The first tree he encountered was...interesting to say the least. It had asked what it was hiding, and while he was tempted not to ask, a small voice nudge his curiosity and so he asked, "What are you hiding?"
The tree revealed a fragment in its mouth, and Mitfael could only squint some more before taking it. Why was it in its mouth...?

He really hadn't gotten far from the sign when he paused, head tilted. Someone was... crying? One foot still hanging in the air mid-step, Partridge swiveled his body and his foot hit the ground with a thunk as he wandered in the direction of the sobs. Didn't take him especially long to find the source, leaning back a little to get a better look at the broken tree. When it began to sob about its glasses, the Mad Hatter pursed his lips, glancing at his own pair sitting on his nose. Well. He could at least sympathize with the thing. "Gimme a sec, would ya? I'll see if I can find them."
It felt like the least he could do after all, being a four-eyed type himself. As he began to search, a shock of red caught his eyes and he peered up. A mouse-girl was running around the forest as well. He couldn't see her username from where he stood, but he figured speaking in the public chat wouldn't be a bad thing. "Don't trip over moving ground," he laughed, finding a large amount of amusement in the lame joke. Of course, his own eyes darted back down soon enough, trying to look for those dratted glasses.

Lean and lengthy, Partridge_in_a_Skulltree is a young man with blue-white hair shaved along the right side of his head, with the rest of his hair left to flop to the left. Blue-rimmed glasses sit at the end of his nose, the same pale blue as his eyes. A Mad Hatter to the end, his trademark coat and hat are both a dark blue. Underneath can be seen a tight white shirt, loose black pants, and crisscrossing brown belts.
The sign had said to investigate the trees, and the first that caught Shaheen's attention was one that was striped.
Striped tree. That was new. Talking tree.
....That wasn't exactly out of the realm of possibility where she was from. Halloween held such a variety of creatures.
"I suppose I could help you out, though I still think you look a bit silly."She grumbled, starting towards it, placing her hands along it's trunk and giving it a good shake, watching as it's colors continued to change in a way that was less alarming then it probably should have been. WarQueen had seen her fair share of curious occurrences. Nothing really surprised her anymore.
After she had finished, a reward was given in the form of a fragment. "That is sufficient payment indeed. Thank you, Tree." She bent down to retrieve the loot, slipping it away.

Whelp this was much better than not having knees. Names were easy to come up with; most would use some nonsensicle slurry of letters and numbers that made absolutely no sense unless you looked at it the right way. She was much more inventive than that.
'Phymi' winked into existence in the little bar and the user interface changed. The tutorial NPC was darling though, Phymi really could care less about the story.
She tapped a finger to her chin in thought, scrolling through the class selection list. Heavy damage, or range. Heavy damage or range... Healing and tanking were out of the question, and goodness knows her luck she'd kill herself as a Mad Hatter. After a few moments, she decided on the Cheshire Cat class. Range, claws, and an awesome scarf.
She let the game do whatever it was going to do to put her and the Cheshire Cat together and waited.
Then suddenly trees! Living trees! Well then. She wiggled, shifting her outfit around to get a feel for the range of motion she had, as well as fluffing her hair. Well then this was interesting.
"This should be fun!" She, like other people who were spawning around her, walked to the sign post and picked up the quest. Search five trees. Well, a'right then.
"For the knees! I mean trees!" And off she ran.

The second tree was very different in comparison to the first...obviously since it was crying. Mitfael couldn't help but let out an exasperated sigh before replying, "Yes. I'll help you find your glasses."

[2/5] Her private chat showed a blip for the first time since speaking to the AI; a user who goes by Partridge_in_a_Skulltree was attempting some type conversation. She responded publicly, "Oh! I thought I was alone here, well,.. alone with the talking, fighting foliage.." She bobbed her head around to see if she could spot this Partridge character but at first all she could see was trees; one in-particular seemed to stand firmly in her way with a unhappy mug that warranted some inquisition.

2: The second tree is a wide tree and doesn't look too happy to see you. It crosses its arms. "I don't think so, the last people who were here were terribly mean about it. Terribly, terribly mean and it just won't do anymore. If you come any closer I will have to resort to violence I mean it! Don't come any closer!"
So there are other people around here! Was this Partridge person making all the trees around her upset? Seemed like every one she spoke to had a bad experience... "Well, I'm terribly sorry you feel that way Mr. Tree. But I mean no harm to you so please let me pass!" She tried to be stern but polite. Something about the enchanted scenery here made her want to be especially polite to everything.
Edging around the large tree as far away as she could she could feel its angry glare burning into her as she skuttled by just barely out of reach of its battering limbs.
With the large tree behind her she looked deeper into the forest, spotting a rather dapper looking young man bobbing through the woods apparently doing some tree investigation of his own. Even if he was the one riling up these trees maybe she should at least introduce herself and see what he's all about.
That would be the polite thing to do.

1: The first tree is a long tree, and bends down to look at you with hollow sleepy eyes as you reach over. "Oh, please, you're not putting your hand in my nose are you? That's so very disgusting, and I'm afraid I haven't cleaned up yet. Very disgusting indeed. Come back again when I'm clean."
When you come back the tree is gone.
Well here was the first tree. She made to start searching it when it made quite a fuss about putting her hand in it's nose.
"I... why would I be doing that? I... okay." So she wandered off for a few minutes.
Five minutes came and went and she went back, thinking the tree didn't need that much time to get clean. And it was gone.
"... Stupid trees."

He searched, and searched, but the glasses were no where to be found. Mitfael gives the tree a pat before bowing his head in apology. He leaves with the tree still sobbing in the background.

"Well you're just being rude and taking things too personally! You're a tree! Hmph!" She huffed and walked away from the tree. No need to take that from a pissy tree.

If you don't guess the tree looks disappointed. "Oh, okay..." It does not give you a fragment.
The next tree was tiny, and had teeth. That's not... odd at all. It asked her a question, clearly incredibly excited about this idea. Phymi decided to appease the little tree. It was adorable after all.
"Okay, whacha hiding? A cat?" she asked the tree. No cat was given, but a fragment was. Phymi blinked and picked it up. Huh, she hadn't expected them to be this easy to find.
"Thank you little tree!" And she scampered off.

The second tree was crying. It was enough to give WarQueen pause, and apparently enough again to have her make her way towards it. "Why do you cry, tree?" She asked, waiting for it's response, eyebrows furrowing as it gave her one.
Glasses? A tree that needed glasses? She sighed, and had a quick glance around.

10: You reach a tree and on top of it is a smiling set of teeth. Not the tree itself, just on top of it. "You seem a little lost", says the smiling set of teeth, "but not to worry. Everyone's quite lost here. I hope you find your way, there's so much more for you to get lost in."
Before you can ask what it means, it is gone.
The third tree didn't actually reply, instead, something else occupying did. Mitfael couldn't ask or gain any sort of information from what it meant as the moment he turned to talk, the creature had already disappeared.

AJ was always ready for a new adventure, so he jumped down the rabbit hole without thinking, drank that thing without thinking and made a username without thinking. The sweet apron ghoul told him that he was playing a game called Wonderland, he was excited because he never play any game in his dream.
"Where are we? I am hungry, can I eat?" The Head with a teapot on its head asked. "We are dreaming, just enjoy now because it's gonna be forgotten when we wake up." The duo examined the area they were standing, purple trees here, a peach colored one there, some with stripes and some don't. Each of them were alive. "It is so WEIRDDDDDDDDD." Head exclaimed, eyes searching for possible food subject.
"Look! There's a lemon stick! Can I have it?" Snakebyte moved closer and it began to speak. "I am not food, your idiot." The sign obviously wasn't happy about the drools wetted its wooden body and sent them to examine five trees within the woods.
"So it isn't a lemon and taros dessert? I thought all the things here can be eaten?" The Head pouted.

Light tanned, with a two pair of crimoson eyes and some scales on his forehead. He got a silky silver hair tinged with red at the end, tied in a ponytail. The boil was wearing a standard Mad Hatter attire in red, noted that he got a sentiment tail partner as companion. He is always seen smiling.
6: You reach a long, slender tree and it looks quite ordinary. "Hello," says the long slender tree. "I have a small question. I have two friends, Dilly, Milly, and Nilly. Nilly is taller than Dilly, but shorter than me. Dilly is shorter than Milly but taller than me. How tall am I?"
If you answer as truthfully as you can the tree says "No, why, I do not think that's the answer at all. You are very wrong."
The fourth tree was one Mitfael had squinted at for a long time until it felt uncomfortable by the stare and left on its own account. It had asked a question, and Mitfael had answer truthfully. However, the answer wasn't correct apparently, but the Gryphon was certain he was correct, and thus a one sided staring contest happened and...well, you already know what happened.

8: You reach a tree with stripes. Trees with stripes, how silly!
"I beg your pardon," says the tree with stripes, "but I am not silly at all. In here everything is possible and anything is impossible and therefore a tree with stripes is completely within everything and anything." Its stripes change colours. "Now, give me a good, good shake. I want to get some more colour out. Shake me really well, if you do I'll reward you."
If you shake the tree it laughs happily and then spits out a fragment. It bids you your merry way as you continue walking. +1 fragment.
Apparently, both of them were interested in the stripy tree. Just one was thinking of candycane the candy while another one was just curious about it. They shook the tree so hard that some of its leaves fell like raining. Maybe the tree treated it as a tickle, it giggled non-stop while a fragment threw out.
