I'm working on a fan-game-concept right now, because I'm sick of crappy Sonic games and I want to see if I can come up with a better one.

Writing fan fiction is easy. Writing GOOD fanfiction is hard. XD
I personally am guilty of making probably every bad fanfiction writer mistake ever. Ignorance is my only defense. When I wrote my first (Mary Sue) story, I had no idea that I wasn't the first person to ever think of writing fanfiction. Ah, ignorance, thy name is Meriko.
Whatcha writing? :D

I always want to write them back and be like "You are not all there in the head, are you?" But can't be mean.

Oh God I know. gonk Fanfiction and fanart from years ago make me writhe in embarrassment. When I get praise for them I'm torn between thankfulness that the person doesn't know any better and avoids exposing my suckiness and horror that they really think that my stuff is anything better than putrid tripe. *cringefest*

Well, there's SOME of my old stuff that I don't mind owning up to. My RuroKen vignette and the first Freya & Fratley fic aren't too bad. Probably because there's no overt romance. I think the stopcock on my romance spigot is broken, so once I get started I just flood the decency right out of a story.
I like some of the stuff on my Elfwood gallery, but most of my fanart I can shrug right off because there's so much prettier fanart out there~ @-@

Fortunately, most of my awful fanfics turned into awesome original stories. In strange, strange ways. I once had a South Park Mary Sue (I was... 13...) that eventually evolved into the protagonist of a magical girl story. It began when I wrote a parody fanfic, then I wrote a sequel, then I ended dropping the "fan" part all together...
Sigh, I miss that story...
I think the first Fanfic and Fancharacter I ever created was when I was in Preschool. I think It was a Mario Brothers princess character who was related to Peach/Toadstool in some way. I still have pieces of children's writing paper (you know, the big spaced ones with dotted line half-spaces...) with drabble about Mario and Peach getting married and the fan character being a bridesmaid...

I've never been much of an artist but sometimes I find old doodles I did and my first reaction is "Burn it with FIRE!" gonk
I'll always enjoy all your artwork Meri. And I'll always remember how utterly freaked out I was the first time I had to contact you regarding stolen pixel. Had to try to figure out what to say without coming off sounding like a raving lunatic. rofl

Whatcha writing? biggrin Mawee~ <3 Haha, yeah, my first fan fiction was Mary Sue as well. Chrono Trigger. Three chapters long. Then I realized the error of my ways and removed myself from it, and now it's twenty chapters longer. And then I hit a load of writer's block jsut before I could get to the end... anyway, I'm rewriting the whole thing (starting from chapter four) to try and pull myself out of writer's block so I can actually get to the end this time. It's a MagusxLucca fic. And when I'm finihed I've got half a plot for a Star Wars fic in my head, with all OCs. But I can't figure out what I want the rest of the plot to be.
