Caden kept his eyes about the area, he could feel and see the gaze of many others looking onto him and the elves, the last thing he wanted was a damn pirate to come up and try something, then said person who get something they would never forget that's for sure. "You're right about that...if it was the last post in all of the world then I would think of coming to get something from here..." A shake of his head as his eyes scanned the area, it didn't seem that anything would catch his eye, that was a little sad cause he was itching to get something.

But a look to Shyrae and he smiled lightly. "No not really...I'm more or less window shopping...never know what one might find and if it's at a good price then why not get it?" A small smile to that as he continued to look, though it seemed that in a place like this all the good stuff was taken which was sad really, then again pirates did come here. Though he gave a small nod to Savvy's comment and grinned. "I know what you mean and you got a point, maybe they have something here they over looked...just gotta find it first right?"

an annoyed look as he got decked and shot in the rear. aggravating...but rubbing his jaw lightly. he'd let that necromancer earn her keep and treat the pistol wound later.

"there's one on my ship."

letting that take a moment to sink in.

"That group is looking for pieces to the relic that allowed that city to prosper so wonderfully. apparently someone is using fragments for thier own purposes. with those, and a mock up of what you want...you an command the sands. want to make sure of say...the Dagger being caught in a sand storm? you can make it happen. think what you could do with one shard and say..a model of this little atoll we're standing on."

keeping a pace with her, drinking some more.

"Or...think what might happen if the person giving the city a hard time with earthquakes, whirlpools, and sandstorms can do if they turn their attention to us. doesn't take much to make a mock of any of our ships, with the right leverage to get information."

that was made a little emphasis on.

"these shards are like glass, with rainbow coloring. You wouldn't happen to have come across any, would you?"

"Yes but generally the most unlikely of places aren't overrun with pirates who take for themselves and leave nothing behind." She did scan over the shops though, taking a look at anyone who shoved their wares into her face. A dirty boy of no more than eleven beckoned her over to the side and she tilted his head. He was a pirate as well, they were even corrupting their youth!

She remained in conversation with the boy for a few moments and then glanced over what he had to show. Choosing from his stash, she pointed to it all and handed over the money then watched him joyfully scamper off. A shake of her head and she returned to Savryn. "You were right." Holding up a necklace of rather crudely constructed beads, most likely made out of bones of various things as well as a few coins and a pair of dice. "He wanted a necklace for his mother," she said by way of explanation. "And he's going to search the marketplace for anything that might be of interest as well as listen for information. As a child, I'm hoping he won't think to double cross us. Now we must go get that necklace."

This time, Savvy looked directly at Caden. "What is it you human's say? One man's trash is another man's treasure?" Waving a hand dismissively before turning a look to Shyrae, lifting a hand to touch at the beads. Hm bone. Bone anything was good in her opinion. A smile though. "Good show Shyrae...get our information for a mere trinket. Well, let's get the boy his pretty necklace then and continue on here." Reaching a hand back to pet at Chy a moment, the falcon snapping at the ball of light as it came close as well as Savryn covering her gold eye...moon elf heritage and light didn't mix well.

Bell was more than happy to let him lead her as he pleased, seeing as she was clumsy and well, clumsy in this place would not be good. But being as close as she was she also had to make sure she didn't get tangled up in his feet or tail either and cause embarrassing falling accidents. All the dragon items...must be from those that had decided to live in the nomadic like communities in the desert, loners, or rouges. It was still scary. But a look over to the glowing ball of light. "Yes you still do. And I would say no more than ten."

So like Hunter...his arm could be getting gnawed off by sand weasels and he would keep drinking his rum. It was downright irritating. "Don't give me that look, you know better. As I said, I'm not once of your little flings and I will not be treated as such. Come Hunter, we're better together than that. Though you're as fickle as the sand." So was she, but she wasn't going to point out her personal flaws.

A raise of an eyebrow though. "How dreadful for you." So one was in attendence to the general population? That was probably bad...they were righteous creatures, or so she'd read. Not a thing you want to put among good old pirate scum. A snicker. "Relics? Don't be a fool Hunter...and I don't desire that kind of power. If I want to sink the Dagger, well that's by no means hard." Though yes a thoughtful look at the other aspect of it.

Then of course one of those coy looks of hers that always said she knew something but didn't quite think she was going to tell you unless you could really get her to by some means. She specialized in her looting after all. "Perhaps..."

"It isn't the Dagger I'm more concerned with. it's the Serpent. Or some righteous guard or atoll member that decides to make the sands his by means of eliminating all competition."

Though a slight roll of his eyes at her coy look.

"I have the leverage here. that little shapeshifter hunts those things like worms hunt rotting flesh. I hint that you know where some are, she'll be crawling all over your ship like a plague."

though a grin.

"although, I'm not beyond showing a little compensation. this deal I've made with that team is I get all loot and first picks at everything not directly related to thier needs. and you know how that can go. you help me, fly under my colors, and we'll sneak a few of these shards away for our own purposes. and I'll let you browse ten percent of whatever plunder we find."
PostPosted: Thu May 31, 2007 10:40 am

"It would probably at least ask to come on board, unlike you." Though she sharply stopped and turned on hims, hands hitting her hips and her boot toes to his, right in his face. "You dare insult me as such to want me to fly under any colors but my own? How many times must I tell you that I am not below you or part of your gangly crew. You do dare to push buttons better left unpushed Hunter Hawk Deacon. Hell and the sands have no fury like a woman scorned and you are scorning me at this moment. Though I am not an unreasonable woman...I like the thought of free loot with little work, would you care to revise your offer?"

Despite occasionally tighter grips on his arm, she was doing fine. He was really not enjoying himself too much either but what could you say about a dragon that had spent his entire life learning about the moral of society and the need for order. Still, optimism was probably a need in this case, he didn't want to cause more upset than was already present. "See anything you like?" Though he lifted a hand to beckon Xeke back towards him, seeing how Savryn's falcon really didn't seem to appreciate the attention.

Yes, it and animals rarely seemed to get along. They either cowered in fear from it or retaliated with violence. "Sorry." Pulsating once in what seemed to be a sigh, it spoke in a smooth voice and then turned back to hover by Kaz and Jae. "I would not put down a single coin for any of this. Who knows who it might have belonged to... You wouldn't want any one of these ruffians hunting you down weeks later to retrieve the jeweled dagger that had been stolen from him."

"I see a lot of things I don't like." Though a lot that she did too...and only someone who knew her well would note the slight glitter in her golden amber eyes at all the possible things she could piece together and find use for whatever she made. "I don't think that the common currency is even coin here Xeke...seems to be a lot of goods trading and payment." Turning a look up to Kaznec, how could he seem so unrattled...then again he was indeed probably used to these types of things in some aspect.

"So do I." He wouldn't lie about his insecurities but knowing how to keep emotions under wraps was a strength of his. A strength which often turned out to be more like a habit. "There are some nice things you could probably tinker with though, if you want to risk personal contact." Returning her look though not quite understanding it. "She's right, you know Xeke. Some might even want to barter with me about you."

"Or even physical services..." A slight shudder to its tone before pulsating even more violently for a moment at Kaz's suggestion. "You wouldn't!" Yes, even Seons could manage humor. Particularly this one, and thus he moved over to twirl about by one of Jae's horns.

"I think I'd rather not risk it...I'm brave, not stupid. I'm already getting looks that I'm not liking, I'd rather not let anyone get up close to examine me anymore than they can." She was a dragon, with scales of unusual color-or rather lack thereof-and was a woman to boot. Oh the horrible visions that could come to mind...and the Seon just made it worse. "Gee thanks Xeke..." Letting her tail's end wrap around Kaznec's ankle, but not tight enough to restrict walking. Though yes a little amusement as Xeke took to her horns as refuge. "Oh don't worry I wouldn't let him. You make a much better night light for us."

He too followed her gaze but was rather pleased when at least some of the pirates caught his eye then looked away. It might have been his serious expression or his Ilindal Guard uniform that he was still wearing. As long as they were enough to deter, he didn't care which it was. "Looks can be deceiving sometimes." A brief look down at his ankle but he kept on walking, glancing up at Xeke for a moment. "I wouldn't be able to, even if I wanted to." After all, Seons chose their masters. Not the other way around.

"Kaz would protect you, it's what he does." And stating the obvious. But yes, rather proud of the fact that it could emit light though Kaznec had a point. He was in control here... That was a comforting thought. Rising a few feet into the air however, it beamed happily. "Beach in view. Open space, Jae." Like a fish in water.

At least anyone smart enough knew better than to try anything. To try at one dragon was enough, but two was getting stupid on the assailiants part. If they didn't want to deal with them because of Kaz, then she'd let him be in his stoic duty styled manner. She could attempt smiles from him and such later. "True as that may be...sometimes they are what they look like." Letting her eyes turn up to Xeke again, giving the ball of light a smile. "Yes, I know he would Xeke. Safe as long as Kaz is around." Momentary tightening the hold on his arm before letting up once more and then another slight smile at the annoucement. "Already?" Would be nice to see the cool aqua oasis water though.

Stoic indeed. He simply marched onwards, pretending that they weren't speaking like he wasn't there. Truthfully, he didn't mind it. He didn't have anything to say anyways, most of his thoughts rolled in the mind, not off the tongue. As the Seon flew up ahead a bit, he followed it and soon led them out of the ragtag town and into open space indeed. "This is nice..." Wasn't everyday you got to see as clear blue water as this. No wonder this was such a busy port.

"People will say anything to get you to trust them..." Its light flared a little at her smile though and he bounced in place. "It must be an oddly shaped atoll." But it flew up ahead a bit, leading them out to the open air that wasn't clouded with alcohol and smoke.

"Mmmm, much better indeed." Breathing in the rather fresh air that hung around in the open area of the pool of water. Which itself was buzzing with at least more tame looking company. Then again she guessed if everyone had to get water from the same place, a little bit of order was good. "Always a little spot of good among all the bad, you just have to look for it." She was her sunny self again now wasn't she? "And don't be such a pessimist Xeke...or I'll poke you." It never liked that.

"Ah but Shyrae sometimes pirates can be a picky bunch and leave certain things that don't please them, and sometimes they leave good things behind." That was true, once he saw a pirate go through some things at the marketplace and when he was done he just left a few discarded items behind, one of them was a book that belonged in a rare set, even one of them was just priceless; lucky for Caden he got it at a cheep price since the owner didn't know about it.

He then turned to Savvy and gave a nod. "And sometimes it actually works out to be like that." He said even though she waved a hand at him. Though he paused as he watched Shyrae talk to a little boy, seemed he was just around ten eleven years old and it bothered Raynes to see a small child was in a place like this. Though when she returned all he did was raise his eyebrow in wonder but when explained what happened he had to smile. "That's a pretty good idea." He muttered with a light nod though he again raised an eyebrow as a little ball of light came by but quickly dismissed it without a problem. "Did the boy say anything of what kind of necklace his mother wanted?"
