Kilik brought his thumb to his lip and bit down on the nail, growling slightly. Using the water as a shield...that was an impressive tactic. However, that wall of water wasn't solid and Treecko could bust through it easily. She's really improved. I really shouldn't have taken her as lightly as I have... Uncrossing his arms, Kilik shrugged. "Alright, Robin. I'm going to apologize before I continue," he said, putting a hand into his pocket. "You've really grown as a trainer and I must say, Black*Star is one of the most impressive young Pokemon that I've had the fortune of battling. I had predicted a win," he put a hand on the back of his neck and started to laugh heartily, instead of his usual cocky laugh, "but I think I'll have to dumb down that prediction to a mere tie. And a tie is better than a loss, for both of us." He closed his eyes as he tried to think of a way out of this. He thought back to when he was training with Koga. The ninja had him learn and develop techniques with his Pokemon, but Treecko had unfortunately not been around during that time, and as such, he truly had to think on his feet. Yet he could still hear those words to this day...

"Kilik," he said quietly, "As young as you are, you're a genius when it comes to the art of battle. Even when you're weakened, and vulnerable to an attack, you bluff and make yourself appear eager to go on. To gain the advantage, you'll put yourself at a disadvantage." The man placed a firm hand on the boy's shoulder, "Mentally, you're nearly impossible to beat! I've never met a trainer as difficult to read as you!" Koga laughed proudly, "You think of every concivable strategy... and with some training, you'll reach new heights as a trainer!"

The boy tapped his foot. Every concivable strategy? he thought, I've been slipping...I make my movements too obvious. Once I make it to Sinnoh, he bit harder on his thumb, I'm going to have to do some intense training. But in this situation, he couldn't think of a way out. If he were to attack head on, that Totodile would just shoot up a barrier of water again, and nullify Treecko's attack. He clenched his fist. This was really bugging him. He growled slightly. If he could get through that barrier...Wait! He can! The water isn't a solid barrier! "Treecko!" Kilik barked, swinging his arm forward, "Run straight at Black*Star! Don't stop, even for that water shield, got it?" he nodded at her, "And when you get through, slam him with a point blank Absorb!" Treecko nodded and ran straight forward. Even if he didn't bring up that shield, he was still gonna get a smack in the face with Absorb. She jumped forward, the green bubbles hanging just on the tip of her lips, ready to go the moment she got close enough.

At hearing Kiliks words Robin couldn't help a squeal of delight from escaping her at the complement. Ok so maybe it ruined her appearance of being all confident or something but she didn't really care. Kilik was complementing her? He was such a great trainer and he said she had done a good job! Wow this was like, the best day ever! Grabbing onto Luffy's tail hands and the two danced around happily for a second before focusing back onto the battle. They looked back just in time to hear Kilik give out his orders and to see Treeko take off towards Black*Star and burst through the water. "Oh no Kimosabi! Your in our house now!" Robin raised her fist and preformed some weird little karate move that didn't really mean anything.

Black*Star seemed to agree with Robin's statement as he grinned not even backing down as the other pokemon charged forward with its attack all charged up. Waiting til the Treeko got close enough Black*Star raised his arm back and when the Treeko connected its attack Black*Stars arm slammed forward sharp claws digging right into the other pokemon's gut. Grinning Black*Star was unable to stop the slight wince of pain as his body started to fail him. Still the grass pokemon did not yet know true suffering and he could not give up until then, not until he had proved how awesome he was! Growling Black*Star ignored the pain lancing through his body before he swung his tail around and smashed it against the Treeko sending the other out of his little star. The effort of the attack though had Black*Star reeling as he stumbled around a bit. Ok so maybe he was super tough but no matter how tough he was the stupid other starter's lame attacks were starting to get to him. Of course any other Totodile would have fallen long ago, Black*Star was just to stubborn to let go.

Cynthia just smiled at Dante's comment about him not being a great fisherman. "Well, that's what practice is for," she said, finding herself a place to sit where she would be out of the way. She watched curiously as Dante carefully secured a length of fishing line to the horn of his young Heracross, finishing the job by adding a lure on the end of it. That's pretty clever, she thought, wondering just what the two of them would fish up as they threw their lines in the water. A few of the nearby fishermen were giving them odd looks, but those were quickly deterred by a warm smile from the Champion, and soon the more experienced fishermen had moved closer to Dante and Hera and were offering words of advice and encouragement.

It didn't take very long for Jaeshan and his Pokemon to arrive in Saffron City, and the first thing the trainer did was find a nice restaurant that would cater to Pokemon as well as humans. He'd ordered a nice size lunch for all of them, though he was a little surprised when Shelgon, Kakuna, and Metang showed no interest in eating. Okay, well he wasn't surprised to see that Shelgon wasn't eating, as she rarely did, but the other two? After a bit of prodding, however, he did manage to get them all to eat a little bit, which Jae figured was good enough for now. As he went about recalling his team he couldn't help but notice that both Squirtle and Kakuna seemed to be a bit energetic, perhaps a little more so than usual. Hmm, maybe a little bit of training is in order before we head out, he thought, figuring the two were close enough in experience to battle one another, for the sake of practice, at least.

((kinda super short but I wanted to get something done, at the very least....))

The redhead watched his childhood friend until she was out of sight, and only did then he turn and start walking away as well, not entirely sure where he was going now. Keegan remembered well what had happened that day, after the incident with Flannery, and he hadn't exactly walked away calmly. He'd practically run back home, with a young Helios on his heels, and upon arriving had barricaded himself inside his room, too ashamed to show his face to even his family. Once he'd gotten over his initial embarrassment he broke off all contact with Flannery, ignoring her phone calls or visits, and he even stopped going over to the gym, as well, and at that point he had been certain that he was destined to be alone. His friendship with Mike had long since crumbled due to the incident with Team Magma, and now he couldn't even bear to look at Flannery anymore. It was shortly after all this that he had decided to leave home, with or without his parents' blessing.

"I guess that day was important in the long run," he mumbled to himself as he wandered aimlessly down an empty street. "Too bad I didn't see it then." He chuckled quietly and looked up at the sky. Large white clouds were drifting by overhead, only enhancing the deep violet of the sky as the sun continued its journey behind the horizon. One cloud in particular stood out among the others, as it looked as though it had been sculpted and shaped until it closely resembled a Pikachu, though the more he looked at it the more it reminded him of Shocker, before she'd become a Raichu. He smiled, and closed his eyes. "If that hadn't happened, I wouldn't have left home when I did, and I probably wouldn't have met Kasiya, or Jaeshan, or Ryka, or anyone..."

Aha, so that's it, Miharu thought, the hint of a devious smile appearing at the corners of her mouth. If Machoke gets hit before he can launch his Focus Punch, he'll flinch! Aska is much quicker than Machoke too, so we should be able to stop Focus Punch every time. The Pidgeotto seemed to have understood what was happening as well, for this time there was no fist flying at her, ready to strike her down. "Use Agility again," Miharu called. "You'll need to be at your fastest!" Aska trilled loudly as she sped forward, feeling her joints and muscles loosen and flex. Again, her speed increased dramatically, and at this point she felt like she couldn't lose.

"So you've figured out how to stop Focus Punch," Chuck laughed, not at all surprised as it was relatively easy, "but don't think that's the only trick up our sleeves! Machoke, Focus Energy! It's time to get serious!" Machoke narrowed his eyes as he flexed his own muscles, a ripple of energy encompassing his entire form as a surge of adrenaline rushed through his body. He was ready to pummel that cheeky bird into oblivion! Only, he wasn't sure which attack his master would choose, but he knew that he would enjoy it either way.

"Pidgeot," Jaden said, though he was sure Crenu really wasn't interested in what Pokemon he'd given the nurse for treatment. "We should get out of the way, at the very least," he added, adjusting his cap and putting his hands in his pockets before heading towards the door. 'Besides, I think I've seen enough now. This Crenu fellow seems alright, and Riza really likes him.' He smiled, though he knew he wouldn't be able to stop worrying entirely.

Riza had smiled a little bit when her older brother mentioned his Pidgeot, but she didn't say anything about it. The single time she'd ridden on the powerful bird's back had been more than enough to show her that he'd done well capturing it and raising it, and she could only hope to have her Pokemon reach the same level of power as her brothers. She looked to Crenu and smiled. She also wanted to be stronger for him, as she knew he was very intolerant of weakness. If anything, proving her strengths to him would be the first thing on her agenda. 'The last thing I want to do is make him feel like I'm holding him back because I'm too weak,' she thought as they all began to make their way toward the door and out of the pokecenter. 'I'll get stronger, and I'll show everyone that I'm just as good a trainer as everyone else.'

"So if there are contests happening in Kanto, where would the next one be?" she asked curiously once they'd made it outside. It was still very nice outside, and Riza couldn't help but notice that she felt more eager than ever to train her Pokemon, and herself as well.

"Well," the girl said, having introduced herself as Cara, "I got this from my dad before I left home on my journey. It's the hm disc for Rock Smash," she said, bringing the case out for Katie to see. "It gives a Pokemon the power to break through rocks, like those ones there. The thing is, Shinxie is my only Pokemon and she can't learn Rock smash, but even if she could I couldn't use it because you need the badge from Oreburgh to use it outside of battle."

Katie nodded knowingly at Cara's explanation, impressed. It sounded like one of the lessons they'd taught at the trainer's school in Jubilife. "Well, I have a Pokemon that can learn Rock Smash, and I have the Coal Badge, so how about you let me borrow your hm, I teach it to my Pokemon, and we can go and get your Shinx back? Sound like a plan?" she asked, standing up and brushing the dust from her knees and skirt.

Cara blinked, eyes wide surprise, but nodded. "Okay, since you can use an hm disc as many times as you want. Here," she said, handing it to Katie, who was already in the process of releasing Genki. She was pretty sure Kord could have learned it too, but she thought that this challenge might be better suited for the more experienced Monferno. Katie carefully removed the disc from its case and held it up for Genki to see. Having seen Katie teach Steel Wing to that annoying Staravia he already knew what was coming, and he closed his eyes as she touched the disc up against his forehead.

Kasiya glanced towards the news reporter that Serenity had indicated, as well as Sasha's blue-haired friend. She knew there was a very little chance that Sasha would turn down the chance to be on television, and she stepped back a bit, aware of just how close Sere seemed to be staying to her. "Go ahead, Sasha," she said, grinning. "Just come back here when you're done, I don't think we'll be going anywhere," she added with a light shrug. She studied the small pool they were standing by, though it could hardly be called that, it was more like a large puddle. It was only waist deep on some of the people who were splashing around and enjoying it, and Kasiya couldn't help but think that having a pool on board a ship, regardless of the size, was a tad redundant. She plopped down on one of the chairs, and sighed heavily.

"Thanks," she said, smiling at Serenity. "I bet he just changed his mind at the last minute, and when the boat started moving, he ended up getting seasick. He didn't handle it so well the last time we were on a ship, either," she added, feeling a bit sorry for the redhead. I hope he's able to sleep it off, she thought as a few of the trainers nearby had released some of their Pokemon, namely Water-types, to splash around in the water. Kasiya quickly recognized a Staryu, a Psyduck, a Wooper, an Azumarill and also a pair of Surskit, both of which zipped around the surface of the water with amazing elegance. "Hey, we should let Levi and George out too," she said, eagerly snatching up the Marshtomp's Pokeball and releasing her. "I bet they'll love this!" Leviathan stretched and yawned as she was released, looking at the dinky little wading pool with dismay. Her fins quivered and she soon realized they were out at sea, and this seemed to energize her as she jumped into the pool, waving hello to her fellow Water-types.

Kasiya smiled as she watched Levi introduce herself to the other Pokemon, and leaned back in her chair a bit. After a moment or so of hesitation she released Rosemary as well, though the Bayleef had no interest in swimming whatsoever. "Just relax here with me," she said, giving the Leaf Pokemon a one-armed hug. Rosemary smiled and nodded, pulling up a nearby chair and setting it up right next to Kasiya's. She climbed up into it and curled up, allowing her head to rest on her trainer's stomach. Warm sun, cooling breezes. Yes, she could get used to this!

Jaeshan had spent the next while heading north, keeping up a quick pace until he had made it out of the city limits. He still had quite a ways to go before he would reach Cerulean City, but for now that was all right. He wanted to get a bit of training in for his two newest Pokemon while they were up for it, and it didn't take him long to find a nice, vacant area for the training to take place. "Okay you two, are you ready for some practice?" he asked as he released the two of them from their Pokeballs. Squirtle nodded eagerly, clapping his hands together while Kakuna hopped up and down on the spot, clearly ready for some training. He knew he didn't have much longer to spend in this cocoon, and he would be glad when this stage was over. It was no fun being immobile. Jaeshan positioned the two across from one another, wondering how he should proceed with this training session. Squirtle had many more moves to choose from and could move around freely, while it was just the opposite for Kakuna. "Okay, so what now?" he mumbled, unaware that both his Pokemon were looking at him expectantly.

"They could battle against a couple of my Pokemon," came a voice from behind him, and Jaeshan turned to see a pretty girl with red hair, who was perhaps a year or so younger than he was. "I've got a couple of young Pokemon myself, and I think they both could use a bit of a workout. What do you say?"

Jaeshan looked over at Kakuna and Squirtle, and smiled. "Sure, that sounds a lot better than what I had planned," he said, nodding. "By the way, my name is Jaeshan."

"Eliza," the pretty girl said, giving a slight curtsy. "Maybe when the little ones are done, we can bring out our stronger Pokemon," she added, a bit of a devious smile on her face. Jaeshan nodded, and the two squared off, Jaeshan's Pokemon already out and ready for battle. Eliza took two Pokeballs from her bag and tossed them. "Let's go!"

Eliza's two Pokeballs landed, and her two young Pokemon appeared before her, a Chikorita and an Aipom. Both were very energetic looking, the Aipom in particular. "Are you ladies ready for this?" Eliza asked, looking down at her two Pokemon. They both nodded.

Jaeshan smiled at the sight of the two of them. They reminded him of his friends' Pokemon, the Aipom especially. It was cute, but he doubted it was anything like Luffy. No Pokemon could ever be like Luffy. "Okay guys, get ready," he told the two of them, especially wary of the Chikorita due to the advantage it held over Squirtle, though the fact that he knew Ice Beam seemed to help the odds a little. And the fact that Kakuna's moves are limited, as well as his mobility puts us at a disadvantage as well, Jaeshan thought with a small frown.

Eliza seemed to have already picked up on this and would be the first to give her commands, quite eager to get the battle underway. "Razor Leaf and Scratch attacks! Go!" she called, pointing at Squirtle. The Chikorita reared back its head and swung its leaf, sending a volley of leaves at its foes. The Aipom, having let her teammate go first, went rushing behind the leaves, her long tail poised to strike.

"Withdraw and Harden," Jaeshan shouted quickly, not surprised that Eliza had chosen to lead off with a Grass-type move. It could be quite damaging to Squirtle, but not so much for Kakuna. Squirtle vanished within his hard shell, just in time for the leaves to ricochet off his body, leaving small marks where they had struck. Kakuna didn't even flinch as he hardened his own shell, the leaves bouncing off harmlessly. What wasn't harmless, however, was the Aipom swinging her tail at the immobile cocoon Pokemon. Had he not just increased his defenses it could have hurt a lot more than it did, and he hobbled back a bit, unsure of what to do.

"Pigeot, interesting." The other common bird of the Kanto region. Crenu was actually really interested in Jaden's pokemon, if this was a strong trainer as Ken had said then knowing about his pokemon styles techniques etc. were important to understanding his power. Always know a potential opponent, it was something Crenu went by. But thinking about Jaden's Pigeot he couldn't help but think about the sound of wings he heard before entering the center. It was more than likely that his Pigeot knew Fly. "Ah, that's right. I finally have a pokemon to teach that to." Crenu said suddenly as they exited the center, turning his attention back to Riza who was smiling at him for some reason. He still didn't understand this relationship thing or what he and Riza had, he just knew that he was starting to enjoy her company and that she seemed happier since he told her he liked her. Her smiling didn't annoy him like other people's smiling did, but that was an anomaly he'd figure out later. "I don't know. We'll have to ask Ken if he knows, but we should probably head to the nearest contest hall." As Crenu spoke he reached for the last ball on his best and released Spearow once they were outside. The gold colored flying type coming out with more sparkle than usual, standing up right with his head up in the air trying to look as regal as he could. Crenu just looked at the proud pokemon with a raised eyebrow, reaching into his bag searching for his TM case. Once he found it he placed his latest TM in the electric type section and pulled out his only HM. "Get over here Spearow, I've got a gift for you." Smirking a bit as Crenu was finally going to be able to use his father's old HM Crenu held it out waiting for Spearow to do as he was told, and it didn't take long for the Tiny Bird Pokemon to fly up hovering in place in front of Crenu waiting for him to use the item. The disk started to glow and seemed to spin even as Crenu pressed it to Spearow's crest as it passed on it's knowledge but instead of crumbling like regular TMs the Fly HM just went back to it's normal look. "Go on Spearow, try it out. Let me see your Fly attack." Spearow didn't waste any time, though it took a few moments for the new move to fully register. Once it had though Spearow shot straight up into the air at amazing speed almost instantly reaching a very high altitude.

Kenneth had been listening of course and turned about, walking back to the group as he started holding his chin as if thinking. He watched Spearow shoot up into the air and smiled at the lovely looking pokemon. "Hmm, let me see let me see. There's a contest hall here in Vermilion actually. Oh but you two can't enter it yet. If memory serves the contests here in Vermilion have a one...no a two ribbon requirement. Both of you have no ribbons so you won't be allowed to participate. The only two contest halls in Kanto with no ribbon restrictions are in Cerulean and Viridian City I think. Yes I'm sure of it. So Cerulean is your best bet for a contest since it's the closest. Hee hee hee, you two are gonna be so cute in that contest I swear! Riza darling do you want me to whip you up a glamorous outfit for the contest? We can go over the details later if you want."

Crenu looked at Kenneth with a bit of an annoyed look, thinking about the odd thing he could make for Riza. Though at the same time, he probably could make something for her. A dazzling outfit of her own when she's on stage...it would look kinda cute maybe...no not cute, a sparkling black suite or something would be kinda....sexy? As he looked at her and imagined various thing on her he couldn't help but turn a little red as each outfit was hotter then the last and also getting more revealing. Crenu again hated himself for being so predictable when thinking about this sort of thing and might have even started to grin until Spearow caught his attention as he descended with an odd cry. Looking up at the pokemon he couldn't help but notice an odd white light taking him over as he got closer and closer to the ground, Spearow's body started to grow and grow, his beak becoming longer and sharper looking and his wings expanding out and doing bigger more majestic powerful flaps. The glowing faded as he landed in front of Crenu, spreading his wings to their full span as he stretched out his neck high with his beak to the heavens crying out a loud triumphant squawk as sparkles seemed to flow out from his magnificent golden feathers. Crenu looked upon the Beak Pokemon, impressed by what he saw. "...huh. Didn't know you were close to evolving Fearow. Now the hard training can really begin."

If asked Dante would say that he was having a good time, he would have to say that he was having more fun then he thought he would. It was a nice day outside, people were actually being pretty friendly and the advice he was getting from the fishermen was actually pretty helpful. While he was chatting with them he found out that they were sport fishermen who were going to some sort of tournament in Sinnoh. It also meant that they weren't pokemon trainers since they only fished for the sport of it. Well either way it was a pretty good time, and Dante wouldn't have minded not catching anything at all.

Of course the universe would not let Dante have a nice peaceful day, why would it do that? Just as Dante was getting used to fishing and started having fun his rod gave a sudden sharp yank. "Oh, I think I have a pokemon on my line." Dante muttered as he looked down at it dumbly. There was another sudden and very sharp yank on his line which quickly reminded Dante of the advice the others had given him. Giving a sharp yank on his end Dante tried his best to reel in while pulling back. Ok this pokemon was strong. Dante thought as he started to get pulled forward. "Hera can you come over here and help." Dante asked trying to keep his cool as he was now being pulled against the side of boat. Around him the fishermen were watching the new comer get the catch of his life.

When Hera heard her trainers request she glanced over at him struggling not to get pulled over the side of the boat. The single horn pokemon quickly removed the string from her line and tied it to the side and flew over to where Dante was struggling. The moment she got her arms on the line she joined Dante in the struggle to get this pokemon out of the water. Holy smokes it was strong whatever it was! Hera was putting all her strength into it and it still wasn't coming up! Instead they were getting pulled more and more into the bar and closer to the ocean!

The other fishermen finally caught on that whatever the kid had caught it was strong enough to pull both him and his pokemon forward. Well there was no way that they weren't going to help their new friend. Soon all of the fishermen were doing their best to pull whatever it was up with Dante. With the combined help from all the other fishermen whatever Dante had caught started to surface.

"All right men let's give it another tug!" One of the fishermen shouted and soon they all gave a mighty tug and the result of Dante's catch surfaced from the water with a huge splash.

"Holy..." Unable to even finish his sentence Dante just stared at the huge beast and all he could wonder was, how the hell could he even fight this thing and how the hell did his rod not snap in half?

In front of him swimming next to the boat was the largest pokemon Dante had ever seen. Dante had reeled in the catch of his life, a fully grown and pretty angry looking Wailord was now swimming right next to the boat. "Why me?" He muttered to himself as he looked at the huge pokemon. Of course he couldn't think to long as suddenly the angry lord of the sea decided that he didn't like Dante bringing him up from the depths. The large pokemon focused its gaze at him before deciding to blast a Water Gun that was the size of normal pokemon's Hydro Pumps at him. It was a good thing Hera was paying attention though because she jumped right in the way of the attack protecting her trainer. The blast though sent her flying and she landed a ten feet back knocked unconscious.

As she watched Crenu's golden Spearow take flight, Riza realized that she was quite interested in her brother's Pokemon as well, as she only knew of a few of them. She wasn't sure what others he had captured over the past while. When Ken mentioned helping her to put together an outfit she smiled. She honestly didn't think she needed any help but the offer was appreciated at the very least. The look on Crenu's face, however, made her grin devilishly as the red in his face was a bit of a giveaway as to where his thoughts had turned to. 'Don't worry Shiro,' she thought slyly. 'I won't disappoint you.' Her plans for future contest outfits would have to wait as Crenu's Spearow suddenly underwent a transformation, and before they knew it, the little bird had evolved into a Fearow. Riza had seen a few Fearow before, but none of them had such beautiful golden feathers. 'I wish I had a shiny Pokemon,' she thought enviously. 'It would be perfect to show off in contests.'

Jaden gave an impressed whistle as the golden Fearow descended. He'd only seen a few shiny Pokemon in his days as a trainer and he had yet to find one of his own. He glanced at his sister, knowing full well what that look on her face meant. "I bet that someday you'll meet a shiny Pokemon too," he said reassuringly, and grinned. "And maybe now you can show me your Pokemon," he went on. "What others have you captured since you met your Sneasel?"

Riza rolled her eyes, but knew that if she didn't give in now he wouldn't let up about it. "Fine," she snapped. "And don't you dare make fun of them either," she added, a slightly venomous tone in her voice. She moved away from the the pokecenter a little more, stealing another envious glance at Crenu's Fearow before she stopped, and sighed. It wasn't that she was embarrassed to show Jaden her Pokemon, it was just that she knew she was still unbelievably weak compared to him, and it bothered her on some level. "Well, you know my Sneasel, of course," she said, releasing the ever energetic ice-type. "I've named her Akima," she added. Akima looked up at Jaden, carefully studying the human. "Akima, my brother, Jaden," she said, somewhat bored. "And I've also got a Kirlia and a Corphish, Yula and Diemia." She released the two of them next, with Yula giving a little twirl and curtsy while the crab just blinked and looked around, unimpressed. But then again Diemia would never be impressed in less there was a battle to fight. "And, last but not least, my newest Pokemon, little Eris!" she let the young Cyndaquil out of her ball and immediately picked her up. The fire mouse yawned, looking around sleepily. There sure were a lot of people here.

"Oh, you got yourself a Cyndaquil," Jaden said, leaning forward to look at the young Pokemon. "If I hadn't got my Pokemon from Clair I would have tried to get a Cyndaquil from Professor Elm in New Bark Town." He reached out and pet Eris gently on the head, and she cooed happily. A bit of smoke puffed out from her back and she coughed, sending a small bit of flames towards the ground. The flames ignited Jaden's shoe, but he didn't panic. Instead he released one of his own Pokemon, his Slowbro, and calmly asked it to use Water gun to douse the flames. "Isn't the first time something like this has happened," he laughed. "But it looks to me like your Cyndaquil just learned Ember."
* * * * *
It took a moment for Genki to fully register the new move he'd just learned, but when it sank in he turned to Katie and grinned, eager to give his new Rock Smash a try. Katie nodded, and pointed at the cracked stones. "Go ahead, Genki. Show us how it's done!" Both girls took a step back as the Monferno flexed his arms and focused on the rocks in front of him before he rushed forward and slammed his fist directly into the center of the offending boulder. A huge crack appeared down the middle of it and Genki smashed it again, this time breaking it apart into several pieces. The small, Shinx-sized hole was now big enough for Genki and the two girls to get through, so long as they both crawled through.

"What now?" Cara asked, though her tone seemed to indicate that she already knew the answer to her question.

"We go in too," Katie answered, not liking the idea much herself. "But if we want to find your Shinx, we have no choice." She knelt down and began to crawl on her hands and knees, Genki in front of her. She hadn't planned on doing anything like this today, but it seemed like fate had other ideas. She just hoped that the Shinx hadn't wandered off too far.

Crenu eyed Riza curiously for a moment, the grin she had donned before Spearow evolved was a bit unsettling as he wondered just what she was thinking about. Could she have seen through him and read his mind just now? No that was impossible, he was sure he hid it well. He ignored it for now, turning his attention to Fearow as it seemed Riza was showing her pokemon to her brother. He'd already met them, though last he remembered her Kirlia was a Ralts and her pokemon didn't have names. He wondered what the deal with naming ones pokemon were, perhaps for identification purposes when dealing with multiple pokemon of the same species. He hadn't found himself in that situation yet but perhapse he would name his pokemon as well. Though he wasn't sure of he could as the whole concept wasn't really something Crenu was well versed in. Looking at his Fearow who had tucked his wings in and was now pecking at different parts of his body, Crenu reached out to pet him on the head. Fearow immediately jerked back out of instinct and tried biting Crenu, but even with the strong beak clamped down on his arm Crenu simply stared at Fearow and kept his hand in place. Fearow let go of his arm when he realized it was Crenu and went back to grooming himself, glancing at him every moment or so hoping he wasn't mad. The way his trainer stared at him just sent a chill through the birds body. "Don't be so jumpy Fearow, acting on uninformed impulses can be troublesome and could lose you a battle some day. Got that? Now fly around and get use to your new body, I'm going to need you in top form for the next round of training." Fearow crowed loudly before taking to the air again, flying wide circles around the group. By now Jaden's shoe had been ignited and Crenu watched in interest as he remained calm and called on another of his pokemon to deal with the small fire. Slowbro? Interesting... "Indeed. That's good, though Ember's not as impressive a trick for a Cyndaquil like Extrasensory. I've never known one to use that before, I haven't known many pokemon in general to use that move. Any take on that Jaden?" This man was interesting indeed, Crenu wondered just how interesting.

Cynthia hung back a bit as Dante and the rest of the fishermen seemed to be really getting into it, the Heracross as well. It was nice seeing all these people come together, and she was sure that something had been set in motion since meeting all these interesting young trainers over the past couple of days. It didn't take long for her to drift off into her own thoughts, vaguely paying attention to what was happening right in front of her until the yells from the fishermen snapped her out of her daze. It seemed Dante had hooked a Pokemon, and a big one, from the look of it. She stood to get a better look, watching with some amusement as the Heracross joined in on the reeling in of what would easily be the catch of the day. The Pokemon surfaced with a giant splash, and Cynthia took a step back to avoid getting totally soaked. When she saw the Wailord she quickly reached for a Pokeball, but decided against it, even after poor Hera was knocked unconscious by the Water Gun. Let's see how he handles it, she thought, though she would be ready in case the situation got out of hand.

"Scratch again, Aipom!" Eliza called, pointing at Kakuna. As soon as she'd seen the Cocoon Pokemon she was certain that it was close to evolving, and as much as she loved to battle and win, she also loved seeing and helping Pokemon to evolve. The Long Tail Pokemon darted forward again, screeching excitedly as she prepared to tear into the Bug-type once more.

"Not this time," Jaeshan said somewhat quietly, and nodded to Squirtle. "Stop that Aipom with your Aqua Jet!" The turtle looked towards his target and nodded as well, quickly withdrawing his legs and tail into his shell before he propelled himself forward with a jet of water. It caught the Aipom by surprise as she was suddenly tackled to the ground by the very speedy attack. Jaeshan, upon seeing Squirtle's success looked back to his other Pokemon. "Kakuna, Poison Sting on the Chikorita, quickly!" he called. The Cocoon Pokemon turned as best he could and loosed a spray of poisoned barbs at the Grass-type, scoring a rather nice hit in the process.

"Oh no, Chikorita!" Eliza cried, watching her Pokemon stagger back after being struck by the needles. She didn't think the Leaf Pokemon had been poisoned this time, luckily for them, but she wasn't about to quit just yet. "Hang in there, Chikorita, and fight back with a Tackle!" So long as one of her Pokemon was occupying the Squirtle, the other would attack Kakuna on the off chance that it would nudge it into evolving. The energetic Grass-type dashed forward, narrowing her eyes as she neared her target. She pushed off with her back legs and thrust her head forward, landing a solid hit that more closely resembled a Headbutt than a Tackle. Either way it knocked Kakuna to the ground and he spun helplessly a few times until coming to a stop. He let out a small growl, feeling the anger course through his system as he remembered the Beedrill that had helped protect him while he was still a tiny Weedle, living in Viridian Forest. They weren't here to help him now, and he knew they would never forgive him if he were to just give up. Kakuna growled again, and began to wriggle vigorously within his hard shell as his entire form was suddenly engulfed by a bright, white light...

Kilik looked over at Cable with a raised eyebrow. Things were starting to tip into Totodile's favor and he really didn't like it. The Electabuzz felt the same way. A shiver went down his spine as he watched the fight. If that Totodile was going to bully around his little partner, he would have to answer to him! Let's see how that little runt took a well placed Thunderpunch to the face! He clenched his fist and sparks began to shower from it. "Cool it, Cable," Kilik whispered, tapping his foot. If it weren't for those Dragon Dances, Treecko would be in much better shape. Every hit Black*Star got on her would've been healed by my Absorb attacks. Treecko was panting, her little hand on her stomach. Where did that croc get that power? It came out of no where! The little gecko took a step forward, wincing. "Treecko!" Kilik shouted. "This is it, give it your all!" I put myself at a disadvantage to gain the advantage...! "Give him a full-power Pound!" This was it. Mustering up the last bit of her energy, Treecko broke into a mad dash towards the Totodile, jumping into the air and slamming her tail as hard as she could into his side. If he somehow managed to survive, she wouldn't be able to attack him again. The grateful little gecko fell to her knees and then down to the ground, completely out of energy.

"Whoo, okay. I think the coast is clear. S'been about five minutes!" As Mazarin hopped off the toilet and opened the door to the stall he had been hiding in, Banette hovered out from the floor. The puppet Pokemon hovered for a moment before motioning for him to follow. The trainer nodded and walked out of the bathroom, following the Ghost-type down the hallway. Logan seemed to all but disappear. With a stretch, Mazarin looked over at Banette. "What's the deal, little buddy?" The ghost began to flail his arms around. Using the tail-like appendage on his head, the Pokemon styled his hair into Kilik's and put his hands to his sides, looking tough. "Something about Kilik?" The Pokemon nodded then went to looking normal and standing on the ground, clutching his heart and falling to the ground.

"Kilik's been...beaten?" and the Ghost-type nodded again, floating up. "Well, this I gotta see! Where is he?" And with that, the two of them made their way to the arena. Mr. High and Mighty losing?! I can't believe it! Banette wouldn't pull something like this over me! Haha!

Both Robin and Luffy watched with wide eyes as the determined Treeko lept up into the air into a powerful looking Pound attack. "Oh-hoooo!" Robin watched as Black*Star took the hit right on and she couldn't help the wince of sympathy as she felt what must have been a few of Black*Stars ribs cracking in the least. She was even more impressed to see Black*Star still standing after the move. 'Heh, I knew he had it in him!' Robin thought to herself with a smirk.

What Robin didn't know was that Black*Star had actually passed out from the force of Treeko's attack. The only reason he was still standing was because he was so determined his body wouldn't let itself fall down and rest. Of course neither of the pokemon could battle anymore and that became pretty apparent when Luffy dashed over and slapped Black*Star on the back with a huge grin. The exhausted and beaten Totodile simply crumpled onto the ground like the Treeko. It seemed that both pokemon were down for the count!

"Oh wow its a double knock out!" Robin laughed before going over to Black*Star and picking him up. "Hey let me get Black*Star over to Nurse Joy and then Cable and Luffy can fight all right?" Robin asked without even waiting she headed over to Nurse Joy and after a brief conversation with her she left Black*Star in her capable hands. Jogging back to her side of the field Robin grinned over at Kilik. "All right! We are all set over here aren't we Luffy?" At her side Luffy laughed before smiling in a confident way. Yeah they were ready.

Ok, wow, that attack sure had a lot of power in it! Dante cast a worried look back at Hera before hurriedly looking back at the huge pokemon who was still not to happy with him. Well he had to fight back somehow, and Apollo his only one who was his strongest had a huge type disadvantage here. OK maybe since it was so big he could send out two pokemon? Turn A and Kenny were his next strongest and they weren't really weak to it, they may not like each other but the whale was big enough they didn't really have to deal with one another yeah? Well he didn't have much more time to think on it. "Ok well I hope you two get along." Dante muttered as he took out each of there pokeballs and released his two pokemon. Turn A appeared in a flash of code while Kenny floated through a small shadow on the ground.

The two pokemon took a second to register where they were before noticing that the other was out as well. Immediately they both glared at each other the tension between the two rising fast. "Hey! No fighting right now, you two can fight later, right now we have a much bigger foe." Dante quickly stepped between the two and placing a hand on both of their heads he turned them to their large foe. "You two need to stop fighting for a moment so we all don't drown ok?" He muttered.

The two cast one more dark glare at each other before they decided that yeah ok maybe the huge Wailord was more of a threat. Without hesitating Turn A activated his Magnet Rise ability so he could fly over the water while Kenny floated down through the boat and over towards where the Wailord was swimming. Each of them thinking that they were going to be the ones to take the huge one down.

Keegan continued his aimless wandering, now only vaguely aware that he wasn't in the real world, until he turned a corner, and he stopped dead in his tracks. "Okay, wow. This is trippy," he marveled as he took in the extreme change of scenery around him. He could easily tell that he wasn't in Lavaridge anymore, as it was no longer sunset but in fact around noon, judging by how high the sun was in the sky. The architecture of the buildings around him had undergone a dramatic shift in style as well, and after a moment or so he realized he was in Vermilion City, and fairly close to the Pokemon Center, as well. He kept walking, amazed at how familiar this city had become, stopping only when he saw several people come into view, and he frowned when he realized that he was once again looking at himself. "This is getting really old," he grumbled, looking around some more. He remembered this day quite well, as it had been the first time he'd met several of his friends, including Jaeshan and Kasiya. Interestingly enough he'd met up with Mike here too, and though they'd known each other for years they both pretended that they'd never met before, and had even managed to be civil during that time as well.

The redhead smiled when he saw that Kasiya and Jae were engaged in a somewhat heated battle, with Kasiya's Pikachu, Shocker, taking on Jae's Mightyena. Mightyena would take the win despite being hammered by Shocker's newly-learned Thunder, though after that he quickly fell to Seto, Kasiya's Persian. The thing he remembered most about this battle was that even though he'd never met her, he knew the girl was holding back, probably because she feared that winning the battle would hurt her friend's feelings. He remembered just how angry she got when he called her on it afterward, and grinned. It was good to know that some things never changed. He withdrew a cigarette and lit it as Jaeshan sent out his Butterfree to go up against Kasiya's Persian, wondering how much longer he would have to endure this forced march down memory lane.

At this point in her career as a trainer, Miharu new better than to think she had Chuck completely figured out, and though she knew how to get around Focus Punch now, she was certain that it was not the only trick the gym leader had up his sleeve. She was also sure that she wasn't the only challenger to use a flying Pokemon to exploit the weaknesses of the fighting types, and that by now Chuck had probably devised many strategies to combat those weaknesses. Even still, Miharu had no intent on losing this match, not after all the intense training she'd been putting in lately. Aerial Ace was easily the best move Aska had at her disposal, and Miharu planned to make full use of it. "Aerial Ace," she called, pointing at the mighty Machoke. And make it a good one, she thought, not wanting to give Chuck a chance to pull off whatever said strategy could possibly be.

The Pidgeotto gave a loud shriek and sped towards her opponent, light streaming behind her once again. Even though this attack could not miss, she carefully chose a spot to strike - the same place her other attacks had hit - and gave it her all as she prepared to tear into the Superpower Pokemon.

Chuck narrowed his eyes when he heard the girl's next command, and though he knew exactly why she was sticking with the same attack move, it didn't mean he had to like it. While Machoke may have looked like he still had plenty of stamina left, in truth he was actually starting to feel the toll of the Bird Pokemon's attacks. Chuck was well aware of this, however, and had no intentions of letting his Pokemon go down without a fight. "Fight back with Ice Punch!" he shouted, thrusting his fist forward in a quick jab. "Bring that Pidgeotto down!"

Machoke smirked lightly at the command; ahh, Ice Punch. He was quite fond of this move, as it often caught his flying type opponents off guard. It seemed to be the case this time, as well, for though he took the Aerial Ace to the chest, he fought through the pain and made a fist which quickly began to glow with a frosty aura. With a grunt he slammed his icy fist into the side of the bird's body, making solid contact and knocking her back with the force of the blow.
