Ќaze found this boy odd. "Yes, I am a Genin." Kaze said, reinforcing the statement his had just said regarding his rank. Kaze found it odd that this boy could see the difference between Shinji and Kaze. It was funny. Just, very funny. "Hmmm. Fuuton and Suiton... Hyouton. Interesting." Kaze said, examining Kenji from top to bottom. Kenji reminded Kaze of what Shinji had said of him and Emily earlier. Maybe Kenji was also unique. Well, due to a clan.. Or bloodline.

"My elements? Doton and Katon." Kaze said relaxing himself. He felt that Kenji was a good kid, and not some future enemy. Kaze, at this point was completely relaxed by his environment. Sure, there were more people here than he remembered, but that just means more people have graduated from the Academy in jutsu a year. Kenji must have been apart of that group. Hmmm.

"Thats interesting. Elemental combinations. Thats something hard to find now-a-days." Of course, it was no new subject to Kaze. He could not, of course, use Elemental Combinations yet, but he has read books on it, like he does for everything else.

"Anyway, Kenji. I'll see you around, 'kay?" Kaze then placed his hand on Kenji's head, and smirked. Thereafter, removing his hand, he left the Training Grounds.

" Good bye Kaze. I hope to see you again. " Kenji said bowing respectfully to his elder. ' Doton and Katon... Only one of my elements can beat one, and the other two have no direct relation, except one can power the other a great deal... ' Kenji thought to himself. ' We could either be powerful allies or a great match... Hopefully it never comes to the latter. ' Kenji thought, shaking his head vigorously. " Gotta stop thinking like that. I'm a ninja now, If I doubt those who came before me, then It'll just lead to a life of paranoia. " Kenji said, directly quoting something his father always said. Funny though, his boss always said it too. " Kenji said, placing his hand on his chin in a comical way in deep thought. Suddenly Kenji's eyes snapped open and Kenji let out a short yelp. He was late for work! Even though he was a ninja now, he should at least finish the year off! " Crap, what should I tell the boss... " Kenji said squatting down and sighing, tracing his finger though the dirt.

The sweat started to poor down Gage’s face as he listened to his sensei. Yes, it was true, he was almost out of chakra. “I… I… I should have enough for the next jutsu…” He said, the words stumbling out of his mouth. He was going to accomplish this last jutsu for the night. He glanced up at the sky and noticed it was getting late. Now-a-days, that was the only way to tell if it was day or night. For the past two years he had been training to be an assassin, day and night had no real meaning to him, none-the less, he needed his sleep if he wanted to learn all the fire jutsu available to him.

“Ok… I… think… I think I have it…” He stumbled through his words again as his fingers began to perform the hand seals Shinji had shown him. The pain in Gage’s arms began to go to the extreme as he slowly preformed the hand signs. The sweat was poring down his face as he finally was able to maneuver his hands fast enough for the required hand seals. This time, though, when Gage did the hand seals, his speed wasn’t good at all, anyone watching would have had time to escape, but that didn’t matter now, he was just training. ‘Focus the fire within to the lungs…’ He thought as he began to feel the burn within his lungs. ‘Exhale with all of your might…’ He thought as he outlined his lips with his index finger and thumb. “Shoumeidan no Jutsu…” He breathed as he exhaled with all of his might. A straight line of fire emerged from his mouth and reached about ten inches away from him. Then it began to take the form of a small fire ball, it reached a total diameter of three feet before diminishing. ‘Well, that was better then I expected’ Gage thought as he hands fell to his side and just drooped there, almost lifeless. “Is… Is… Is that it for the day…?” Gage asked as he stumbled over to a near by tree and leaned on it. The small amounts of pain that surged his lips didn't matter to him right now, it was only rest that plauged his mind. He began to drift in and out of consciousness as he waited for his sensei's reply.

With a small chuckle, Shinji allowed a grin to cross his face as he saw his training had exhausted the young boy. He never knew what it was like to be "low" on chakra... but he understood that everyone had their limits. Obviously, he was rather exhausted, so it would do no good to push him any further at the moment. He heard Kay speak up and give him some advice, but Shinji promptly ignored her advice, not valuing the opinion of a "teacher" as lazy as she was.

Turning to Gage, Shinji moved over to the boy and patted him on the shoulder roughly, probably jarring him a bit rougher then he should have. "Haha... sure sure Gage, you can stop for the day. You've done good work. Next lesson, we'll finish with the final technique and then move on to harder jutsu... or whatever else you'd like to learn next." Stepping aside, Shinji cleared a path for the boy so he would feel free to go, but waited fro him to be gone before doing anything else himself.

Ready to move on, Shinji cracked his knuckles, and cricks his neck a few times before loosening up, recalling the hand seals he had memorized from before. Moving through the hand seals slowly until he had them down, Shinji then gathered his chakra to him, performing the hand seals once more at full speed as he attempted to channel his chakra out to his side. "Katon: Yojin Bunshin no Jutsu" Flames jumped off of Shinji, forming as the chakra passed into the air, creating larger embers of flame which began to coalesce into a thin frame off to the side of him. But then, just when it began to take his form, the flames withered away and died, dissipating into the wind.

"Damn... not enough juice on that one, let's try that again." Knowing that he had a tendency to be conservative with his first attempts at jutsu, Shinji realized that just as he had told Gage, he would also have to stop holding back on the first run. the difference between them however was that Shinji wasn't so much afraid of releasing the power, but it was simply hard channeling and controlling it all. Casting this aside however, Shinji pulled more chakra to him this time, feeling it gather with strength inside him. weaving the hand seals again, Shinji molded the chakra and felt it push out from him, though this time the embers leaped off of him on both sides. the embers grew and molded as the technique was formed, making perfect copies of himself on either side of him, which simultaneously looked at each other.

With a quick grin at his creations, Shinji pushed both of his arms out, each of his clones running forward on his command into the training field. Turning around, they each pulled kunai from their pouches, charging at each other to attack one another until. just before they would strike each other however, Shinji formed a final seal, detonating each clone in a spray of embers and incendiary flame which exploded off of the clone sand collided with each other in an impressive glow of fire and ember in the night air. The blast overjoyed Shinji however as the clone's detonations had been about twice as large as each of the clones seemed to be... a reminder of the amount of chakra Shinji had poured into it, hiding a quite nasty surprise to any opponent who would be unfortunate enough to be caught in it.

XXX Gage walked up slowly to the training grounds. So far it had been a pretty slow day. He had killed four hours of time without even trying. That was pretty bad. Anyways, as he walked up to the training grounds, he noticed the many markings, indentures, and burn marks on the trees. ‘What the???’ He thought as he pressed his hand against the nearest tree. ‘What the hell happened here…’ he thought as he finally saw a kunai imbedded into a tree, but what put the icing on the cake was the three squirrels trying to pull it out of the tree with the same Katana that they tried to kill him with the day before.

XXX With one big heave, Gage watched as the squirrels worked together and pulled the kunai out with ease. ‘Amazing…’ He thought as he sat down on the ground. He watched as the squirrels did the same for several other kunai before noticing him. They hissed before they scampered up the nearest tree with their weapons in tow. ‘Oh wow…’ He thought as he stood and removed his shirt and jacket. ‘I better get some training in before Shinji gets here, I don't want him to think I'm just a lazy buzzard.’ He thought as he grabbed three kunai out of his ninja tool’s bag. He began to juggle the three kunai in his hands. ‘Now, I close my eyes…’ He said as he closed his eyes and tossed the kunai up high into the air. Gage walked up a few feet then held three fingers from his left hand and waited for a few second.

XXX Then you heard the kunai come down with intense speed. ‘Swish… Swish… THUD…’ Gage had managed to hook two of the three kunai and was pissed because he missed the last one. “Crap! Now I got a dang cut on my finger for a darn mistake, it’s stupid crap like this that’ll get me and my team killed…” He said as he retrieved the third kunai from the ground. He had each back end of the kunai wrapped around his three inner fingers. He looked around till he saw three notches in the same tree.. ‘Now there’s a challenge…’ He thought as he noted that the three lines where horizontal and not parallel. Gage moved slowly, pretending the tree was his enemy, and began to slowly cloak himself within the shadows of near by objects. Once Gage felt that he was completely emerged into the shadows he flashed stepped into the target’s shadow. He knew this would be the most difficult position seeing that the shadow was on the opposite side of the indentions.

XXX ‘Ok, here we go…’ He thought as he flashed stepped out of the shadows. He looked as if he was laying in mid air, but in reality he was spinning at a unnoticeable pace. Suddenly and without warning the three kunai came flying out simultaneously. ‘Thud… Thud… Thud…’ Each hit the targer, but Gage couldn’t see just yet. He landed on his hands and completed a back flip. He walked over to the tree and looked at each kunai position. The middle one was dead on., save for it made an X instead of hitting in the exact angle. ‘Hell yah…’ He thought as he checked the other two. The bottom one was a half inch low and the top one was a half in high. “Close enough…” He said withdrawing his Kunai and noticing that they where really old and where beginning to chip. He tossed them up into the air and heard them either be caught or hit and sink into the tree above. “Your welcome…” He said as he walked over to a near by stump. He retrieved his shirt and jacket, put his shirt on and dropped his jacket down again. He sat on the stump and waited for Shinji’s return.
