:: It would not.

All the creature managed to do was turn its head and look at Ruuvan before it was run impaled with the hefty blades. The amount of blood rushing from the open wound would tell Ruuvan had struck home.

The beast's eyes never departed from the elf. As it spurted blood into a sickly wet puddle, and then fell splat into its own crimson fluid.

All 16 eyes gazed at Ruuvan as if it wanted to talk...it wanted to say "something", and then one by one they closed as death came to the beast.

It was in that last moment Ruuvan would hear the word "MURDERER", screamed from directly behind him, as that girl tried to run him through with her giant syringe.::

One down, one to go, not that he was going to kill the Nurse, but the numbers were true.

With the swords still planted in the beast's side, Ruuvan brought his legs up and bent them slightly. With the girl getting closer behind him, he waited until she was about to stab that thing into his back before volting backwards, up and over the nurse leaving the needle with nothing to stab into but the carcass of the beast. Once he landed gracefully a few feet behind he, he would quickly run up and grab both arms to stop her drawing the needle out and attacking him again.
"Where's the Doctor?" He would say calmly, making sure to stop her struggles by tightening his grip.

::For Vahn, the figure remained silent. It gestured that Vahn step in, and then gestured toward a cut log, for him to sit down. From under the thick hood, there wasnt much visible, just a single golden chain, and he spoke in a very consoling voice.::

A man cannot know where he doth travel lest he know where from he hath come. This is true. But at times ones past carries a wieght that will only slow a man to a crawl, and halt his journey toward where he must be...

::That accent...it was different, and yet maybe familiar. It was an old mans voice, and his accent was almost british, only slightly off, slightly different. Perhaps it was just how carefully he pronounced every word.::

Master Vahn...there is nothing here for you. For anyone.

"Sorry-- old man, I don't have the time for bedside stories." He remained standing where he was, goggles shielding most of his face, and raven locks peeking out from a snow covered head.

"I'm here for a very special reason... and I don't think you should be hanging around here yourself. The locals don't exactly welcome people with a red carpet."

He was watching from the corners of his eyes, looking for any indication of a sneaking Kyonuske to pop out from cover.

::Once the needle dug in, she fiented the act of trying to force it free. As Ruuvan neared and tried to reach for her, she leaned forward, tucking her legs up to her chest and donkey kicked straight back at Ruuvan's chest. She'd use the same motion of her kicking back to turn around and toss the giant needle at the hopefully falling Ruuvan, trying to impale him yet again. And screaming::

SHUT UP!!!

::As loud as she could.::

Well the kick definitely caught him off guard, such a hefty blow forcing him back a good distance, but he was able to brace himself enough as not to lose balance and maintain his footing.

As the syringe was flung towards him, the above mentioned bracing meant he was able to stabilise himself before it impaled him. Ducking to the right, the syringe flew past his body and would clatter to the ground some distance behind him.
"Where is the doctor?" Determination in his voice; he wanted answers and he wanted them now.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 11:10 pm

::No.

She wouldnt give in that easily! She tossed the giant syringe running just behind it, as Ruuvan dodged to the right, she veered from her path directly toward him, hoping to catch him in most ungaurded state. She reached into her pocket pulling 6 needles, held between the fingers on both hands. Each filled with the same green goop, and she aimed to stab them right into Ruuvan's heart.

Despite her humanoid appearance, she was far from just a girl. Her skin was made of watchwork colors and complexions, this was clearly made obvious by the digusting stitch scars that held her together. Her skirt was tained with yellow, green, and red stains from ages past that still hadnt washed out. People she had "helped", that she had "fixed", she was far from clean. Just as far as she was from pure. Or innocent. The word human barely fit.

Ruuvan wanted answers, she wanted his head mounted on her mantle.::

Syringe dodged, now six more in the nurse's hand coming directly towards him. True enough Ruuvan was unguarded, but he was also at an angle 'ducked to the side' state. So as he saw her running at him, he simply let go of all stability and fell to the ground and moving his heart out of the way of those nasty things of stabby aimed at his heart. Before hitting the ground he put out a hand to catch himself, swinging his legs around to sweep the nurse off her feet, in a fight sense, and once again put her at the disadvantage. Following through after the sweep, Ruu pushed himself back to his feet.

::The leg connected and sweeped firmyl and briskly kicking up a tuft of snow as the kick finished. Down she went, falling back and hitting the soft snowy ground with an "ooof". And almost immediately her long, scarred and stitched legs went to work beneath her, trying to pick her up off the ground before Ruuvan could further his attack.::

----

::The old man stood entirely quiet. His hands neatly folded, one in the other, and gently sitting on tree stump. He was too kind to tell Vahn directly what he was too see. And yet too respectful of the mans wishes to stop him should he choose to enter anyway.

He sat silently, watching the fire. Being very careful to make sure the terrible cold did not snuff it out.::

Seeing the whole thing go as planned was like watching Swan Lake, if one had ever taken the time to do it and knew what it was, basically it had went to plan and Ruuvan was able to get to his feet a second after the nurse had hit the ground.
"Where is the Doctor?" A third time, no change in his tone or urgency, almost as if he was confident that he'd get the answers in the end, which he was. Ruu had already adopted a slightly crouched position out of flailing distance and prepared for the worst, like another big beast or something to jump him, and waited for the nurse to reply again.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 27, 2006 1:54 pm

"...."

He stared at the old man for a while before finally moving forward again. He couldn't help but feel the hairs on the back of his neck rise, but he shrugged it off anyway. There had to be a reason why a sect of assasins allowed some old man to camp out in front of their otherwise secret base.

Right?

::Ruuvan was being overconfident. This was not a conversation, this was a fight, one person was trying to kill another, not chat. If the worst he could do was repeat himself like a montone parrot, then what exactly was supposed to motivate the girl to change her mind? The air? The snow? Nothing, thats what.

So, when Ruuvan stood up, and the nurse, spun to her side to try and kick his feet out from under him. She didnt even bother acknowledging his shout. Really all he was doing was annoying her, and making her fight harder.

No one said being a hero was a pretty job, or even a kind one.::

---

::As unexpected as it was the place was cold, and quiet. It had been months since anyone walked the halls, and the snow had stacked up pretty side. It really wouldnt take long for one to realize that this place as a ghost town. It was too quiet, and too dead to be a trap or a test. This was beyond ninja skill, there was just no evidence of life what so ever.

All signs of conflict and or death were lost in the pure white snow.

Unfortunately snow cannot fall inside a building, and the first steps inside would reveal the blood caked and dried to the walls and floor. Their were most definately signs of conflict. Chairs and tables overturned, bloody scratch marks and sword scars scraping bloody trails across the walls and floors. It seemed like a heard of psychotic animals had torn through this place. And yet there were distinct slashes in the wall from someones precise, beautiful, and yet powerful sword manuevers.

The cold had frozen most of the bodies in place, keeping the stink down to a minimum, but the sight was gruesome to say the least. Once familiar faces now seemed so peacefully and cold...there failing bodies haven given in to the ice grip of death, and of the tundra. What remained of these once great halls, was a memory, and a graveyard. Their werent nearly as many bodies as their should have been, but in the mess of blood and battle scars, it was probably almost impossible to tell who or what was missing.

It was a travesty for the eyes, and a tragedy for the soul.::

The Last Episode
Valek's right hand moved to his right side and he made the motion of drawing a sword. Red eyes burned as his mouth opened into a toothy grin. "Sticks and stones can't break my bones... not with this, the Shieldbreaker."

Lazenca sighed. He wasn't ready to forfeit this life just yet.

Lazenca stood sideways, almost perfectly perpendicular to Valek. His left side facing the man, and his fists were closed. Claws pressed into the meaty part of his palm as he tried to tell himself that it was okay to defend himself now.

I should be fighting you. My blood is screaming to me, my skin is tingling at the surface. I feel the weight of both our lives in the air, thick and coppery as it is thin and devoid of all warmth. And yet here I remain, listening to you speak to me as if we were friendly rivals. But I know your empty words, I've read them before. You spout confidence and exhude dominance as if it were so inherant in you. Why are you so damned cocky?

His lids dropped over his eyes and Lazenca breathed deeply of the Tundra's air. "Fine. If you're so intent on battling... if what you truly wish is to paint the pure snow with your blood, then..."

Lazenca's head went up to Valek as a form shot out from his body. "Then I suppose I'll set aside inhibitions and just..."

With the blade resting on his shoulder, Valek laughed as the forming shadow sprinted towards him. "Sending a simple spirit? Is this the extent of your ability?

Sezahm... I'm too Black for this. But who am I to deny a madman's request of euthenasia? If it's what you want, then I'll..."

A bitter wind blew through the area, rattling the picks, hoes, scythes, and swords left in the ground. This wasn't Lazenca's first time noticing them, but hearing them clatter like the bones of many skeletons broght the imagery into his mind. No doubt that this thing had killed many in his life and with that sword, no less. Well, Lazenca wasn't one to run away too much, if the person kept pressing the issue. Sometimes, you just had to stand your ground and issue a severe beating.

"...Then I'll just fight you."Lazenca's left foot turned towards the man and he began to walk. The Doppelganger would have reached Valek by this time, and with the hands about the midsection to protect there immediately and be ready to protect anything else, it performed a running push kick, following through the motion so that no matter if Valek dodged or wasn't ready to defend himself and took the attack, the right foot would plant with authority and it'd be ready for the next move.

Valek didn't move at all. It would seem that he was going to stand there and take the kick, which would have been perfectly fine for Lazenca, supposing the man had little actual battle skill when he wasn't transformed into the terrifying form the locals knew him for. Such wasn't the case, for at the last moment the sword bounced off Valek's shoulder and the broadside blocked the kick. One would expect that the power from the attack wouldn't matter since the foot and blade both would be pushed into the wielder, but no more than an inch of give was felt before Valek's hand pushed forward. Such a move would make a diagonal of the sword along the Z plane and force the Doppelganger's kick to slide to the right. Immediately following the block and redirect, the sword's tip was whipped outward. With the Doppelganger's foot made to go to his own right, the body was exposed for a slash across the chest.

The block, redirect, and slash came quickly, too quickly to mount any respectable defense. All that it could do was to lift a shoulder and begin to lean back, that most of the slash would be taken in the arm. Immediately leaning in again and ignoring what pain there should have been, its left foot lifted enough to deliver a left shin kick, followed by a right hook kick.

The Doppelganger would meet with more failure, the blade's broadside sweeping under like a golf swing, intercepting the foot and returning it to the sender. If the shadowy person continued his motion to the second kick, then its balance would be horrible and it'd be unable to stop the downward thrust into its chest, immediately followed by a downward yank that sought to split the magical being's ribcage apart.

While there was no aknowledgement of pain from the Doppler, the ripping caused it to stop moving, its head going limp to the side while the rip was performed. When completed, the Doppelganger exploded into a torrent of ice and snow through which Lazenca ran, a balled and cocked right fist moving though the eruption to rock Valek's face like a hurricane.

Here's where things get interesting-- Lazenca's hit connected. Valek was sent backwards a few steps, absolutely stunned that the Shieldbreaker didn't instantly jump into action.

"What--"

Lazenca, never letting up when he saw an opening, brought up the left fist to hook. Another suprising success, as Valek stumbled to his right. The being's eyes were filled with spirals and its throat choked with the words that Lazenca's fist forced him to swallow.

"Why!"

Lazenca's arms moved up as he chased Valek in his wavering path, catching the man by the right wrist as he fell and an extra hand on his forearm...

"He's going to die, isn't he?"

...with the elbow snapping backwards on Lazenca's rising right knee.

"Every time I step away, they try our patience..."

Physically unable to hold the sword, Valek's weapon slipped from immobile fingers and fell to the ground beside him as the beast howled in pain. His left hand rose quickly and the body twisted in the grasp so that he could stun Lazenca enough that he would release the hold, and regain the weapon that had betrayed him. Two blows struck Laz in the side of the face as the man thrashed, forcing him to close the eye. Lazenca continued to hold the arm and when the third hit came, Lazenca tucked his shoulder and threw the leg right leg over Valek so that he was stradling. The right hand left the forearm and glided over the chest to restrain Valek's left hand.

"Maybe in another setting, we could have been friends?"

After the men looked each other in the eyes, Lazenca's brows furrowed and he revealed his fangs in one of the most heartless smiles he'd ever given, before leaning down and parting jaws.

"But not in this one."

~FMV Sequence~

What is this...?

What the hell---?!

The moment he stepped foot within, his entire body seemed to freeze in place.

It was the air.

And the smell.

IT was all too heavy with the scent of decayed blood... and the air was horribly stale. The cold was numb biting and added to the morbid setting.

This... can't be... I can't be see....ing...

Even behind the goggles, which did nothing by the way, yellowed eyes widened, the shock on his face unseen.

Just bodies littered the floor... as if making a small pathway for him to follow.

"..No..."

He felt numbed to the very core and wondered later how it is he was even able to walk forward, let alone navigate the main hallway.

Signs of a struggle... could be seen everywhere, but the result was plain as day before the warrior.

Decimated. Ruined. Destroyed.

A gloved hand pressed against a near wall, touching the dired splotches, and curving around the clean sword slash leading downward.

He bent, hand reaching right down into a pile of snow, pulling on strands of cotton, only to come up with a patchwork doll.

"ARRRRRUGH!!!!"

Fair enough, if she wasn't going to answer then Ruuvan wasn't going to ask again and things shifted from getting answers to simply ending this fight.

As soon as he saw her legs moving in an attempt to return the sweep, Ruuvan raised his right foot, clad in the Elven armour of a warrior of the light, and stamped down to stop and break her leg before it could connect. As if he was simply walking now, Ruu took another step and aimed to crush her other leg in much the same manner.

::Crunch!

The sound of snow squishing beneath Ruuvans feet as he stomped down and had his elven boots buried up to the ankle in snow. She was no strong, she was no durable, but she was quick...very quick. Because in the time it took Ruu to bring his foot down, she had thrown her leg back and under, pushing herself up, and was bringing all those lovely needles inwards toward Ruuvan's thigh.

She aimed for the thigh for a very specific reason. Should Ruuvan dodge, or retreat his leg, he would have to grow through her needly grasp.

As far as she knew, she only needed one Necrogen injection to kill the majority of the brain and perserve a mumbling moaning, flesh bag. Otherwise known as spare parts.::

---

::The scream echoed out across the empty base, and across the barren snow covered landscape. The only response he would hear back, was the sound of his own voice rippling down the halls and echoing back.

There was nothing here, nothing left...And the culprit left no calling cards but the very scarce corpses of creatures barely human. They seemed not rotted but warped from within, made into "things", some humanoid, some entirely not. And around them was the sight of some sort of dried black substance trying to pass itself off as blood.

In the distance it seeme thunder was rolling in, how fitting...a storm without to match the one within.::
