The lick caught him by surprise, he hadn't even noticed she had shifted. Smiling more he pet her between the ears. He needed to get his head back on right. "Come on, shift back and I'll take you to the park." Picking her up he wrote a note for Moya and left it on the crib, Pulling his hood up and going out the door, not stopping until they were at the park.

Shilo shifted back and was sitting on her dad's forearm, watching all the people walk by and give her dad compliments on the way to the park.
Moya heard Nik talking in the baby monitor and sagged on the bed, sobs starting to take over. She never thought her brother would have been so kind, so understanding. It just made her hurt more to have cast him away like she did.

He smiled and nodded to them all, adjusting her in his arm before setting her in one of the baby swings while scouting. "Let me know if it gets too high for you." He started pushing her lightly, waiting a bit before pushing a little harder so she was going a little higher, waiting for her to say something. In all his years he never thought he would bet at a park with a child of his own. It probably helped though that Shilo already looked at least a few months old, maybe close to a year. At this point she would probably slow down, maybe even stop for awhile.

Shilo laughed happily and clapped her hands as she went higher and higher. It made her feel like she was going very fast and she liked that feeling. She wiggled in the swing and made the chain move around a little. She grabbed onto it at the wrong time and it pinched her hand pretty good, giving her a blood blister on it. She started to scream loudly in pain.

((*loud growl*))
When he heard her scream he stopped the swing immediately, picking her up and studying her hand. She got it good in the chain, the blood blister had already formed. "Easy Shilo, easy. It's ok." He kissed her cheek and took her over to the drinking fountain, making sure the water was nice and cool before putting her injured hand under the stream. "Here, this'll help a little."

Shilo hid her face in her dad's chest when he was done running the water on her hand. It still hurt but not so much anymore. She looked up at him after a bit then looked around the park again, wondering what she could play with and not hurt herself on.

He smiled and kissed the top of her head, adjusting her in his arms again before taking her over to the sandbox, setting her down on the side. "We'll start small this time, ok?" Spotting a small stone wall right next to the sandbox he went over and leaned against it, crossing his arms as he watched her. The box already had toys in it to use in the sand, a few buckets and shovels here and there.

She looked around and then started to pick up the sand. It felt strange in her hand so she decided not to try to put it in her mouth. She ran her hands through it and started to giggle. She crawled over to a bucket, not noticing really that she was moving and picked it up, looking in it. It had small bits of the sand in it and decided to put more in it with her hands. It took her a while but she got it full and then tipped it upside down, making a small tower. She had no idea how she did it but she thought it cool before shifting and pouncing at it.

He smiled even more at that, watching her play. The park was semi deserted, but it wouldn't have mattered if anyone saw her shift anyway. It was a pretty open village. Still as he watched her, he wished Moya could be there to see it. The whole thing was just funny, like Shilo was off in her own little world. At least she wasn't eating the sand, that was a good thing.

Shilo shifted again and then filled up a few buckets with her hands, putting them in rows before shifting and pouncing on them. She rolled around after finishing that round of pouncing, resting up before she would go at it again.

Nik shook his head though the smile was still on his face, kneeling down on one knee by Shilo and petting her lightly. "We're going to have to give you a bath when we get home, or Mama might get mad at me for letting you get so dirty." There was sand in her fur, and patches of it were sticking up in random places. "Don't get eaten by squirrels."

Shilo whimpered and then turned around, looking for squirrels to attack for fun. She growled and looked up in the trees.
