Children Of The Flame

Gion shrugged inwardly. I don't know, I don't know them yet. Maybe you should ask them.

He grinned, imagining the looks on Ulani and Ulrich's faces when they were given a talking sword.

Oh yes.... your mother said I can talk to those two... and you and her but no one else.

Daemon replied happy at the thought, at least he wouldn't be alone then, well he wasn't really alone he had Gion.

Gion blinked. Did she say why no one else? he asked. Besides that people would try to take you away from me and you probably wouldn't make it back to Gaia?

Well that and she was worried people might try to melt the sword down in an attempt to purify it.

Daemon added Serenity's other thought about that.

Talking swords are also under the list of demonic things.

Well, I have to admit, you ARE the first, Gion shrugged inwardly. New things are feared ... just like Mother and Elnara are. And we don't have magical objects in this world, not anything like in yours. I think the closest you would come here might be the glowstones ... well, there are the Elfstones, but that's a different matter entirely ...
PostPosted: Thu Mar 29, 2007 8:33 pm

Yes but glow stones don't talk back or tell if you something is going to hit you.

Daemon replied back drily.

That and I think it must be disconcerning to have an inanimate object talk back.

Gion was pleased. See, there, you DO understand! he thought triumphantly. Especially here, where nothing like that has ever happened before. And I'm going to assume that they're not all that common in your world either, if you also find it disconcerting to have an inanimate object talk back to you.

Well not possessed objects lik this.. or if there are most of the time they're dolls not swords... and dolls are just creepy.... my mother use to keep proceliean dolls.... I didn't like them all that much.
Daemon admitted, he didn't like the way they looked at him.

But at least dolls look something like people, in a way, Gion pointed out. It's not like some thing that doesn't even look like something that would normally be able to communicate if it were alive, it doesn't look like anything that would ever be alive. I mean ... a doll versus a sword. Come on.

He chuckled a bit, then yawned. It was getting quite late already - after all, it had been dark for quite a while before he and Serenity had even arrived here. He wondered where he would be sleeping.

You have to see these dolls, the fact they look like people probably what makes them creepy... and their eyes... the glass eyes so they catch the gliten of the light to at make them more real.....
Daemon replied again.

Which would make it even more believable than a talking sword, Gion agreed. I believe you. Though why anyone would want to make a doll out of glass, I can't imagine.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 05, 2007 10:31 am

Daemon laughed a bit.

Not the whole doll... the doll is made out of something else... some sort of cremenic which I'm not sure what it's made up of... it's just the eyes that are glass. Those are very old fashion dolls though, they don't really make them for anything other than collecting since children tend to be rough on their toys.

Gion shrugged inwardly.

Well, kids will be kids, he replied simply. And kids have energy. Can't really expect much else, can you?
PostPosted: Thu Apr 05, 2007 11:31 am

No you can't.

Daemon chuckled at the mere thought of it, he was getting use to these other sounds in which he had to think.

Ulani and Ulrich meanwhile had begun to clear the table, declining Serenity's offer to help.

"You just get Gion settled in Terexin's old room," Ulani told Serenity with a smile. "He looks pretty tired, it might be best for him just to go to sleep right away."

Serenity nodded slowly, but raised one eyebrow. "You're talking as if he's a little kid," she laughed. "He's eighteen, after all!"

Ulrich was surprised. "You're kidding, right?"

Serenity shook her head, smiling. "He ... just never grew like the rest of them," she shrugged. She got to her feet and beckoned for Gion to follow her.
