Danna nodded, frowning a little as she tried to concentrate. The Professors's teaching method didn't really suit her, and she got the distinct feeling that she'd understand the material better if, say, Astaroth explained it to her. She leaned over to him between his questions, and whispered. "I'd like it if you and I could go over this again, after class." She murmured. She thought she understood the concepts, but she wanted to be sure she wasn't misinterpreting things.

Cyphr's eyes were lolling in his head. He was halfway between hallucinating and falling asleep. The fancy lights and shapes were making him zone out, and all these big words just hurt his brain to try to pronounce. The shapes in his notes had since become very poor rudimentary drawings of dogs and houses, and the Professor with big dragon wings coming out of his head. This class could end any time now. If Cyphr didn't move soon, he'd either seize up or fall apart compeltely. Plop, plopl, thud. All over the floor, squishy Cyphr pieces, just like that. The thoguht was so fun to imagine that Cyphr squirmed in his chair and giggled to himself.

Grave took careful notes, and slowly replicated the teacher's diagrams with utmost care to have them all precise. Whent he mention of Substitution came up, Grave perked even more. Now, this was something he could certainly make use of! He jotted down a few exemplary notes in the margin of his page. When the clever new Melancholy continued his barage of questions Grave began to pay him more attention. Quite a knowledgable fellow, it seemed. Grave wondered if he'd see him aronud the Library at all. He'd have to make a point of introducing himself after class finished.

Zethyr, much to his dismay had been tugged over to sit by Dariyn, who was again by himself...so suffice to say, he had been watching Lior and Cash...with a strangely perturbed expression. Mmmnngh. There went any hope of learning anything at all in this class. For once he wished he knew origami like Lior did...then at least he'd know how to make something that could glide...and perhaps smack the other upside the head with it and get his attention.

Yeah...he'd like that.

Dariyn was studiously taking notes on everything...digesting the information that Paxar was spewing as though he was born to it. Again...not his favorite subject, but he could do it, and that was all that mattered at the moment. Casting an eye in Zethyr's direction, he followed the Melancholy's gaze and sighed softly...

Looks like the other would be copying off his notes again later. Maybe. If he wasn't out reclaiming his territory.

Astaroth's attention was diverted from the professor as Danna spoke and he turned, nodding, "I see no problem with that. It is Free Period after this, correct? So we'll have plenty of time to go over things."

Kallisto was beginning to fidget. Copying down the diagrams and notes was only so stimulating. Her mind felt like it was being attacked by the barrage of information that she was trying futilely to absorb. It made her head hurt. The bright, glittering lights didn't help either and she looked away, focusing on the page before her.

Would this class never end? Any more mention of math and her brain was in danger of imploding. Substitution could wait. She needed to clear her mind Her gaze drifted over to Grave and she nibbled on the end of her quill wondering if he wouldn't mind sparring again. She had enjoyed it the last time around.

Paxar nodded his head at astaroth's answer, smiling quite delightedly. "Quite so, yes, yes, indeed!" Paxar burbled. "Geometry is, for lack of a better explanation, the skill of using shapes. Different Shapes mean different things, and the ways that different objects interact has different influences on all parties involved, especially those caught in the middle of these interactions. You most commonly see this in Astrology, and certainly the majority of Circle Magic is based on these principles.
There are two types of Geometrics: Inclusive and Inducive." Paxar paused, licked his lips and held up one hand. He quickly formed a circle and a little stick figure at the center of it. The diagram spun slowly above his palm like a hologram might.
"Inclusive means that the power the shape holds takes effect on anything within the shape, whether it be Two-Dimensional or Three-Dimensional. These can easily be constructed around, drawn around, or the item placed within them to have a desired effect. Some are helpful and others hindering. The forms used to affect whatever they surround are called Shapes." Paxar held up the other hand and constructed two loose scribbly figures and between them drew a connecting line. This image too began spinning about in the air above Paxar's palm.
"Inducive means that the effect between two or more entities or bodies causes a form of energy or influence between them that will then affect any object caught in their path, or within their effect radius. These are most often applied to planets, stars, and forces like friction and gravity. As one becomes more adept, one can begin to spin lines of geometrics out of the essence in the surrounding world to fabricate these Inducive Geometrics. The reactions between the objects involved in Inducive Geometrics are called Aspects." Paxar smiled and blinked at the class to see if they were pleased by this piece of information.

Astaroth listened intently, then his hand rose again, "Would placing an object within a sphere result in a stronger effect from the inclusive geometry then it would by placing the same object within a two dimensional circle?"

To put it simply, Astaroth was fascinated. Math seemed to click precisely into place and the options that were spreading out before him put in a very good mood. Why, if someone annoying were to come along and pester him he might actually ask for them to leave instead of telling them to. He seemed to glow as he drank in the information, his quill flying across the page. The pause he took was to underline the phrase "spin lines of geometrics out of the essence in the surrounding world to fabricate these Inducive Geometrics". That in particular intrigued him, as he guessed that that was what the professor had been doing when they'd entered the classroom.

Kallisto sighed with relief. At least that made sense and meant she wasn't completely lost. She'd have to find help and hopefully catch up. While she wasn't particularly interested in Circle Magic, it was a required step on the path to become a Grigori and she wouldn't let this difficulty dissuade her from what she'd decided.

Mat was doing little more at this point other than copying down whatever Paxar said. Now that he was in the class, Math did actually seem pretty interesting but all of this was going a little too fast for him to keep up with. He glanced up for a moment and eyed Grave's careful notes with a soft sigh. Looked like he'd be tracking down his lover for some help later ... that would be good.

He could barely grasp the basics of all this at the moment, numbers and shapes whirling behind his eyes with no form or function to them. It was starting to make him a little dizzy, somehow, and he shoved everything away but the need to transfer Paxar's words onto paper.

"No actually," Paxar murmured, clicking his talons together. "Two-Dimensional shapes hold different properties than their three-dimensiaonal counter-parts. In this particular example, Circles are the most powerful of the protective Shapes. Circles are intensified if drawn with potent materials, such as salt for purification and against spiritual attack, blood against physical attack, purified water against monsters, and sacred earth against Outsiders. Spheres, on the otherhand, are clairvoyant, offering vision, clarity and foresight to scryers and prophets. As a rule they can contain concepts and energies, and not physical matter." Paxar smiled and sat back on his haunches, stretching out his front legs.

Cash immediately began to color, and began to scribble back a note so as to hide his warming cheeks. 'You're silly sometimes, you know that? Cute handwriting. I've never heard of such a thing. You're just trying to get me to blush, aren't you?' he passed the note back, arching an eyebrow, even as he kept one ear on the things Paxar was saying, dutifully taking notes.

'He is Broken,' she penned simply. Waiting for a goodly amount of time, she calmly scribbled out the small notation, hoping that Aysel would understand. Such things... They shouldn't be discussed in such an impersonal way. Perhaps she was being silly, but...

Yambati lifted his head from where he was scribbling notes, eyes shining with interest.

"So, does it only matter what the original Shape is? Because I know that, at least with circles, the area of effect is definitely three-dimensional - usually a cylinder, if I'm not mistaken."

"The initial shape, yes." Paxar agreed, a little less lucidly. He reared up on his haunches and flicked out his thick tail. "The ultimate application arises from optimum positioning of the desired target at primal centre of the key Shape." Paxar murmured eerily, as he curled himself up into a Draconic ball and tucked his chin to his chest. And then the Professor closed his eyes and his breathing grew slower and deeper, and aside from a rhythmic twitching on his tail-tip, the Professor was still.

Nadyrr's hat was pulled down over his hair still damp from the shower. He'd taken time to clean up to get the muck from working the the gardens off of him, he realized that it probably made him later then he already was. Though he considered to himself that already he was quite late and had missed some classes, frowning to himself Nadyrr wondered how much he actually cared about such. Peeking into the back of the class he stood quietly in a shadow listening to them ask about geometries. As he listened he glanced around trying to find a good spot to get to that wouldn't draw too much attention to himself. Inching over quickly to a very back seat away from the others he takes out a notebook along with his quills and ink.

He sets up quickly and takes a few notes on what he has heard, though he has a feeling these notes might not be the best of help to him later on. With a wince he reaches over and just barely catches his ink bottle before it falls over having been knocked lightly by his hand. Flushing a bright orange color he sets a moment very still and then glances around hoping he didn't catch attention. Then settling more calmly in his seat frowns and tries to catch what all is going on.

Eleuthero kept his long wings cocked and pulled up tight as he made his slow and deliberate way through the crowded hallways and into his still empty classroom.

He made his way to the front of the room and arched his tail up to sit into his leather chair and pulled the matching ottoman closer with one bird-like clawed foot. He adjusted his thick robes with a rustle and a sigh, and opened a well-loved wooden chest on his adjacent desk to remove a long black-stone pipe and pressed a small pinch of something silvery and crystaline deep into the bowl. Soon enough the students would be filing into the classroom. He gave a measured glance to the old grandfather clock set next to his desk and nodded to himself. He lit the pipe with a touch of a Fire Elemental Charm hung about his neck and gave a long slow drag on the pipe, causing a silver spark of light to curl up from his pipe and burst into a small starburst.

It seemed that Blayk was going to be the first student to enter the classroom. Pushing open the door, she poked her head into the classroom. For a brief moment, she considered walking back out, but for what purpose? Even if there had been another student in the room, it wasn't as if she knew any of them. So with a shrugging of her shoulder to place the bag that held all of her books into a more comfortable place, she strode into the room, boots clomping a bit on the floor, as her walk couldn't be termed 'graceful'. She folded herself into a seat, nodding towards the teacher with a half-smile as she began to take out her note-taking materials.

Arwen entered the class shortly after Blayk, her gentle porcelain features alight with what could only be described as excitement. It was finally time for class, and she wasn't going to miss it this time! All the necessary utensils and materials were folded in her arms, hugged against her chest tightly. While she had expected to be feeling somewhat nervous, the Melancholy girl was practically aglow with thrill.

Crimson and charcol skirts whispered against her darkly clad legs as she took a seat near the front of the class, carefully laying her supplies down on the desk as her bright red eyes swept over the Professor. Tucking a deep garnet lock of hair behind her ear, she intoned softly and politely to the elder, "Good morning, Professor." She was amazed by his appearance, both sharp and soft, her curiosity eating at her as she pushed it back; it was time for class, not staring so rudely! Arwen was smiling to herself as she laid out her notebook and favorite quill, readying herself with anticipation at the start of her formal studies.

Kallisto was pleased with herself. The last free period had been an especially busy one and it gave her an optimistic outlook for this next block of classes. While she wasn't particularly interested in Philosophy, she still hoped she could learn some useful things from such a class - it was there for a reason after all.

Upon entering the room, the sanguine held back, looking for Yambati. While she knew a few of the students it would be nice to learn alongside some one important to her. Setting her hand on her hip, she leaned against the wall and waited.

----

Astaroth was looking forward to class. He'd spent the majority of the free period studying in the library or his dorm room and to be able to actually test the knowledge he'd accumulated excited him. Philosophy sounded interesting and he hurried along, pulling at the heavy bag as he wondered if the title of Philosophy was as misleading as Mathematics was.

Upon entering the classroom, he nearly ran into a sanguine girl who was loitering about that back as though waiting for someone. With a sharp glance, he eased by and settled in his usual spot near the front of the class. He took care, however, to leave an extra seat beside him should Danna wish to join him.

---

Daggart wandered into the classroom, curios as to what class this might be. His schedule had been badly beaten up during his adventures during the free period and all that remained legible was the class location. He held a small notebook and bag with supplies but hoped he did have to actually use them - he much preferred working with his hands. Cooking and Crafting had been wonderful for that.

Plunking down in a seat about midway back, the choleric placed his bag down and set up his book only to promptly lean forward and tuck his head into his arms as though they were a pillow. Once class started he'd actually try to pay attention but until then, he had some sleep to catch up on.
