Joel walked out to stand with his teammates. So far, it only looked like they were missing one player, and he hoped Anna came out sooner rather than later. He and Gid were decent as a team, but they needed help to make sure that they prevented Hufflepuff from scoring and to try and score themselves. If that happened, they actually had a shot at the cup, even if all the teams lost one game. He knew they had to beat Hufflepuff to get that shot, so he stretched, giving a nod to the others before straightening up and waiting.

Bronwen stepped onto the pitch, already carrying her customary broom and box for the game, She looked over the teams assembled and nodded, thinking they were ready to start. Gryffindor had managed to win their last game, and were looking to finish out the season with two wins. Meanwhile, this was Hufflepuff's second game and they had the potential to still go undefeated. It certainly made for an interesting time. "Today's game is between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. Lions versus Badgers. I want a nice clean game between both teams. Let's get this party started!" She kicked open the box and mounted her broom, waiting for the snitch to vanish before grabbing up the quaffle. Flying upward, she tossed the ball up, starting the game officially.

spaceJazzy shot Zeph a glare when, of course, the first thing he did once he was in the air was aim for Ivy. Even though she wasn't going to hold it against him, it did help her competitiveness if she pretended like she would. Also, it made her feel less bad about trying to redirect the ball back at him. The third year took off to try and intercept the hit, hoping she'd succeed; it was too early in the game for Ivy to already be sporting an injury.

spaceIt seemed like she hadn't even gotten her bearings on her broom yet when, already a bludger slammed into her side, knocking her off a course she hadn't even properly set yet. She hadn't heard very loud of a crack, and so was going to assume that she hadn't broken anything outright, just fractured it. Still, what a pain in the arse! She shoved the pain aside, focusing. Had to find the snitch. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too damned evasive.

Layton grinned as he almost immediately spotted the snitch, though, by the looks of it, Ivy had too. Not even a bludger right out of the gate could stop her. He had to admire those Gryffindors for their perseverance. He shot straight for the snitch, knowing the longer this game dragged out the less chance he had of actually getting his hands on the snitch.

Zeph winced when his hit connected, knowing that had to hurt. However, his focus was right now on the other beaters. Chase was probably hanging back at the moment, but he did have the opportunity to maybe keep the other beaters busy. He swung, finding a bludger and sending it toward Aster.
