Alyx was granted a reprieve, and took it gladly as he downed a strawberry brew, relishing the warmth of the liquor as it filled his body with power. These brews were going to be sorely missed when they eventually ran out of them. He rocked his arms forward and backward in their sockets. "Thank you for waiting." Raising his shield, Alyx decided to build a little momentum before getting back into the thick of combat and the push toward victory. Once they got this thing below fifty percent, Alyx imagined that they would pull out just about every stop and beat it into the ground as hard and as fast as they possibly could, which is not a terrible way of doing things, honestly. He just wanted to have that precious, precious loot at the end of the painbow. So, for now, he would turtle up and build some AP.

As much as Rota hated it, the cacophony HAD to continue. It was working. His hits were more decisive than ever. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but this sword was even better than the one he created. A small piece of his pride was damaged by not only that thought, but that fact. He needed something to kill. Conveniently, the boar was attacking recklessly, leaving its supple flesh relatively undefended. Perfect. The wails from the demon blade ripped through the air as it tore through atmosphere towards its prey. Devour. Consume. Rend. Destroy.

Main-Hand:Demon Iron Greatsword: An utterly massive THSS, left behind by the Demon Blacksmith as a broken, incomplete artifact. Repaired and completed by Rota Emptiet Abyssian, this blade has been given new life. At twice the thickness of a normal THSS, and longer than a greatsword, this weapon is an impossibly heavy monstrosity, but its black blade, decorated with weaving lines of deep red demon blood has an unmistakably powerful edge. The reforging has restored the body of the weapon, but it has awoken a slumbering spirit of hunger within the blade. The warm iron calls out for blood, and as it moves through the air the vibrating blade almost moans, crying out to slake its bloodthirst. This weapon has a bottomless hunger, and, if one can control the unease that they feel around such an artifact, they might begin to wonder what would ever happen if its unholy desire was ever truly quenched.

Alyx took the bumbling hit of the boar on his shield to the tune of Yakkity Sax and decided to ride this wave of win on to greater heights. He wanted enough AP to really open this thing up. He wanted to stack a dozen poisons on this thing, and watch its health shrivel up like most things did when they were injected with the venom of an army of man-eating arachnids. Frankly, the amount of toxins that were pumping through this thing's body already were ludicrous enough, but Alyx was ready to get even ludicrouser. There had to be an amount of venom that would make this monster suffer visibly, and Alyx was going to find it.

The FEAST wasn't as decisive as others, but it did seem to rock the Boar a good bit. Rota was satisfied with that. This fight needed to Maim quickly. He couldn't shake the whispers continuously itching at the Kill of his mind. Prey was admittedly attacking better this time, but it was still useless. it still had itself right on death's door, whether it CONSUME it or not. The blade remained aura'd as it tore the Slaughter as it passed. This needed to end as fast as possible. Rota didn't know how much time he DEVOUR. DEVOUR. DEVOUR!!!

The player was beginning to get nervous. Things were going fine, but now the character model for Rota was beginning to.. Jitter would be a good word. A red/black flash accompanied by an uncontrollable, unnatural twitch glitch in his movements. He was still in control, but wouldn't a bug like this have been caught in playtesting? This was a closed beta, sure, but this was a pretty substantial bug. maybe it didn't pop up that often. Still, those words popping up on the screen were not helping his mental state any.

Alyx caught another of the beast's attacks on Aegis of the Usurper, and was none the worse for wear. Apparently it had to recover from its ludicrous rage-spree. That was fine, by his reckoning. His AP was climbing steadily, and he was able to catch his breath for a bit. He probably had enough energy to really wreck the boar now, though, so he'd go ahead and begin. Raising Gloomfang, Alyx channeled his energy into the blade, which began to softly shimmer in preparation of the coming attack. "Time to really open up on this b*****d." Alyx was reinvigorated as he watched the creature's health bar transition into the yellow, and he roared in excitement. "We almost have him!"

Cthaer had just checked the bounty board, and discovered that there was now a bounty board. On that bounty board was a job talking about 'ghosts'. Cthaer was skeptical. He decided to explore and search for evidence of these spirits. Who better to hunt down things that can't be seen than someone who is trying to learn how to never be seen? It made sense to him. Creeping through the shadows, Cthaer felt at home, and he set off directionless into the Gloomwood, following whatever path he could to stay hidden. If there were things that were hiding out here, it was best to not let them know that he was out here. Sneaking up on them might just be the best way to get this information. As for now, it appeared that the only movement nearby was a small rabbit sniffing around. He could probably kill it without bothering himself too much, but he decided to just give it a lookover and move on. The less noise he made out here the better.

Another successful Harvest. Rota GORE to keep up this pace, but with all of the Crush in his brain, it was getting hard to stay focused on that task at DEVOUR. He shook his head and Ki-unched the demon sword. "I am sick of your s**t child. You listen to me! Get the Hell OUT of my head, or so help me gods I will FEED YOU to your Brother! Don't think I WON'T!" Rota sat there for a couple seconds, as he felt the itching at the back of his mind somewhat struggle against itself. Eventually, they started to quiet down. Satisfied with the conclusion, but still feeling some of that scrape that he was sure wasn't going to go away as long as he held this sword, he pressed on.

The player was somewhat relieved. His plan had worked...somewhat. The text had stopped entirely, but still some of the Jitter remained. it was less drastic now, since it was timed to the text before, but it still happened occasionally.

Main-Hand:Demon Iron Greatsword: An utterly massive THSS, left behind by the Demon Blacksmith as a broken, incomplete artifact. Repaired and completed by Rota Emptiet Abyssian, this blade has been given new life. At twice the thickness of a normal THSS, and longer than a greatsword, this weapon is an impossibly heavy monstrosity, but its black blade, decorated with weaving lines of deep red demon blood has an unmistakably powerful edge. The reforging has restored the body of the weapon, but it has awoken a slumbering spirit of hunger within the blade. The warm iron calls out for blood, and as it moves through the air the vibrating blade almost moans, crying out to slake its bloodthirst. This weapon has a bottomless hunger, and, if one can control the unease that they feel around such an artifact, they might begin to wonder what would ever happen if its unholy desire was ever truly quenched.

Cthaer was sufficiently stealthy to elude the senses of the most terrifying monster in the gloomwood, and activated his most-used skill to the little thing just to grind out a few extra points with the skill. There was no sense in disturbing it, but he was going to get the most work out of these abilities as he could. If he had any idea where these skills would be going, it was going to be in a wonderful and entirely overpowered direction, so he wanted to get there as quickly as humanly --shadily?-- possible. Once he'd had his look, he'd go ahead and move on. There was a lot of gloomwood left to explore, and only an infinite amount of time in which to do it. It was a race against the clock.

Alyx stabbed the boar twice, and got in way too close as he did so. The thing's eyes shined brightly as it raged out and bucked hard, catching Alyx on one of its tusks and ragdolling him as he held on with his shield arm like the least likely cowboy riding the world's most flamboyantly dressed bull. He had two options: let go and go flying, or ride out the attack and keep stabbing. He chose to keep stabbing. It was his original plan, and it seemed to be working alright so far. He was still doing pretty well on health, and he wasn't likely going to begin suffering horrible, copious amounts of blood loss in the nearest future, so he felt comfortable taking a little risk to exercise his poisoning muscles.

And now that he had excised his mental issues, Rota had scored the most decisive hit in a long while. Sometimes one just needs to punch their sword in the face and show it who's boss. he smiled as the aura dropped and he continued slashing apart the boar bit by bit. He could feel it beginning to ebb away. it truly was on death's door now. All that was left was to keep flaying it until it burst into billions upon googleplexes of shards. Alyx was taken for a ride, and it actually paid off. Since he was holding so closely to the animal, it wasn't doing an amazing job of building up the momentum necessary to murder him. As a result, he took remarkably little damage. So he could focus even more on perforating the creature until it was filled with more holes dripping with toxins than a hobo's afghan. He could make a habit of this whole 'grab-the-enemy-and-don't-let-go' thing. It wasn't exactly complete offense, and not entirely defense. It was an offense so aggressive that it became defensive, and that was just about what he needed sometimes, if he couldn't find the inverse anywhere.

Rota's stamina had returned to him, and it felt like he had enough to last out this ride of the brew. He had to make it count, no matter what. "You ready to start playing nice with me? We need to work together on this. if you keep trying to dominate me, you'll never get what you want. I am willing to feed you, sate you, but you need to trust me enough to do that on my own."
