SullenFever98 Hookani Keiki Is it flutist or foutist? This was discussed before. Floutist is more professional and flutist is more amateur It's acutally spelled flAUtist

Just incase no one knew, flute was originally designed to be a male instrument because it takes the most air out of all the instruments. To blow in a flute to make a sound take more air than trombone, or even tuba. Piccolo flute is an exception cuz it takes less air. Alto and Bass an Contrabass.... that's another story. you would hav a bloated face while u play those..... (Esp. contrabass)

Funny how it turned out that most guys view the flute as a girly instrument. Of course I think everyone knows that it takes more air to play the flute. You're blowing straight into it, there's no friction between your air stream and the instrument. or somethin' like that

sydneyscivit Kyo_cat_zodiac i amtrying to get a picclo for marching band next season I love my flute, but marching picc. is so much fun. I just don't like flutes on the field. In our school all the people that play the flute get piccs, so if you break your picc then you have to use ur flute and you really stand out xD I'd hate to have to march with my flute. It must be really hard as opposed to the picc, which is so small.

Me: I dont know? how? Fitze: Shoot one. *we laugh* Me: K, but shoot Vivi first. Vivi: WHAT! Fitze: *throws conducting baton at Vivi O.O you have someone named Vivi in your band?! Miangel Damn, my flute's gonna be around 75 dollars to fix. Joy. >> Well, at least I'M not paying for it! XP It's so funny... Monday and Tuesday people kept asking why we were playing pep band music. xd The sign of pep band in our class is when me and two other girls pull out saxes rather than our concert instruments (flute/oboe/clarinet), so everyone kept thinking that we were playing pep since I had my sax. I had to explain to about half the class that my flute was in the shop. XD Dang, what happened? And who's paying for it? xD I lost a pad under my flutes thumb key... it was loose for like, 2 years and then this year it just fell off and I haven't done anything about it yet sweatdrop xd

Gone Arai Heh, same thing happens for me when I pull out my alto. Today we got a new chart, "Yakety Sax", a sax feature, so I got my alto out and everyone got confused. I shoulda stayed on flute today though, two of the five in our class were absent. And one that was there can't play well at all... But I had fun on alto. sweatdrop I need to fix my flute too... stupid trill keys and Eb key are all clicky. But at least it's not like my alto where I found half an inch of the screw for one of the rods coming out. I need to find a screwdriver kit so I can fix that... hmmm... We have a clarinet feature called 'Clarinade'. The songs that always have a section featured have stupid names xD

I'm pooped. Yesterday I had a three hour symphony rehersal early in the morning, followed by two two-hour performances of a musical (with 60 or so kids running around). Then I had another performance today, with the symphony concert tomorrow which we're not ready for. We only have 16ish violins, two violas, two cellos, and four flutes, as well as the occasional college clarinet or brass instrument.
Our flute section would sound fine, but one of the girls plays flute only on thursdays, and she was 10th chair when she played in band. She's really nice, but I wish she could tune better.
Then I might not get to go to our competition on tuesday, because it would require my mom going somewhere to get something notarized. It is really annoying. Not to mention the television set fell on my head on Friday.
