He blinked a couple times and looked at each of them in turn. "Nothing," he responded quietly. As if by magic, his face brightened by a good 10 shades of light. "Just think it's pretty pathetic that the Rebellion's accepting wet-behind-the-ears green..." he smirked, "sorry, bluebies like this young'n." He laughed and smiled at them.

He looked almost insulted. "What? I'm more than 5 years your senior, and have been flying for at least twice as long, evading Imperial patrols for as much time, too. If i'm wet behind the ears, she's practically submerged underwater." He was still jovial about the whole matter, but held an edge that inferred that he wanted them to drop it.

"If I'm supposed to be wet behind the ears, you should know sir, that I am 28. I also grew up on a smuggling ship. I started copiloting it at the age of 13." Azure said in her defense.

"'Grew up on a smuggling ship?'" He wasn't laughing anymore. "That's nothing. When you're 13 and you have to navigate through Imperial patrols with your captain dead in your lap, then you've cut your teeth."
He stared at them suddenly and was quiet.

He seemed more embarassed than angry now. "We lost so many last time..."
That was the only answer he could offer, but it was enough.

Gendis sighed and looked down at is hands. "I feel bad for all the loss of life on the Death Star. And Alderaan... there are tremendous voids there, of lives lost. So losing fellow squad members... it's just as bad, if not worse."

Zendia could only bring herself to partially agree with Gendis. However, one statement truly raised her hackles. Before Rusty could even give out a "you shouldn't have said that," beep, Zendia was quick on the offensive. "I feel bad for those lost in our squad," she told Gendis. "And, I don't think I need to say my feelings regarding Alderaan. But ... don't you dare compare those Death Star barved vrelts to anyone on my lost planet!" she snarled, glaring vibrodaggers at the older man.
As her tirade died down, Rusty took a moment to show a pair of holograms. One was of the late Wilhuff Tarkin. And the next was of Veron Starsinger, Zendia's 10-year-old brother. At the latter, the little droid gave a baleful hoot.
