It was finally time, Amonee felt, to add the meat to the community pot. He had contemplated doing so earlier but had deduced that leaving it in for so long would overcook it. With a bowlful of cluckbeast and finbeast meat, he made his way through the crowd and carefully dropped the pieces into the delicious bubbling broth. He wanted to eat it so badly! Every bit looked tasty, even the somewhat strange additions looked sort of interesting.
"I can't wait, can you?" The jadeblood giggled with his neighbor and the two struck up a minor conversation about how it was sure to taste divine. It was getting closer and closer to that time! The two laughed before the other troll excused herself to find her matesprit. Amonee gave the pot one last glance before heading back into the masses and looking for a few last things to do. Soon he would have to return home to Busthind and settle back into the normal everynight life which wasn't bad but definitely not as social!Quote: I'm potentially poisoning everyone. Quote: I'm getting trampled by a snoutbeast! Hurray! Total time: +25 seconds Tickets won: Needle in the haystack thing? s**t. Mooncakes? Double s**t. For Eridia, the whole thing was just garbage and boring. Her mooncakes were a disaster, she had absolutely NOTHING to brag about... But then, and idea occurred to her. The snoutbeast. She didn't care about getting dirty as long as she got her prize. Eridia strutted towards the snoutbeast pen and asked, well, demanded them to let her wrestle the smaller beast. Once the pig was loose, Eridia smirked obssesively. That prize was as good as hers.

The farmer had not taken kindly to his little chat earlier.
"Urm, sorry." Nucleo mumbled as she glared at him. How dare he have insinuated she might have been cheating all these trolls! Nucleo felt bad. He hadn't meant it as a full blown accusation but could see why she was offended. He'd kind of been hoping the farmer would have taken it as a joke. Instead she gave him only one second for his final round of searching for the haystack before calling the next troll over and wordlessly telling him to get moving. He would have complained but he understood why she was brushing him off. Slinking off, he decided to move on to the next stall.Quote: I'm digging in the haystack ... I found: nothing Tickets won: 1

"Ack!" His last mooncake of the festival had turned out terrible. After the fiasco with the farmer at the haystack booth, Nucleo was worried that this one was going to be irritated with him too. He was usually a very friendly and likeable troll but seeming to be striking out for some reason. To his luck, the greenblood farmer ruffled his hair with a smile and leaned in to whisper to him.
"There isn't just one perfect moon! Your mooncake is perfect for someone out there."
Uncertain of what she was suggesting, Nucleo flushed at her phrasing. Thanking her for the sentiment, the greenblood thanked her with a hug and then scurried off, trying not to think too hard about what kind of troll he'd share mooncakes with next sweep.Quote: I'm burning mooncakes! "I'm not using this punkin anyway." Nucleo reasoned and walked over to the community pot. He was itching to go turn in his remaining crops at the crop bartering stand but figured he could spare at least one. Nucleo still felt guilty for abandoning his last tarnip in the name of tickets. Maybe, just maybe, it was still there! Dropping the punkin in whole, he didn't think to dice it until he was already a good distance away. Oh well, it'd be decorative!Quote: I'm potentially poisoning everyone. Quality increase: +3 Barter crop: 1 punkin Tickets won: 2

Quote: I'm digging in the haystack ... How in Alternia were other trolls getting buttons or even that mythical needle. Sighing, she shrugged at CD who whuffed happily back. Sometimes, life had mysteries with no answers. Like a needle in the haystack. Treide didn't find her answer here, but maybe somewhere else would hold it.

Almost more so than she had been in a very long time. CD whined softly, displeased at his daughter's angry display. Rounding on her father, she hiccuped softly and wiped at her eyes, "It's not fair! Why... I tried so hard and my last mooncakes were..." "This is perfect! You picked a great ingredient." Surprised, Treide turned and blinked at the older troll manning the station. "Thank you." Well... Maybe... Maybe this wasn't so bad after all.

Quote: I'm burning mooncakes! I mean baking. My cakes are: nutty, flaky, pressed too hard, well-cooked Tickets won: 2 Standing there, sweating slightly, Hemera understood something. Perfection was hard. Really, really hard. And she never made it to making an amazing batch of moon cakes. She tried and she tried, many a time, but she did not catch on as well as she had hoped.
However.
She was not an utter failure, either. Her last batch was good. Good. They only had one issue, and that was aesthetic and aesthetic alone. They were amazing compared to her first attempts. Despite the frustration, she had gotten better. Mera was capable of developing the craft, even when it seemed impossible.
By her lusus's standards, she was not up to par. But perhaps she would get there someday. For now, she would try to stop worrying and enjoy these cakes. Perhaps find Afryse again to enjoy them with, too.

Quote: I'm potentially poisoning everyone. Quality increase: (I think it was 12?) +3 Barter crop: N/A Tickets won: 2 This was it- not much time left before the stew was supposed to be served up. Hemera was excited. Despite what she had seen before, she still had faith that with everyone pitching in, the soup would be amazing. Her faith doubled because of her own efforts. They weren't always spectacular, no, but she did succeed sometimes. And now, too, she planned to add one more good thing to the pot.
She let the item splash it, soak, then sink. Excellent. She would have to make sure she had an appetite when the time was right!
