"I don't know who you've been talking to, runt, but there are but few in the sith order who'd praise my genius. They will acknowledge my strength, but they will not praise me for it. High quality? Is that supposed to be the punch line?" Nakara spat.
"The key to the best jokes is to never let the audience know when they're coming. Follow me," he said, as he opened the door and slunk out.

Aurora walked back around her starfighter to stand next to Ritt, as he seemed to be doing a bit of reminiscing about his past.
“Will that be after my first combat shorty?” she asked looking up at him, smiling. The thought of him being called Susie was rather amusing and she wondered what they would name the rest of the squadron would pick for her.

"That'll be at 1400, actually. And it is," he said, drawing his sleeve to view the time, "0834. So plenty of time. All the so-called 'day' to spend doing whatever you need to do. Oh, one more thing," he said, fumbling through his jacket. He searched the left chest pocket, and withdrew a small, leatherbound journal, more than adequate for what was needed.
"This is a small journal. I've listed out the first several pages on things such as the instrument displays, brevity code, various maneuvers, etcetera. Things you need to memorize. I expect you to know brevity by tomorrow morning. Its a short list, but its common terms we use. There's only about sixty, so it shouldn't be a problem. You're not allowed to fight until you know that list word for word. Kapeesh? I left the rest of the journal blank for you to use as you see fit. Oh, I almost forgot... the crew knows that any time they see you, they can quiz you too. So expect random conversations. Not only do you get to meet the pilots, but you'll also learn at the accelerated pace we need you to."
He stood up, and zipped up his jacket. "You're free to roam the ship at your leisure. If you wish to study, do so. I'll be performing training in the aft cargo hold if you wish to join me. Most the squadron doesn't buy off on it, but low friction surfaces allow for you to learn balance and center of gravity. While it does help the lightsaber, I find that it also gets you used to the flight of a bird as well. But it's up to you. It's a lot to adjust to first day, I know."

“Been awhile then has it?” Melissa said. “A lot can happen in that amount of time. We should dig up what ever information on the stat of affairs on your home world before we made any solid plans.”
She shook her head slowly. “No, not slave. Maybe partner in crime but slavery is something that I have a problem with. You may be able to pull it off, but…I wouldn’t. Be able to deal with their bigotry for long.” She admitted. “I’d prefer not to talk to them at all if we can help it.” A hard look in her violet eyes.

Aurora took the book she was handed and looked over its leather coverings before she opened it. She thumbed through it as Ritt explained what he had done for her; examine each of the sections as he listed them off. Flipping back to the page she needed to study and memorize before tomorrow morning. She nodded her understanding that she had to know this information before she could fly her fighter. And when he added that, the rest of the crew was going to be quizzing her she looked back down the hanger to the blast doors. Wondering how many times she would be stopped and questioned by sadistic crewmember who got a kick out of torturing a new comer.
She was toying with the thought of just sitting in her fighter’s cockpit to study her book some before returning to her quarters. So when she was asked the inventible questions that she know were coming she would be able to at least answer a few, but when Ritt mentioned that he was going to do some training she dog-leafed the page she had been looking at and closed the book.
“Yes, please.” She began. “I’d like to get in some training time in before I study this,” she indicated to the book in her hand. “Thank you, this will come in handy.” She smiled up at him. “I should be the one apologizing to you for having to take on the duel responsibilities for having to train a new pilot as well as look after this master less padawan.” She said. “That is a lot to have to adjust to in a day.” She grinned at him.

"I'd suggest getting out of the pressure suit. It's rather binding, and honestly, I rather enjoy the freedom of motion that my normal clothes give. It allows you to feel your surroundings. I'll meet you outside your room in ten then. I have to grab several items, one of which is my lightsaber," he said, giving a bow.
Ritt turned and left Aurora's presence, and headed past the numerous rooms on his left and right, entering the fourth on the left, a singular room meant strictly for him. The unkempt bed and spartan decor signalled that this was his, as he shuffled to make it cleaner a bit.
His standard uniform was confining, at least for what he was going to do, as he changed out of it and into simple boots, pants, and shirt, as he placed the red bandana around his eyes instead of the sunglasses. The empty eye sockets were by no means pleasant to any organic, and training tended to get rough.
"She's too young to really do this, probably. War seems to be creeping on our doorstep younger and younger..." he muttered as he clipped his lightsaber to his belt. Half the time he didn't even notice its presence anymore, due to his dedication to the fighter. But something nagged him that he'd get to learn it a bit more recently. Grabbing the bag of remotes, he heaved it over the shoulder and made his way back to Aurora's room, waiting until she was prepped.

"[A while.]" Katarra admitted grudgingly. "[I was taken shortly before I came of age...barely out of being a cub...]" She growled. "[My family and friends were killed or sold as well....I am not even sure if any would remember me...]" And that was saying something, since the wookiee's white fur was likely memorable on her planet, where blending in with the trees was important for hunting.
"[If the slavers still run the planet, then they will not see me as an equal, free or not. They will see me as a beast of burdan.]" She growled darkly. "[They have no honor. And they will run everything...the star ports, the landing ports... If we wanted to sneak in, we would have to set down in the forest....or somewhere not occupied...]" Her eyes drifted off distantly suddenly at those words, as she frowned. "[But it would be a far distance to haul cargo afterwards....a lot of tree climbing.]"

"A curious being you are, youngling." Spoke an elderly male voice, tinged with sagacity. "You use a jetii'kad, yet your dress and manner is that of a prudii'verd. You say nothing, even when your eyes must be burning with pain and your kad is as silent as you are, which in itself is unusual enough."
The gun barrel tapped against Pash's head and then withdrew. Though he could not see, Pash was certain the gun was still pointed at him.
"You are not an evil man. No no. You lack a certain aura of menace, a certain disregard for life that ori'dush jage possess. Men like that rarely make it far in these woods. No no, you must be a good man at heart. Jate jag. But no matter how jate you are, you must be jareor to think you can sneak up on me in my own backyard."
Pash heard some rustling from where he had pinpointed the man's current location, still off to his side where the gun barrel was. Now if he could only figure out where the blaster was in relation to himself...
At that moment something gooey was slapped in Pash's eyes. In an instant Pash had grappled the arm and had his own pistol against the head of the arm's owner.
"Odd way of thanking someone for helping you."
"What did you put in my eyes?" Pash demanded of him.
"Oh, so you can speak. And here I was begining to think you were a mute."
Pash pressed the barrel harder against the man's head.
"What did you put in my eyes?"
"Settle down, youngling. Its only a biological compound that counteracts the damage done to your eyes by the gas grenade. It repairs the damaged nerves and cells while devouring the gas' harmful chemicals. If I really wanted to harm you I would have simply shot you. Now kindly put that gun away before I have to disarm you."
"Not yet. Ive got a few more questions."
"And I refuse to answer them like this." Pash felt a sudden jab in the armpit of his gun arm and the entire limb went numb. In an instant another jab struck the arm grabbing the man and that also went numb, leaving Pash armless and still unable to see. Pash projected a force push in the man's direction and turned to bolt. His foot caught a root however and he tumbled face first to the ground.
"You just seem to be having a splendid day, arent you youngling?" The old man said from somewhere with a chuckle.
"Yes. Just a gorram, skragyn day." Pash muttered, slowly getting to his feet.
"Well if you wouldn't be so bloody difficult I wouldnt have to be so rough with you." As Pash stood he felt something swiftly wipe his eyes, clearing the gunk out of them.
Now able to see without pain, he focused on the masked Mandalorian before him. He was tall and though he wore loose white robes he seemed somewhat skinny. Over the robe was a light chestplate and a pair of shoulder guards in Mandalorian style. The man had a belt and a satchel with a shoulder strap. Hanging off his belt was a blaster holster and some strange sort of sharp, curved farming implement made of electrum.
Despite the armor, the blaster, and the mandalorian mask, the old man did not seem in the least a warrior, yet he was able ambush and subdue Pash with seeming ease.
"Now, are you quite finished being difficult?" The old man asked. "I'd rather not hurt you any further, as there seems to be a great deal we can learn from one another."

"I am the Lady Sonya Kai'zer, of the fourth caste on the planet Umbara, second wealthiest woman in that sector. I have come to seek training under your guidance, Master Tos. I've outlasted three weaker sith knights, who have failed to teach me anything more than mere technique. Though I am an apprentice. I crave power, and I'm more than a match for any apprentice by way of the blade. But I need someone who's strength allows them to be recognized to advance me further. And that is why Lord Nakara sent me to you." Sonya announced proudly and without hesitation.
"There are few to whom I bow to, Karah. I cannot stand the thought of begging. But please," she asked, getting on her knees and almost kissing the ground in a bow. "Take me under your wing, teach me to be your right hand woman. Teach me the ways of true power."

"Forgive me. I am not known as much of a comidian." Shisstal said as he followed Nakara. He kept his grip on his knife. Nakara was up to something. He would have to stay aware every moment of his time with Nakara. The assasins only proved this fact. Had Nakara not come a moment earlier, Shisstal would have been another failed apprentice.

"Tell me, what use is power if you wind up dead anyway? What benefit can you have from the force is you become weak and frail from it? What good comes from only knowing one side of the force, and the inability to adapt to what's coming?" Nakara asked, guiding the young man down the hall.
"I know power is what you seek. all young sith know think the same way, 'if only i had more power, i could get what I want'. How long do you think it will take before you realize that power is nothing but brute force? That the wisest and oldest upon our council are just that, old and wise? Few successful sith jump in, few manage to understand the strength of a strong mind, the art of deception that does not rely upon your own physical capacities. There are but three forces of the dark side, those of terror, desctruction, and corruption. Corruption is far more deadly than any destruction. It takes time, like a plant, to grow, but when it reaches its blossom, everything becomes capable for manipulation."
Turning into a small room, Nakara used the force to flip the map of the galaxy on.
"The entire galaxy could easily be destroyed, but what's the point? To be truely great and terrifying, one must be able to not only destroy, but create. You must know how to maintain everything... A sith does not seek needless destruction, he does not kill indiscriminately. The ones he kills must be selected. A true sith knows how to manipulate the masses, killing only those off whom pose a threat to their regime. That's the way of true power. Not strength of arms, not physical dexderity nor the power of the force. No, the best sith are the ringmasters of the circus, wowing the audience with jumping ak dogs and rancor tamers, things which others would find impossible tasks normally, he carefully stages, while subtlely manipulating the concientious eye. You want to learn to build your strength in the force or with a lightsaber up? Find someone else. I teach only those who can rely on their own wits to survive, ones who pay attention to their surroundings...."

Nemesis had gone quite a distance away from the temple, considering she was only out for a simple stroll. She came to a small area with fewer people around, hoping to find a place to stay as out of sight as possible. Of course, such places were also favored by thugs. Passing by an alley, she caught sight of one, in the process of harming a young girl.
" Go away. This ain't none of your business. " the thug said, noticing Nemesis. The girl seemed to be screaming for help, but the man's hand was over her mouth, muffling any sound she made. Nemesis started to walk off, much to the thug's surprise, but he soon took advantage of being left to his deeds and started to continue whatever he was doing.
After only a few steps, Nemesis stopped, her thoughts turning to back to the past, remembering a similar incident when she was training to be a Sith. She was reminded of how letting such people have their way would never make things any easier, and decided she couldn't just let this go.
Suddenly the girl managed a loud scream during her stuggle with her attacker, and hearing it made Nemesis shed any remaining thoughts of not intervening. With the help of the Force, she appeared before them in an instant, holding the man up by the throat with one hand, looking him in the eyes with an expressionless face.
" b***h. I told you to beat it. " was all he said before the grip tightened, as if to strangle him. The near-human's expression changing to that of hatred and disgust. " The galaxy doesn't need pathetic vermin such as you. " she said, her voice only adding to the fear the man now had. He seemed to try to start begging for mercy, but his words couldn't come out right, being choked to death.
" No... You don't deserve to simply fall asleep and die in peace. " she said, releasing her grip enough so he wouldn't choke, but still held him helplessly in the air. Then, sparks began to form, and lightning shot from her hand into the man's body. She held him in place as such, intent on shocking him dead.
The girl watched in fear, her savior appearing no different than her attacker. Nemesis saw her in the corner of her eye, then turned to look and saw the girl backing up, no more relieved than she was when she was being attacked. This was not what Nemesis wanted to see. Irritated at the whole incident, she stopped her assault on the man and threw him into the wall with enough Force assistance to make him take a nasty blow to the head. He either died from it, or was only knocked out. She no longer cared.
Walking towards the girl, she held a hand out, though the girl backed up against the wall, still afraid. Sighing, Nemesis then waved her hand in front of her. " You will forget who I am. You were saved by a random stranger. " The girl's panic made it easier to erase Nemesis's existence from her mind. Nemesis then went away, continuing her walk around town, leaving the girl to only remember being saved by someone she couldn't see or hear well enough to get any idea who they were.
" Everywhere I go something has to ruin my day... " Nemesis said to herself, stopping in front of a cantina. " Hmm... No. I'd only end up starting a big bar fight. " she thought, turning around and heading elsewhere. " And sooner or later someone from the temple is gonna wonder what the Hell I just did to some idiot and request I just stay at home and take it easy when that's exactly what I came out here to do... "

Shisstal stayed quiet for a while after Nakara had spoken. He had only seen the power of the force in one way. Now Nakara was showing him every way to see it and how it must be seen. He didn't quite understand at first, but after he thought of the words in his mind over and over again, he had some understanding. "Brute force is nothing without the knowledge on how to use it. Right?" Shisstal asked.

"If you wish to see it that way. The knowledge to use brute force means little when you can win wars without drawing your blade. What good is a destroyed planet compared to the ability to destroy its people, but keep the infrastructure in tact? The cybernetic world allows for us to manipulate computers and information in ways which would never be dreamed of in a million years on a battlefield of lightsabers. With this war, the jedi rely upon data and information stored in droids and computers. One simple virus could spell totall defeat on the field of battle, preserving your brute force instead for something else later down the road when it is needed, say, saving your hide," Nakara retorted. "The best leaders, and most terrifying fighters, are ones who need no weapon but themselves."

"And what if the Sith win this war? No matter who is in charge, they can't govern this galaxy by brute force. They must have the people's trust. Destroy a planet, you lose thousands of possible followers and gain millions of enemies. This is how rebellion starts. But, if you gain the peoples trust, they will follow you. If the Sith were to convince the galaxy completely that the Jedi and Republic were wrong, we would win. Without having to draw weapons. And not only would weapons not be needed, but less casualties would be caused. Is this something of what you speak of?" Shisstal said to him calmly.
