. Her nature was cunning and fiery at times, her reputation on the Council known as a woman who took things into her own hands. "I'm surprised to see the Director of the Choir around here. Going to look for a song book? Heh, well if you're up for it I have no problems with you accompanying me. That woman I was chasing owes the Council some answers. We're pretty sure she murdered a few guards several years back and-Oh! I probably shouldn't talk about this so openly..."

Chuckling, Makenzie rested her hands on the handles of her short swords, now standing to face Lissianna. Her red cloak flowed loosely in the restless wind. Makenzie's gaze could pierce through stone if it could but she was genuinely curious as to why Lissianna was doing some traveling. Not many Seraphs traveled so often. At least not without good cause. Although the Councilwoman supposed that it didn't really matter at the moment. She had heard some unsettling things about Lissianna but nothing that would make Makenzie too suspicious. Besides, the Scarlet Ember could use some company anyway.

"I suppose you can help me. I'm looking for a book."

[Trouble Comes In All Shapes and Sizes]

Phobos was rather daring to break into the truck's freight with the amount of people running about. However it was sometimes best to do things out in the open where it would go overlooked if people were busy. So with a clang of metal and a scrape of claws against steel, Phobos easily unlocked the truck and lifted open the door. He would easily see about twelve steel crates that were about seven feet tall and about the same width. These crates were marked with a symbol that looked liked a cane with two angelic looking wings to each side. The letter "R" was etched into each box as well.

The shipment was from the town over, Rosewood. However it's contents were still unknown. If Phobos tried to force his way into the crates he would find that his claws would scratch at an unnaturally durable metal surface. Although the steel crates didn't seem to be destructible there had to be a method of opening the crates within the warehouse. Unfortunately Phobos wouldn't have the luxury to search for it right now.

"I'm going to guess that you're not employed here."
A man made himself known from the shadows and stood before Phobos. Although the warehouse workers seemed to be too busy to notice their freight was being vandalized, the cargo itself had some security! "The door's that-a-way. Get out of here..."

This guy smirked and leaned against the side of the truck. For someone who was looking after these strange crates he sure was taking his job lightly. Plus it didn't look like he was armed or was wielding any weapons! The man's green eyes simply watched Phobos, almost amused that someone would try and break into the truck. Just how would this sudden encounter turn out?

Lissianna stiffened her spine and held back her tongue when the woman seemed to refer to her as a simple choir woman, as if it were something beneath her notice. Her soft sea green eyes swept over her disrespectful demeanor, narrowing just a fraction of an inch, the color churning like the storm brewing around them. But that didn't stop Lissianna from following in Makenzie's steps out of the storm to the safe house beyond her pointing finger.

The dark heavy clouds had started to down pour in earnest, lightning racing with the cacophony of thunder in the air. Shutting the door to the rumbling storm left Lissianna with a very sparse room and a pacing Makenzie. The woman's body was tense, but her movements quick and sure footed. She exuded confidence, but Lissianna wasn't buying into it, she reminded her of a panther trapped in a cage and wondering how to escape, which left her guessing when she would strike.

She had her reasons to travel to the infamous libraries of Anani, instead of revealing them she let her believe she was looking for a 'song book' as Makenzie so arrogantly put it. Listening with half an ear, she had take a relaxed position against the wall letting Makenzie spill her information like a torrential downpour. Hearing about the woman she had been a little off putting, the woman she had seen so recklessly fleeing the scene seemed to spell disaster. She wondered even now if she had made it to Anani, or smeared her life blood on the craggy cliffs surrounding the bridge in this fowl storm. The thought brought a sense of foreboding and a heaviness settled in Lissianna's chest, hoping to never encounter such a reckless character. Even the perfectionist, Lissianna hungered for control, to ever lose control was a ludicrous and impossible feat in her mind.

Lissianna was a little put out, not visibly, when Makenzie had closed up like a tomb on her troubles, Lissianna was holding one of her wings between her hands, brushing her fingers through the tops of them, plucking the ones that she was molting, dropping them to the ground in a neat tidy pile. "I would love to help you," Lissianna offered sweetly, her smile turning up sweetly transforming her features to that of an angelic face, her eyes lighting up with a kindness many had attributed to her over the years. "It would be my angelic duty to help those in need. What book do you need finding? And, why have you not been able to find it yourself?" As council member she could find anything easily, and even send someone in her stead. What was so dire that she would go in person. Her eyes lit up with intrigue as she smoothed her feathers in perfect flat rows again. Releasing her wing, which fluttered to her side she pushed off the wall and walked to Makenzie's side as she pushed the image of a caged panther out of her thoughts.

The floor boards creaked with Lissianna's movements, her six angelic wings still dripping with moisture as she tucked them closely along her spine in a way to make her appear smaller than she was, as if she wasn't a threat, or someone to ever feel threatened by. When she stood beside Makenzie, a full head shorter she had to look upwards at her. Her sea foam eyes appearing innocent and kind. "And if there is anything else I can help you with?" She asked as her hands folded neatly in front of her. "Never hesitate to ask."

☩ Unfortunately for Raven, Cynthia knew her speed, she had seen her emphasis, her reliance on it in battle. She wagered that was perhaps Raven's biggest tool in a fight, and so she would adjust her strategy accordingly. She couldn't hope to match her speed, so she would need to rely on out thinking her. A speed-user's greatest flaw was that it usually only took one or two solid hits to beat them - if you could land a hit to begin with. To keep your speed you had to forgo typical armors that would slow you down, and you relied solely on dodges and counters and the like. So far, though...Raven's movements had already been read and a two-in-one retaliation was coming. ☩

☩ Raven may have been fast, but Cynthia's strike was already in motion, and so by the time Raven came into contact with her legs, her 360 degree spin had been all but finished. Cynthia heaved her right arm as Raven came into contact with her, the Cross leaving her grip and launching out directly at Lucas! ☩

☩ Cynthia figured it was better to let Raven come to her, instead of wasting energy trying to catch up to her. Rolling with the punches might be a risky way to go, but Cynthia bet she could take more of a beating than Raven since she was a strength fighter. For now it could pay off, but she would readily adapt to any situation thrown at her. Therefore, her legs were swept off the ground, and right arm continued in its path of motion, only serving to bend, bringing Cynthia's fist back towards herself. She twisted a quarter turn as she fell to land on Raven, her right elbow sticking out and swung from right-to-left in anticipation to knock Raven in the jaw - should she be face up. If she was face down the elbow would nail her in the back of the head. ☩

The ℜ 𝖊 𝖛 𝖊 𝖓 𝖆 𝖓 𝖙 Guardian
"And as the Ascended One danced into Heaven, the Revenant Guardian returned..."

Raven smirked triumphantly as they rolled, before too long Cynthia was on top of her. What the woman did not count on, was that Raven's initial attack was a distraction from the real surprise: The massive body of a White Siberian Tiger slammed into Cynthia hard enough to throw her right off of Raven. The Daemon's entire form burst into a white-hot flame that closely resembled Corvinus' own ability to wield fire. Raven had begun to rub at the bruise that would form along the lower mandible, but her concentration was needed elsewhere.

Her entire concentration had shifted to the Cross, its image etched into her mind, and her will encroaching upon it, trying to drag it back and short-come its trajector. It would not be enough to stop it from being near, an electrical charge flaring as it crossed the brilliant surge of energy. The disruption was minimal, the second line flaring to life from the swirl of wind to Raven's ribbons of water dancing around in the air.

Seraph eased from Cynthia, steam hissing from the black and white of his pelt as the flames dispersed, and from the charred patches of cloth and the heat from her armor. His bright amber eyes matched the fierceness of his owner, as if taunting Cynthia to try and out-wit the two of them again. The large white Tiger paced restlessly around Raven, a deep rumble in his throat, and unnerving gaze locked onto the Guardian of the Virtue.

<"Wake up, Cynthia. You're going to find yourself hurt worse than you were before. This has to be done. We need this virtue before it falls to the Sins.">

"LIGHT, DUCK!!"

Wyndom saw the Cross coming and knew he couldn't stop it. He whipped his hands up in the air as a mighty gust of wind launched itself up from the ground, redirecting the Cross upwards a bit, but he wasn't sure if it was enough to completely go over Lucas's head - so better safe than sorry.

"We don't have time for this, Raven - I'm stepping in."

Wyndom reached into his armor, grabbing one of his new stakes and holding it in a reverse grip as lightning lanced up and down the bladed section of the weapon, stopping at the handle where Wyndom held it. He advanced forward, taking his spot on the opposite side of Cynthia from Raven. He needed to watch her closely - she seemed to be a strength fighter.

"OOMPH!"

☩ Cynthia's body was smashed into from the side, ripping her away from Raven. Claws screeched against her armor as the two hit the ground. Cynthia's own fingers clutched at the beasts hide, digging into its skin to procure a firm purchase before literally hefting the massive tiger off of herself and through the air a good 10 feet - possibly the first time Seraph had been manhandled. ☩

☩ Cynthia's strength was one to be reckoned with, and she certainly wasn't holding back. The scent of burnt hair lingered about her as the tiger's flaming body ignited parts of the hair whipping around her face as they rolled, only to be put out against as they were smothered into the ground, never having time to catch for more than an instant. Cynthia's hands were also effected, but she would continue to play with fire if need be, it wasn't like she held onto Seraph for a long amount of time, so the burns were very minimal. ☩

☩ As for the Cross, once it was re-directed, whether it hit Lucas or not, Cynthia's voice could be heard ringing through the cavern. ☩

"Heaven's Majesty!"

☩ Raven's words went unheard as her eyes flared a bright orange in the darkened cavern, and suddenly an even brighter glow appeared from behind Lucas, the Cross! It was being summoned by its master, and so it lurched forward, springing off the ground and into the air. In a moment it would land behind her, in between her and Wyndom. ☩

Lucas stumbled back, grunting in annoyance that he couldn't properly move himself. He was surprised that Cynthia had attacked him but it would make sense to take out the weaker ones first. Of course Raven and Wyndom had done their best to keep the cross from violently crushing Lucas' face in but the Imperfect One would have to tumble backward to fully dodge. The Cross would fly over his head and crash into the wall behind him with an earth shaking impact.

Like a flash of lightning, Avery had seen his place in the new combat situation, and had launched himself through the air and actually managed to intercept the cross mid flight! Grasping onto the hefty weapon - only a few nano seconds from intercepting Cynthia - she would most likely be the only one actually able to realize he was there, and that was if she wasn't entirely distracted by all that was going on around her as it was.

As soon as Avery was within striking distance his body would literally jerk and strike like that of a snake. The ectoplasm would surge through his body and transmit all the force to his legs, which threatened to smash into Cynthia - it'd be equivalent to being kicked by a horse.

Kira Skyra

Roy fell silent with Kira's question. Roy himself knew he was far beyond anything that was indeed his father. The difference in power was incredible. "I can not use Chaos Energy." Roy also had to bring himself to admit that he had no way of dealing with it. "I could never bring myself to use such a destructive force. I don't believe in that sort of power because I believe in something greater." Said Roy smiling. He had a goal and he was fairly confident that he could achieve it. Something that his mother believe in.... something that he now believes in.

They had finally arrived at the arena where Oni was. Roy was okay with leading the way, what kind of former Leader of Hell would he be if he didn't. He'd nod at Kira and lead the way, hoping that Kira did have his back but regardless he was ready to deal with whatever the situation called for.

Phobos, the Ebon Sun
User Image

Phobos observes the dozen crates, examining each with care, but he could get nothing out of it. Scratching the creates with his claws, to experiment to see if he could attempt another break in, but this time it seems they were more secured and trying to take one of boxes seemed pointless as well. But what got his most attention was the security guarding the crates. He was unarmed and unafraid. Normally Phobos would quickly dispatch any witness, normally. Having a strange suspicion about him, he decided it would be best to take his next moves slowly, well try to at least.

"I thank you for stating the obvious, and I can see where the door is at. Though I must say my business here is not concluded, therefore you will have to excuse my trespassing."

Phobos did have a body of a child, but it did not mean he was any less dangerous, nor did it mean he could let his guard down. As he spoke, he carefully monitored the guard, expecting to see some sort of action in the next moment, and that he could be ready to counter strike, but it would depend on how the situation would further evolve.

Inferno crossed his arms in front of him and scuffed at Lucas' comment. Leaving him to fight Raphael forever was a fate worst than death. Neither or the two could kill one another. An endless battle where there is only one winner, time. Inferno turned to the one named Raven, seeing her bring his flames to life. He allowed it to happen to see what this new generation of warrior were capable of. Lucas' vanguards that is. It brought back memories of most of Inferno's fights. Things where different back then. Regardless, Inferno was one who was selfish and only believed in self-empowerment. Seeing the vanguards work together brought back a memory of when Lucas and him teamed up.

Snapping back to the current situation, Inferno stood back and watched. seeing Lucas almost get hit with a cross amused Inferno. It was ironic to be honest that an angel would be the target of such a weapon. "Don't die on me yet, that would break my heart." Said Inferno chuckling a bit as he raising his hand over his chest. Inferno knew Lucas was capable of handling himself but he had a deal to with the Prize Fighter. Which meant, if by some chance Cynthia manage to get through the Vanguards and he couldn't defend himself Inferno would step in. He was known for being heavy on offense as much as defense.
