Asternyx hadn't been to class for a few days because she was excused for helping the other Konoha members settle in (running minor errands around and etc.). The Hyuuga child slipped into the classroom, pale eyes gazing up to the board. A frown played on her lips as she had missed quite alot, as it would seem - the Genjutsu and Nawanuke lessons and now the class was on Kakuremino no Jutsu. Additionally, it would appear she have an overdue homework assignment to finish and turn in. What to begin on... Alright, she will start on Kakuremino first before worrying about catching up.

Asternyx lightly trotted up to the teacher's desk and took three of the extra invisibility cloaks. The child draped the first cloak around her like a cape before heading outside to practice her camouflage. As brief was her return to the classroom, just as quiet was the Hyuuga girl's exit. After all, this child preferred to be alone...and would rather not have to practice the Kakuremino with the other Students. And though she understood the necessity for bringing animal partners in for training as early possible...she never really did like the Inuzuka clan of her village.

That first trail Asternyx had practiced near the Academy wall. It hadn't taken her long to figure out the Kakuremino... And after her first successful trail, the child stopped to deeply inhale the crisp, clean air of the mountains, a daydream-like expression on her face. Peace and quiet, just as she wanted. Asternyx stopped momentarily, to look down and observe the second invisibility cloak she had chosen: it had the pattern of a fence printed.

It was a simple enough task, using the school fence correctly. And with a calculating mind like hers, it wasn't all that difficult to figure out where exactly to blend the cloak in. With her second trail successful, Asternyx slowly lowered the invisibility cloak. So only one more trail was required of her, hn... A blank expression crossed her face. Why couldn't the Academy teach more useful things? And to be honest, she did not feel all that bad for missing the Genjutsu lesson...after all, it was a simple overview on escaping Genjutsus, but was not about teaching the actual Kai technique.

Hn... So she was running low on chakra. Asternyx paused for a moment, looking up, before allowing the invisibility cloak to crumple around her. She wasn't stupid enough to risk overstraining her chakra system...and so, she shall take a break then. The child dropped into sitting position on the ground, almost naturally into the lotus position. She stiffly held her hands in the Tiger handseal...forming an actual seal did help her concentrate scattered focus.

Cp: 2/4

Molding was actually a much complicated process than it seems. And especially for an Academy Student, quite new to this process...it would require every bit of concentration. A single distraction could ruin the process. Asternyx had her eyes calmly closed, summoning the energy of her spirit while drawing out physical energy of her body. The next step would be to combine the two energies to form chakra... A calm breath and a light flare of blue swirled around the child.

Cp:3/4

Perhaps the fact because she fairly enjoyed meditation was the reason why the chakra molding process doesn't bother, or for the most part, strain her. Yet, Asternyx insisted on keeping her eyes closed - she liked to feel so close to nature. After all, chakra did not just come from humans, it was everywhere - in all living things. Meditation...in many aspects helped her to "connect" with the chakras of other beings...and calms her soul while strengthening the "inner" physical energy.

Cp: 4/4

Again she was thinking in terms normal Academy Students would not understand. A small smile played on her pale lips - that was why Asternyx had chosen to avoid the company of others. She wasn't contemptuous of it, but accepted the plain fact that she was different from others. Uchihas may be able to live normally without much trouble...but for Hyuugas, with their eyes recognizable all around...the basic story just wasn't the same. After a long moment, Asternyx opened her eyes. She had gathered enough chakra, and it was time.

For the last phase of the Kakuremino, it was to go differently than the other trails. Pale eyes blinked once: what had she learned so far? Ah, yes... The three basic Academy techniques: Henge, Kawarimi, and Bunshin. It would be quite inconveniencing to always carry around so many different invisibility cloaks. Up to this point, Asternyx had been using chakra to cover the edges of the invisibility cloaks to "blend in" with the backgrounds. And what if she also use that chakra to change the cloak's appearance? Like a normal Henge, except done on an object...

Theoretically, it wasn't impossible. Asternyx bit nervously at her lower lip. Then, what had gone wrong? Kakuremino was not a "real" Jutsu...so maintaining two at once shouldn't have been impossible, even for an Academy Student. With a slight sigh, the Hyuuga child stared down and eyed the cloak. Should she do the Henge first and then follow with the Kakuremino? No...it was wasteful. And though she had more chakra than normal Students, she still have to take care and be conservative.

Now, what was that single word which could describe her disappointment? Frustrating... Asternyx thought in response. Yet, it was also almost expected - her clan was famous in Konoha as Taijutsu masters. And though they have begun to break those boundaries, those traditional stereotypes, much hard work and ardent dedication was required. Dedication? Thought the child. Just what was "real" dedication?

Perhaps it was that very same depressing thought that chilled her concentration. Asternyx sighed softly, wishing she hadn't been so unlucky to chance by the adults' whispered conversation. Oh yes, for the watchful child knew...that the Konoha refugees, as of the moment, were missing their Hokage. And that was one of the reasons why she had insisted on helping...even if it meant skipping class.

Cp: 2/4

Now, she wasn't being so contemptuous to suggest that she was far ahead enough in class to just "take a few days off". No, it was quite the opposite... How Asternyx had worried so about catching up! And indeed, there was much work to do. The only reason she had the heart to return to the Academy was because of Shikamori-sama's words: the only thing she could do right now was to become a shinobi, recognized as a Genin first before making Konoha proud.

Cp: 3/4

Adults... The child thought bitterly, an acrid taste in her mouth. How the other Hyuuga children remains so blissfully ignorant! Ignorance, ignorance... Asternyx brushed a loose lock of dark-red hair back. Though she had cut it a month before, it was becoming long and rather annoying again. Right now, she had more important matters...like regaining her lost chakra before continuing with this lesson.

Cp: 4/4

A soft sigh hitched in her throat as the child sat up straight. Asternyx glared at the sky, for all its calm blueness, so sure of itself...while she sits here wondering what would become of the future. The adults tell her often it wasn't in the children's agenda to worry: but how could she remain unworried if even the leaders were expressing doubt? It was decided, then. Asternyx hated how the children were always looked upon as defenseless.

And yet, ironic as it was that "prodigies" were only recognized in children. It was all the same, just a base line of standards set by the older generations...and the children who did better were lauded, while the children who fell short were chided. Did such standards even hold to any point? Always the same excuse from adults: 'you're too young to learn this and that'. But if children do not challenge themselves, then was it not true they shall always remain children? Perhaps this was how she felt, as she challenged herself to accomplish perhaps more than just what the requirements demanded.

Sometimes, she would feel so close to her goal - just beyond the slip of her fingers. A slight tilt of her head. Oh yes, those of her clan were stubborn: surrendering wasn't in their vocabulary. And always, that same hatred towards losing...of falling short. Perhaps that was why many of her clan became cynical - enjoying to point out the faults of others while unable to see their own. But the Hyuugas of the last and this generation were not like that...if all in anything, more had become either open or simply distanced themselves from others. Yet, the snide comments, only perhaps once a while, had for the most part disappeared. Banishment had taught cooperation and teamwork towards a common goal.
