just wanted to say we are all ok here. ben is almost walking, i am very excited. he is pushing this walker type toy around the place nonstop. when i try walking with him, i don't have to make him move his feet, he moves his feet forward independently while i hold him upright. i am so happy, i hope he will be walking by himself by the end of this year. biggrin xd

Yuna~~congrats!

I am so exausted! Alec is teething soooo bad. He was up screaming for 2 hour intervals. I called his doc and she says give him motrin.... yeah i did that. Basically she said i have to deal with it gonk We also are being sent over to urology. Alec has a recessed p***s and a lump or cyst of some sort over his one testicle TMI i know iknow. Has anyone else ever heard of this?!? I'm worried he's had ALOT of problems peeing and such. Plus he keeps getting infections no matter how clean and creamed i keep it! It's so frustrating.
Eric is doing well. But i've noticed the older he gets... the worse the behaviors are getting. He goes from 0-full blown tantrum in 5 secs flat @_@ I love him but im out of ides and sick of getting beat up by my not even 5 yr old. Speaking of which we're doing his bday at chuck e cheese this year. We went there yesterday sorta test run before i dole out all that money and he had alot of fun except he kept hiding from the other kids lol.

So how is everyone doing? Not just the kids the parents too!

thanks Panda and Monkey. mrgreen

monkey: i hope the bday goes well for you. you'll have to let me know that goes. that's funny and cute that he hides from other kids. he sounds really shy. i have not heard of a recessing p***s, and i am sorry. i hope you find some info on that soon and that all will be well.

as for my husband and i, we are good. right now i'm trying to figure out where we are goign to live at for the summer. my husband has a job working for the district attorney general's office, and that's located in another city, about 2 hours from us. so im really worried about finding a place for us to live for the summer. then when the summer ends, he'll be back in school, and i'll be due for the second kid around that time, aug 21.

i'm really scared. i've been through the whole birthign thing, by c-section, but i'm scared all over agian. i would have thought that since i've been through this, it would not have been worrying. gonk

how are you doing?

I hope everyone and their kids are doing well. A couple of days ago we recently had a big meeting with my son's case workers about Ben going to school. I can't believe he'll be going to school this fall. We chose to place him in a classroom that's more focused for him. He still needs to learn how to eat by himself, and walk. When he will pick up on these things, they will put him into a different classroom that isn't focused on those things....

it's kinda weird, school at the age of 3....but it prepares him to go into kindergarden....i'm a little sad....

I held off till eric was 4 because he just didnt seem ready. It's sad when they go off but its kinda nice too. The last 2 weeks i was pregnant were hell. Just going to the bathroom needed a 3 hour nap afterwards xD It was nice because those last 2 weeks was when eric started a summer readiness program and was gone 4 hours a day.... i napped XDDDD Eric is doing really good. He's going to a bday party sat and he has his bday at chuck e cheese on the 12th so he's all excited. Alec has ANOTHER sinus infection. The 3rd in 2 months. Everytime he finishes an antibiotic BOOM another one Dx so they put him on a stronger one which he had a bad reaction to so now he's on a different one. We saw ENT and one tube is blocked so he has to have additional ear drops to try and clear it. We go back in about 3 months and if he's still mouth breathing and having sinus issues (which he's had since birth) then his adnoids come out gonk Poor kid...and he was suppose to be the healthy one! I was suprised to know that its almost impossible to kids to have sinus infections before 1-2yrs ...according to his doc. Thats why theyrer taking it so seriously. From being sick all the time his balance is really off so he's falling behind with sitting crawling standing ect he just sorta falls over lol. ANYWHO Let us know how everyone is doing and wether its a boy or girl!

i understand about holding off until you feel like your kid is ready, i'm sure ben will be ready, he might not be walking, but i know there they will help him with walking, talking or sign language, and learning how to eat by himself until he can be placed into a different classroom......

so how was your easter? mine was busy....how are you? alec? and eric? are they feeling better?

we found out that i was having a girl. lol, i'm kind of excited actually......at least it looked like it was a girl on the ultrasound, no boy parts were to be seen. ninja

I hope that everyone is doing well. We are doing good here. Ben is still not walking yet, but I know he's close. As for self feeding, we are getting there. Some days are of course better then others. Sometimes, he likes me to feed him and refuses to hold the spoon and scoop his food. xd I am still getting his white blood cells checked everything month because the levels are not normal, but they lately they've been getting better. He recently had a thyroid test done, and everything came back fine on that.

I won't be on much during the summer. My husband and I are leaving this afternoon to visit families in Montana for a week. Then we will be moving to Des Moines, IA for the summer because my husband has a job working for the iowa attny general. I have no idea if we will get internet access over the summer or not. I will be back here when we return in Aug so I can have my baby here at home. Ben also starts school at the end of Aug, so life will be intresting.

I wish you all the best of luck and you all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for all the support out there. I appreciate it. I will come on and let everyone know when I'm back, so please don't kick me out of the guild. I will return in August, sooner if I have internet access over teh summer. heart

I too have a couple special needs kids.

Galen, my oldest (he's 10), was diagnosed with ADHD about 6 years ago. As seems to often be the case, over the years more problems have shown up. He is currently diagnosed (in addition to the ADHD) with OCD, ODD, Mood Disorder NOS, and Sensory Intergation issues. He's had numerous issues in school, and, if it weren't for an absolutely fabulous EBD teacher, would have been kicked out in 1st grade. As frustrating as his behavior's are, we at least understand what is going on with him.

Lexi (she's 5) we're still not certain what the problem is. It started off as a bunch of little things that were just weird or not quite right. After awhile when we started to add them all up we came to the conclusion that we just couldn't ignore it anymore. What was/is causing us concern? Well, there is a whole list of things (though some of them we don't see anymore) that range in intensity of concern:
*Her hair has never grown right. Even at five years old, and after at least two hair cuts, it is still baby fine and extremely thin. In three years time it grew a total of maybe two inches.
*The dentist has informed us that she is completely missing one of her teeth. I guess this is a genetic thing and is not completely unheard of, but fairly uncommon.
*Loud noises completely frighten her. She covers her ears and tries to get away from them or screams until they are gone. This is improving slightly...we've finally gotten her to the point where she will flush the toliet.
*When she gets really upset she has, in the past, either soiled herself or thrown up. When she was around a year old she would take her diaper off and smear her poop all over...and then get very upset when she realized there was poop on her hands.
*She used to see things. The two most common things were bugs and "the guy". We still aren't sure who the guy was but she'd see him in her bedroom window or across the street when there was no one there.
*For awhile there she would have whole days at a time where she would not open her mouth.
*Her speech is definately way behind where it should be. Her 3 year-old sister talks better then she does and has for at least two years now.
*She started having migraines shortly before she turned two years old. They have subsided somewhat in recent months but when she gets them they are bad.
I think that is about all. We've had testing done on her and so far nothing conclusive has shown up. She had a MRI for the migraines (nothing unusual found), blood work for rare genetic diseases (nothing), and numerous mental health assesments (initially they said PDD, then they thought autism, now they are thinking nothing except maybe some ODD). She has been in speech therapy for two years now and was attending a special education classroom this past year. And now we are kind of at a stand still...though we have been told that was should meet with a geneticist to see if there is any other testing we should be doing. It is frustrating.

My other two children are fine (except some physical health concerns with my oldest daughter). I can honestly say that it is exhausting raising four kids, especially with two special needs children.

Welcome. Don't give up. Kepp pushing and getting second opinions. Because eventually there will be one doctor who will go "hmm" and figure it out. Good luck and hope the kids are well.

UPDATES!
Eric is doing well. We found hima spot in an autistic summer program YAY! We also got him a permament place for kindergarten. That was rough. He's too smart for the "restricted classes", but has to many behaviors and needs for regular class. There was literally nothing around us for kids like him. So he's going to have to bused 45 minutes each was to an awesome school made for high functioning kids like him. It's the program we REALLY wanted so im happy as can be. ALEC: Still not doing so great. He had his tubes replced because they kept clogging from all the fluid behind his ears and they took out his adnoids at the same time because of all the sinus infections and trouble breathing. While i'm glad to say that his breathing has much improved not much else has. The surgery was about a months ago and he STILL has the fluid behind his ears, loss of hearing in his left and possibly right ear, NO balance and Wednesday i had him in the ER turns out he has a sinus inection, double ear infections (with a ton of fluid behind his ear drum) and a nasty upper resp infection which caused his asthma to go nuts. I've had no sleep since he was born Dx The pauses of breathing in his sleep have gotten better so i'm happy. But some days his strider is horrible and he sounds like he's suffocating. I hope they can figure this all out because i'm exausted. I might have to have him evealuated by EI because his doctor said some of his truck and leg muscles are unusually weak and he has a hard time controlling his one arm which is always tucked in with a closed fist. I feel so bad for him because sometimes when he's crawling and cruising that arm and leg don't move causing him to fall on his face. His brother had this and it ended up to be CP which runs in our family. gonk Luckily the rest of his development seems ok except for slurred speach (probably from the hearing) so we crossing our fingers. He is exibiting odd things though. He does the hand flapping BAD and the rocking. He hates anything remotely loud. Won't show affection , is very aggressive, doesn't wanna sleep, and noone other than when he comes to me can touch him or get close to him or he goes into melt down. Even my mom who he's seen since birth. It's reminding me all too much of Eric and i'm sad and scared for him. Wow that's long. sweatdrop

Quote:

Yes thankyou, they are both doing good as are my other children.
Sergey had his first kiss the other day with his girlfriend. He was very proud of it and phoned to tell me straight away. i have not seen him so happy in many years. I was very proud.

Vlad is also doing well, He now always knows who he is talking to which is good as he has lots of brothers and sisters to remember. He knows his name in braille ( i thnk that is right i had to translate that). and we are learning him to swim now which is good fun.
