Faye and Zaid watched Azurai at work and then when the doors opened a heat gust caused the elf maiden to change back to her normal form. Zaid pulled the female close so the instant change in temperature would not cause a shock.

"Lets go Sin," Sintariun nodded to her friend and both descended into the doorways not knowing what to expect.

Stepping in, Azurai kept his pace to be just beside Sin and Zaid. He had his own reasons for watching over the pair, and more then one at that. Looking at the path beyond, a cold and silent look came into his eyes a moment the disappeared.

Quickly returning to himself, the sand elf whistled "Wow, haven't felt heat like this in years!" He sighed almost happily "Feels just like home. Now then...wonder what kinda treasure I can find in a place like this!" He said with a grin, perking up a bit.

Ramiel sighed, He'll never change "We're only after a single treasure, and we have little time to obtain it. The clock is ticking and I assure you it will be heavily guarded" Ramiel spoke with a strong tone, the voice of a leader and one with untold years of experience. His hair blew in the hot air rising from the inner most parts of the Volcano as he began his way down the path.

Ditching his cloak and any extra clothing as the door opened, Falon dashed in and did a flip of joy! "So warm!!!" He said seeming rather happy to no longer be in the cold. Giving a sigh of joy, he suddenly jerked forward, pulling Sari back a shoulder as the path beneath her suddenly crumbled "The spirit of earth has little strength left in this place, it would be best to watch your footing more carefully" A calm, sagely, but still serious tone came into his voice as he spoke.

"Great. Another heavily guarded treasure. Although, I shouldn't expect any less. What is it now, lava monsters?" he asked sarcastically while following Ramirez. He had already put his cloak away because of the heat. But he was starting to worry about how long the group had before the volcano erupted.

Alwyn removed her cloak. "It seems though that the spirit of fire is rather prominant here and doesnt seem to have weakened at all" she said to Falon as she went to stand by him and look over the edge trying to be funny. A moment later Alwyn felt an extream wave of heat go through her body, and saw visions of everyone running... She came too a moment later still standing next to Falon. She turned to Ramiel. "Whats the likely hood of this place going boom?" She asked him her eyes serious her voice quiet and the expression on her face a little worried. They were not happy visions she was having. Another really strong wave of heat went through her body causeing her to get a little bit dizzy "There really is very little time for this i think." She said as she forced her vision to steady and move away from the edge. She would have to be careful and hope her little bouts of vision didnt slow everyone down. She cooled herself with a small breeze.

"Woo-" Sari's shout of glee was interrupted when Falon grabbed her. She had been looking forward to the short freefall that would occur between her falling off the path and catching herself. "Aww, I was looking forward to that..." She said with obvious disappointment in her voice. She wasn't going say any more, but after a moment of thinking she decided to add that she'd be more careful for Falon's sake. "Sorry, I'll try and watch were I'm stepping, but you don't have to worry; I'm and elven sorceress that's over three-hundred years old, so I can take care of myself." Though she would've liked to add 'powerful', she didn't because she really wasn't sure how powerful she was compared to other people.

"Yes well being powerful isn't an excuse for doing something foolish. Your powers won't always be able to save you. It is foolish to become dependent on them, some learn this the hard way, don't be the next to join them" Falon said, his voice strong and slightly stern, giving off the impression that he had experience with this in some way or another. Shaking his head a moment he started walking off, further down the path.

"Honestly?" Ramiel asked, scarcely looking back "If we don't get the orb within 6 hours, we'll be fried to a crisp...or at least everyone thats not fire proof. Even if we do get the orb there's still a slight chance this whole place is going to blow...or possible crumble in on us" He said with a nonchalant shrug. Either Ramiel had a plan, or he wasn't to worried about his own survival.

Sintariun looked to Zaid as he walked into the volcano and both got blasted by the heat of the magma. The elf maiden remained quiet next to her guard and then stole a glance at Azurai noticing that he was watching them. Suddenly the scene from the hotspring played in her mind causing Sintariun to blush lightly and keep her gaze on the ground.

"Hold your head up, Sin, someone of your status shouldn't have your head bowed." Zaid was listening to Ramiel and didn't like what was going on. "Then lets pick it up then, we don't have time to dawdle." The elf kept his jaw set and eyes forward scanning for potential danger, something in his bones told him that this wasn't going to be as easy as it look and sounded.

Alwyn looked strait at Ramiel. "its going to explode" She said so that only he could hear her. "Ive got a feeling..." She said as she stepped further away from the edge

"Perhaps, but theres no telling for sure. Things change, the flow of time is ever moving. No one being can tell exactly what will happen until it happens. Now lets hurry things up before something comes out and attacks us..." He said, his eyes casually scanning the area. For a moment his ears seemed to perk and he stopped "Keep following this path, it should lead straight on to the orb. If it forks, don't split up, we need to stay together...I'll be right back" After saying that, without another word, Ramiel proceeded to contradict himself and leap head first into the boiling lava below them. A faint sizzle and the roar of an ancient beast echo's in the Volcano just as he disappeared under the surface.

Azurai laughed "Ha, status means nothing. Let her do what she wants, whats important is whats on the inside. Status and bloodline don't make a good ruler or a good person" Azurai said, casually crossing his arms behind his head as he looked up, trying to spot the top of the Volcano.

Seirei had stayed with Liah, noticing her new animal but saying nothing about it yet. They had something to do now. As they approached the door he looked uneasily ahead, the lava all around making him extremely nervous again. Luckily it wasn't falling that he was worried about, he could always mist himself back up, but if this place erupted they would be incinerated, except of course there chimera friend who just dove into the molten rock.

"Fast, we need to get out of here fast," he said quickly, nervously. This was not a place for someone such as him who not only could be killed by fire but had a distinct fear of the stuff. Regular fire he had no problems with but flame being cast at him, a volcano that could erupt at any time, anything he couldn't keep an eye on so easily was fear inspiring. "We'll make it... somehow," he convinced himself as he followed the rest of the group, staying near Liah as much as he could.

Alwyn looked strait at him and watched him go. She new what would happen she had just seen it happen the question really was when it was going to happen she only got these things in bits and pieces but they usually came true. She turned and followed the group

Falon suddenly stomped in his tracks "Not good..." He muttered, suddenly he humped back as a small ball of flame hit the patch of the path he'd been standing on. Suddenly from above dropped three salamanders, each one giving off a resounding his as the glared at the travelers that had entered their territory.

(think something like the Salamanders from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in the Goron mine. For those of you who haven't played the game. Basically they look like Salamanders that are the size of a person, their bodies are made out of molten rock, most of which is hardened like armor accept for the tail)

Alwyn drew her sword. she wouldnt be able to use her magick here it might cause more of a fire if she did. She stood ready to attack though
PostPosted: Fri Aug 01, 2008 2:03 pm

Zen stepped back as the salamanders came down. He had been expecting something, or somethings, to attack them, but not this soon. He took out his sword and readied for the attack. "There's only three of them. This shouldn't be too hard." he said.

Tori stopped and got into a fighting stance as soon as she got sight of the salamanders. Immeditaly she reached for her ax and grasped it tightly with both of her hands. It'll be harder not to fall off the side of the edge while fighting, better be careful she thought quickly eyeing the edge of the path.

((How big is this path anyway??))
