*pouts* I'm way ahead of the Gaian time. Whenever I speak with someone from the US, I'm either seven or nine hours ahead of them! gonk
It's frustrating that when most people are online, when I'm sleeping.~~
We don't have a tradition of when we get up the Christmas tree either. All I know is that on the 23rd, I'll help my mom decorate the tree, and then I'll walk to my grandma (who lives 3 km away), and help her and grandpa decorate their tree!
I can hardly wait for Christmas Eve! Right after we're done packing up our presents, I'll log on here, and tell you what I got. And probably laugh a little over the fact that it'd be around 24 hours before you guys get to open yours! lol
One of the few things I like about living in Norway!

3 km?? Hahaha sorry if I sound like a american right there, but you know they don't teach the metric system to us. You are so lucky that you get to open up your presents and celebrate christmas before we do. You probably got to read the 7th hp book pretty early right? I'm so happy that the movie came out on DVD today! I'll definately be hitting up walmart tomorrow. What I love about Christmas is that on christmas eve, all my tias and the women in my family get together and make tamales. I usually wrap them up and count them, I'm going to have to learn how to make them or else my kids will not know the old mexican tradition of tamale making. Now I'm getting excited! mrgreen Orna...I'll stick one bronze ornament on the tree ::shh..don't tell wink ::, so that its truly Ravenclaw. I watched the victoria secret fashion show tonight and guess who was a guest there? Spice Girls! It was funny because when I was a kid I was a crazy spice girls fan, I even did shows with my friends and was posh spice. Those victoria secret angels have the longest legs, but I love watching the show because of the elaborate costumes and the cute underwear and bras!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! I've pokede around in the Events forum for a little while, its a great organization effort mrgreen
Its funny, I was watching the Victoria's secret show the other day too, all the outfits were very cute and sexy, seeing the Spoce girls again brings back memories. I was still in primary school and often danced to their songs (or at least attempted to) rofl
I'm trying to not leave Christmas shopping to the last minute this year, but its so hard to buy some people presents. Even on gaia I spend ages choosing one gift, I need a course in speed shopping whee

Ah, three km is about two miles.
And yes, I did get to read it early! I could hardly put down the book!
The movie came out on DVD about two weeks ago here.. eek It's rare that we're ahead of America with anything! So it is a rare occasion, that I have every intention of enjoying!
Teeny, tiny Norway.. Ahead of the huge land that's called America.. Ah, it's something I'll remember for the rest of my life! biggrin
To be honest, I didn't like Spice Girls when I was a kid.. Only thing I really had to do with them, was when I watched their movie with a friend, and that my grandmother once bought me some pencils, and such, with them on it... lol
Today we're gonna be sleeping at our school. So I won't be on tonight, unless I manage to borrow a computer at the school. Which I doubt, since we're gonna watch movies, play SingStar and Guitar Hero and other activites all night! We're also going out eating before we go to the school!
Milano and Durum Kebab, here I come! *does a weird little dance*
And in four days, I'll be hearing the "Sankta Lucia" song *everywhere*!
It goes something like this
"Snart senker natten seg, I stall og stue Solen har gått sin vei Skyggene truer Inn i vårt mørke hus Stiger med tente lys Sankta Lucia Sankta Lucia"
"Soon the night arrives In farms and livingrooms The sun has left The shadows are threatening In our dark house Rises with lit lights Saint Lucia Saint Lucia"
Well, that's the rough translation of the Norwegian text, the first verse of it. Translated by me. *laughs*
And yes, I'm semi bored. whee

That's awesome kitsune that you get to sleep at your school and do fun things like guitar hero and singstar. I've never played singstar but I own guitar hero...that's the only video game where I can say..."look at my mad guitar hero skills..I totally rock that game" xd Starshine about the christmas shopping thing, you should make a list of what the person you're giving the gift to like and then just hit up the stores that you know has it. Just do some background research on the item and price comparison. That's what I do..thankfully I'm just about done, I finished all my christmas shopping on black friday.

Sorry for the long reply to everyone who welcomed me, you've successfully made me feel at home!
I guess I better introduce myself. Name's Vortigan, but my friends call me Vorti. I'm... frankly not all that interesting to talk about except for the fact that I'm a highschool graduate hoping to go study in Graphic Design in the near future.
I read tarot cards, so if anyone here want a reading just go ahead and ask me here or in a PM if you wanna ask something personal. And don't worry, I'm all for confidentiality and won't say anything to anyone. Plus, I've pretty much heard it all, so don't be embarassed!

When it comes to gifts - I love Etsy.com! It's a great website chock full of great handmade and unique gifts. I got the cutest earrings from there (from an artist in Singapore!) and I'm looking at some adorable aprons for my future apartment as well.
It is best to make a list, just like para said - even better if you have a few ideas just in case you can't find that 'one' thing. I'm going shopping this weekend, but I already know what I'm getting everyone. smile
@ Vortigan - I'm really skeptical on the whole 'tarot' card thing, how exactly does it work? Congrats on looking to go into Graphic Design, a few of my friends where in that major when I was in college. (I graduated in August with my Masters in Occupational Therapy). Where are you looking to go?

Yeah, it's awesome here! And the Kebab Durum was delicious! biggrin
I'm quite good at Guitar Hero myself. But I still prefer games like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and of course, Devil May Cry. whee
No one brought SingStar though. So it won't be much singing going on. But we played SingStar last year, so that's okay.
We're having a great time! I bought lots of candy for the occasion!
Luckily, I only have about seven presents to buy! twisted

Orna...that website looks great, maybe I'll use it to make the last gift instead of buying golf balls for my godfather. I never really like the whole tarot card thing, I don't know if its because I was raised Catholic, but the whole supernatural thing freaks me out. I can't even handle the thought that ghosts are around us... cry My family has like innate psychic abilities, like my grandfather when he was living in his farm in Mexico talked to a dead woman. She told him that she was murdered and the she needed something to be done (I really don't remember the whole story). My mom's aunt came and talked to my mom, like a few minutes after she died...(crazy!) Supposedly my dad told my mom he was going to die in a week...he died a week later. So, because of all of this I really don't like supernatural stuff. Like I guess I can sense some things but I tend to ignore it. When I was little, my mom told me, that I told her that "witches and people" talked to me and told me stuff. I don't really remember all that much, since everything from 7-8 years old and down is blocked from my memories. Anyways, I just don't like it...funny how I love HP eek
Kitsune...I love final fantasy and kingdom hearts...never heard of Devil may cry though. confused

I, at least, just got my Chinese finals back.
I got 1 point off...
sad
It was sad because for examples of how a chair and table can be used, I wrote throne and Ms. Wang was like "YOU FORGOT MOUNTAIN!"

Even after an extra page of writing random crap. gonk
