Eirami Hola! I'm am, indeed, a flute player... Urrrgg concert day after tomorrow, rehearsals=heck Especially since girl next to me seems to have a sudden dislike for the teacher and plays wrong on purpose. Hard to concentrate... I hate people like that...There is a girl like that in our section too...except, she didnt ever try to start with. Our contest is tommorow too...gool luck on yours.

Hey. I'm new to the guild.
I'm a flautist, and have been for almost five years. I'm in eighth grade now and I started at the end of third, but got kicked out of band because my teacher's an a** and only keeps the people that are in his daughter's little ring, and/or wear pink everyday.
Most label me as "goth", so I obviously was kicked out.
However, I'm moving later this year and I'm going to rejoin the band. Band was my first love, really...corny as it sounded, I am among other band geeks, so it's okay. ^_^ All my teachers really said I had a talent for it, especially since...well, in my band, we couldn't join until we got to lesson twelve in our little books, and I had made it to sixteen before the end of November of fourth grade. ^_^
In short, a lot of flautists are preppy and it bugs me, but this thread has some nice people that just genuinely love playing flute. WHEE! Me too.

He only loves you if you play a lower instrument, or are a complete airhead. It annoys me. For now, I'm done with concerts. Yay! I actually made it all the way through the concert tonight, but 1st chair missed an entrance entirely, and 2nd chair came in early. The second flutes got it, but it sounded really special. Aww well. I really wish we could tune.

That's the problem with flutes, tuning. xd
I wish I'd play a lower instrument sometimes. But not because of tuning. I love my flute. xp

Yes, Flutes cannot tune. You can imagine the fun I have in Marching Band, playing the Piccolo. Our Band Director's cool; he picks on the Flute section, jokingly, and because he plays the Trumpet he jokes around saying that they're better. Pssh. We don't have a concert coming up for a month or two...I need to get my seat back..soon.

Soon to be 3rd (planning on challenging Ryan--wish me luck >.<) Next year I should be 3rd chair or second chair. I will beat Ryan and Karen..I will.

SullenFever98 RinoaHeartilly SullenFever98 Ack. Ryan is an idiot. He's just like "I got an Alto flute and a Bass flute" He didn't want to get one until I said something about it. b*****d. Sorry, that's like the only thing that bugs me about him. And he'd probably get one before I will. lol xD I think everyone has to go through things like that some time. I'll be talking about something to my friends that I wanna get then they go look into it and then they want it. And get it. Before I do. x_x Yeah, but what's annoying is I had a Piccolo in 8th grade, he didn't. Then our BD wouldn't let me play it because he wasn't sure how good of a Flutist I was. So, after my playing test I asked him if I could play it just once and he said because I did so well I could play it full time. So, later on when Ryan had his playing test Mr. Doll must've said something about me playing it and Ryan probably said he wanted to play it too and then Mr. Doll let him borrow his Piccolo! And I was just like -strangle, smack, smack- And then I mentioned playing Bass flute and you know the rest I guess. Man, that sucks. I can't play the picc too well. The flute is easy, but the picc... yeah, I definately can't play that as well as I should be able to. xD

The flute is easy, but the picc... yeah, I definately can't play that as well as I should be able to. xD Haha yeah I should probably be able to play the piccolo better too >.< oh well maybe i'll get better when i start practicing it with marching music whenever we get it..which i think i should ask my bd when we get it because i'm really anxious for it
