"Kings? How does one play Kings? I...uh...never really played with the other hyena pups when I was with them. I usually went with the mothers to hunt. Actually now that I think about it...how do you play any of those things?" Haveo sat down head tilted toward the sky pondering how much he missed the past few years.

"Save your strength, young prince. You are bleeding much, I can feel it on my coat, you will need many days rest, perhaps next time you should try a less-dangerous prey...." She would have chuckled to herself, if she had not been dragging twice her own weight, and she didn't wish to insult Mwali either. She spared herself a swift look up to see the distance left to her home and smiled, she had come farther than she had estimated, it wouldn't be long now. She closed her eyes momentarily, lowering her head again, it took all her concentration to support the lion's weight, but if she failed, he could die, and she certainly wouldn't want that. She was sworn to help and protect all of the children of the pride, and it seemed as if Mwali was starting to fit that mold, though she still protested Mufasa allowing him into their home in the first place. She was shaken out of thought as her paw caught on a loose rock, she really should have been concentrating on where she was going. With much effort she was able to keep from falling, but she wouldn't be able to do it again without rest.

Ngoyen had yet again fallen asleep. But now, it was night, but he was fully rested! Ngoyen stood up, stretched his legs, shook his mane, and yaawned. Man, sleeping can really take it out of you! Ngoyen wandered down, looking around, and noticing that there was no one else there. Feeling alone again, Ngoyen made his way to the thorny brush, and proceeded to wander through it. His mind was still asleep, as it normally was, and his body was on autopilot.

Ngoyen continued onward, his mind wandering. Before he knew it, he was too deep in to even see the rocks that he had left. But he kept going... and going. He didn't really think about anything. Just stared at the stars, and fallowing them. Finally, his nose bumped into a white tree. No, a bone. An elephant rib. Ngoyen looked around himself. He wasn't in the pride lands anymore.

Mwali felt her jar under him due to the rock, her muscles quivering beneith his body... he was hurting her with his bulk. Slowly and carefully he slid himself from her back and supported himself on three of his four paws, the fouth pressed against his chest. Lords above it was a terrible pain but he buried the expressions signifying that in a deterimined growl, slowly but surely walking towards the rock, "Don't strain yourself... I can walk the rest of the way. I'm sorry to have been a trouble... I should have waited for you."

He felt like such a fool...the one lioness he was attracted to had seen him wounded and totally helpless. He wanted to impres her and win her affection, there'd be no chance of that now.

Sarabi was getting just a little irritated. He was helping her, then suddenly ran off. She couldn't exactly go get him, or they would loose their kill to some other scavenger. Fine. She would get it back to Priderock on her own. It seemed she had to do all the work lately...

Her irritableness could probably be chalked up to her exhaustion and the dull pain in her side. Things would irritate her more easily until she'd had a good rest. Fiercly grabbing up the zebra, she started to dragg it, stopping to rest up for the next big haul for another few feet. Blood leaked from the zebra, staining the ground, and her paw began to throb before she was even halfway there. She growled low in her throat and pressed on, determined to reach Priderock.

Jasiri opended her mouth to protest, but quickly closed it, knowing Koho was much stronger, and could do a better job than her. She watched them a little before obeying Koho's order and going to help the queen. "Your highness, would you like some help?" Without an answer she got uner the other half of the zebra, balancing out the weight between them. She didnt know where Sukutu went, but it was probably important.

Koho easily felt the mass of the male slip from her body, but she could also feel his muscle working independent of her, so he must be fancying himself strong enough to reach Priderock on his own. "At least let me help you, I'm not as weak as you seem to assume." An exasperated smile lit her features to take away the sting, but speaking about getting to shelter was just slowing them down. She noticed quickly that he was only walking with three paws and so quickly slipped under the side that was unstable, securing his paw firmly under him in a sort of living splint. "Come now, the faster we get home, the faster this whole ordeal is over." She was purposely ignoring his apologies, they would need to wait until after everyone was safe, and even then she wouldn't accept them, he was trying at least, that was more than she could even say for herself, she should have kept her promise to him.

"I don't think that you're weak...quite the contrary..." He sighed, letting her aid him in his step. Dispite his attempts he knew he couldn't make it back to the den without help. He just wanted to look strong and noble for her. She seemed irratated with him all ready, all the working and trying to impress her in the last two days seemed silly and were showing little promise. Perhaps his former pride was right- he wasn't meant to have a mate or start a family. His blood was the thin blood that ran in his pride and was best ended with him. It was discouraging and a bit of an aggrivated yet sorrowful expression. His body slumped a bit as they neared their destination. Seeing the flattened grass where his bulk had slept the night before he removed his wounded side from Koho's back and limped pathetcally over to the spot, slowly laying himself down on his side with his back to them. His good paw moved to cover his eyes to hide the self-loathing and anger in them. He hated that he coudln't even get one hunting trip right. He looked like a fool to the pride. It was doubtful that they'd accept him now. He couldn't even help hunt with the easiest job- a bright red body with teeth to scare the stupid animals into a trap.

Giving up with the rogue lion and the bird, Sukutu decided to make his way back to Pride Rock, his pale eye's seemed to droop softly as he was still tired from waking up so early, yet he just shook his head along with his ever growing yet undeveloped mane and padded towards the figure of the den.
He noticed the Queen and gulped, if she saw him he would be in the worst kind of trouble for just running of, he then looked away and started to humm innocently, like he hadn't seen her, his pace starting to quicken as he just wanted to get back.
Before he knew it he went of into a full tilt sprint back to the den, almost sliding into Koho and the wounded Firekin male if his paws suddenly dug into the ground, causing him to skid into a rather dramatic halt before them.
He looked at the two of them before his eye's lay on the red male, why had he even come here anyway? What was he looking for?
Never the less Koho helped him so he was obviously a friend, he gave a soft nudge into Koho's shoulder, knowing he had been away for a long time and it had been a while since she had actualy seen him.
"Hey Koho been having fun with our guest?" He said in a humourous kind of voice as he sat down on his rump.

Mwali lifted his paw slightly from his eyes at the sound of the new voice, his large head turning just a bit to look down his flank to the newcomer. He had laid with his back to Koho in hopes of hiding his face from her- the anguish and embarassment in his failure to even come close to impressing the beautiful female, the humiliation in his wounds, and the utter grief that he felt in thinking that he had insulted the glorious creature. The new cub seemed to know Koho- he was the brown male that he had seen with his little Jasiri. They would make a lovely pair when they got older in his opinion. The poor little female had felt so terrible about not fitting in with her brown coat- here she found one that looked just like her down to the color of her eyes. At least one had found their place. It was comforting to know that he had done some good in leaving his pride behind. He couldn't help but wonder about them... how was his brother and all the little ones doing? Had his father passed on? Was Kiu the king yet? Too many questions that no longer concerned him. He didn't belong there anymore. Returning would be his death. He still didn't feel very accepted here either. He noted the hatred and fear in the eyes of the other lionesses or creatures that looked his way, the cold manner upon which he was greeted- even after delivering his message and explaining himself.

He shook his thoughts from his head and focused on the scene at hand. It was terribly rude to lay there like a half-eaten carcass and say nothing. Forcing a bit of a smile to his blood-stained lips he greeted the brown adolecent, "Hello... forgive me but I've not had the pleasure of learning your name."

The young male's ears swivveled ontop of his head towards to red lion, turning his attention towards him now he narrowed his eye's as he saw the small trickle of blood.
He took a moment before he faced him properly and gave a small snort before he answered the male, he always did that or something else usualy before he did talk...but it was rare he did.
But this male was wounded and it was apparent he was a friend of his beautiful foster mother, yet...he didn't trust him that fully yet...he was a Firekin and as such unpreditable.
Never the less, if he was rude infront of Koho, he would inform the Queen....or even the King! And he being close to adolesence couldn't bare the thought of even stepping one foot out of the den as an outsider!!
"Sukutu!" He blurted out suddenly, taking a moment to regain his composure before clearing his throat and answering properly.
"It's Sukutu...may I ask yours though?" He was speaking more politely then usual, actualy he had been strange ever since he came back and met Jasiri, must've been a near adolesence thing, he then let himself relax slightly as he waited.

His ears lowered a bit and he sunk into his mane just slightly as the young male snapped out with his name. Obviously this one wasn't fond of his kind either. He truely couldn't understand this spite for the firekin. He wasn't aware of his pride's bloody past or anything else really. He was simply the spare paw incase something happened to his older twin, Kiu. Their father pampered the heir, teaching him of the history of the pride, teaching him to fight, hunt, to rule, and basically ignored young Mwali. As a cub, Mwali and Kiu were close and would often play and live the carefree lives of a youth but as time passed on Mwali was soon forgotten behind the lessons and his brother's infatuation with a lioness from this very land. Mwali then lived his days sunning himself and watching the empty golden desert. Every day was like the day before... he was pampered, spoiled, fat, and lazy. He was tired of all that, tired of spending hourless days laying about and being useless.... tired of being nothing to the pide but another mouth to feed. Not that he didn't like the free food, but as time went on and he grew older he realized how much of a failure his life had been. He was clumsy, slow, weak-dispite his bulk- and had no clue how to be a lion. Leaving was his only chance at a real life... and at love. No lioness would take him dispite him being a prince, he was lazy and they probibly thought he'd produce weaklings for the next generation of the proud firekin.

Quickly masking the emotions in his thoughts he composed himself slightly, "I am Pr-.... er... Mwali. Just Mwali."
