Merrick rose fluidly from one knee, scooping up both goblets in one hand as Hobbs opened the flexible tap and let the peach-earthpea wine fill the goblets in a smooth movement before he handed one to Constance, failing to notice a slight flicker of golden chakra flickering over the goblets as they turned a deep silver from the minerals hidden within the clay.

Kasumi shifted, a faint frown flickering ove her face as she thought of something. It was rarely done for anyone short of mates, but she had the feeling it would give them a massive advantage over the demons. A faint smile flashed over her face at the idea.

Lorcán tilted his head with a thoughtful expression. Martha laughed as she shifted her arms, rolling up the ramp.

Hobbs twisted the knob on the nozzle lightly as he saw Merrick scoop up both of the goblets and swiftly fill them up. He blinked at the fluidity and speed of the movement, as it rivaled the skill of most master bartenders he'd seen.

"Thank you," Constance said as she took the cup from Merrick. The smell of the wine was sweet and as she lifted the cup to her lips she swallowed a little. "Hmm, that's delicious," she said with a smile at Hobbs and Merrick. ~~~~ Merida saw the smirk that Kasumi had and she raised her eyebrow slightly. "What are you thinking now?" Her head tiled to the side slightly before she sighed and jumped off the wall. She was tired of sitting already. ~~~~ Cassandra looked over at Lorcan. "What are you thinking about?"

Merrick smiled slightly as he took a sip of the wine, enjoying the subtle play between sweetness and tanginess. "Maybe it's a good thing, in more ways than one, that people don't know about this place; they'd be clamoring for the drinks alone, I'm certain," he said thoughtfully.

Kasumi tilted her head as she leaned against the wall. "There is a method of 'giving' the 'near-immortality' of Kitsune, but it's rarely done for anyone other than mates; it also creates a telepathic and empathic bond between holders, so they would be able to track each other from long distances and sense if someone were harming them in any way," she said quietly; she knew of the technique, but had never done it herself and as a result her children had the longevity that was close to Kitsune, being able to live close to two hundred years of age before actually starting to show even the slightest sign of wrinkles or silver hair, but were quite mortal and subject to death just like any other creature. She heard a whistle and jerked, seeing her brother crouching just behind Merida though at the moment he wore a black shirt, dark green cargo pants, and a crimson vest. He tilted his head slightly with a foxy grin. He knew what Kasumi suspected, that the fox elemental supposedly sealed within him had been sealed within another unfortunate soul.

Lorcán smiled slightly before he saw Martha tilt sharply before she was dumped out of the wheelchair. His hand snapped out, a cushion of condensed air forming beneath Martha as she fell, her eyes obviously squeezed shut in fear. "Keeping innocent people from getting hurt," he said quietly. Martha turned before she slid slightly to her left on a bump, the wheelchair tilting sharply as it did. She gasped in surprise and fear as it dumped her out of the wheelchair, but was startled when she opened her eyes to find herself hovering an inch above the ramp floor.

"And don't forget the food," Constance said as she took another drink. It was better than any other wine she had ever tasted, and she really wasn't all that surprised. Especially since this was where Merrick learned how to cook and he was great at it. ~~~ Merida looked at Kasumi thoughtfully. "That would be helpful in a tough situation. I am sure Merrick and Constance could use that." She heard a whistle and looked over her shoulder to see Kasumi's brother crouching behind her. She smirked a little and nodded to him. "It is good to see you again. I was wondering where you had run off to."~~~~ Cassandra smiled slightly and nodded. "That's all we ever try to do. And most of the time we are able to do that. Sometimes though...we are too late." She sighed and shook her head. "I have a feeling that before all of this is over, we are going to see more innocents harmed." She saw Martha begin to fall and as she stepped forward, prepared to stop her, Lorcan had already acted. She chuckled and looked to him. "Very quick of you."

Merrick tilted his head in a nod. "That's the problem with people. They always think they're better than nature and its creatures, yet if they were to work with nature rather than against it, they would find out far more startling things are hidden in what is the 'everyday' world," he said wryly.

Naruto grinned. "Why do you think my nickname is Kin no Kage? I can slip into places unnoticed easily. Besides, I find it funny to sneak up on people," he said with a grin. Kasumi rolled her eyes at her brother's nickname, which translated to the 'Golden Shadow'.

Lorcán sighed. "I am well aware that there are those out there that either don't want to be saved or can't be saved," he said wryly. He tilted his head fractionally in amusement at the simple trick of elemental manipulation.

Constance nodded in agreement. Merrick was right. Too many peopled worked against nature. Whether it was destroying a tree or killing a creature. "Hmm, how about we move on now?" She suggested with a smile. "If I drink much more of this wine, I am afraid I might be too easily taken advantage of." She winked at Merrick. ~~~~ Merida laughed and shook her head. "Well I didn't know what your nickname was, but thanks for telling me." She rolled her eyes a little when he said he found it funny to sneak up on people. "Ah, you guys are alike." She said teasingly. ~~~~ Cassandra turned Martha's chair back over so it stood upright. "Too many don't want to be saved unfortunately." She shook her head a little, not wanting to think about it.

Merrick cocked an eyebrow when Constance winked as he shifted his hand, an orb of golden light, a basic technique of lightning manipulation known as Denkyū. "That doorway leads to a tunnel that comes up on the outside of the Abbey's wall, though it's usually used to gather herbs for poultices and other things, he said with amusement.

Naruto laughed as Kasumi snorted. "We're nothing alike; he's more the 'beat the s**t outta something before asking questions' kind of person, while I prefer to 'scare the s**t outta something before asking questions', and usually what I catch is recognizable afterward, unlike a certain blond," she said dryly. Naruto just grinned widely, not seeming to notice his sister's annoyance or the less-than-subtle insult.

Lorcán gently let Martha touch the ground before the haremaid pulled herself up with the railing on the wall before carefully and slowly walking the couple of feet to the wheelchair. "I can't wait to startle everyone," she murmured as she slid into the wheelchair.

Hobbs snorted a low rumbling chuckle. "Go on, you two lovebirds; it'd be kinda hard to drink anything if it's steam from the heat you two are putting off," he said, deliberately being less than subtle.

Kaosujin Ryu sorry it's short..gotta run Constance looked at Hobbs with a grin. "Thanks Hobbs, we'll see you later." She gave his arm a gentle pat as she walked towards the doorway Merrick had pointed out. ~~~ "I meant you two were similar in the way that you both like to sneak up on people." Merida said with a small shrug. She began to walk slowly. "I think I'll explore some more." She looked over her shoulder at them. ~~~~ "And I cannot wait to see their faces," Cassandra said with a smile.

Alede OOC - Life... Ah think tha's all I have ta say 'bout dat... Merrick paused momentarily in following Constance into the tunnel to outside when an image flashed in his mind, extremely strong in his mind: Constance grinning as they danced in the trees. Something about it felt off, however, though he couldn't put his finger on what it could be.

Lorcán smiled as Martha turned the wheelchair and headed up another ramp into a hallway that was surprisingly well lit. There were several doors to the right before one opened to reveal a tall molemaid who was speaking to somebody sternly but kindly before she shut the door.

Constance looked over her shoulder at Merrick who had stopped just in the entrance of the tunnel. "Merrick, is something wrong?" She had stopped walking, waiting for him to join her. ~~~~~ Merida hummed softly as she began to walk off, leaving them to do whatever they wanted to do. ~~~~~ Cassandra followed after Martha with Lorcan. She smiled when she saw the tall molemaid.

Merrick shifted as he shook his head, feeling the image fade from his mind. He flicked his fingers, sending the ball of light down the tunnel where it floated ahead of them, supported only by a thin thread of energy that was so thin it made spider thread seem like a steel shipping cable. "It's nothing," he said with an edge of amusement.

Kasumi saw the challenging look in her brother's eye and followed as he leaped off in a blur of movement into the trees at high speed. She was almost certain what he had in mind, since it was an old challenge between her and him.

Kaosujin Ryu I am gonna assume that is Mother Mellus? Constance nodded her head a little and smiled at him. She watched the ball of light speed ahead of them so that it lighted their way. "Merrick, what I have seen of this place...it's simply amazing." Her head tilted to the side slightly as she sighed. If only it could always be like this. So peaceful, so wonderful. ~~~~ Merida pulled her hair up into a ponytail as the sun beat down on her. It wasn't too hot; it was pleasant actually. ~~~~ Cassandra smiled as the molmaid turned towards them. "Mother Mellus, it is good to see you again."

Merrick tilted his head. He knew from experience it wasn't completely peaceful at all times. "It isn't always peaceful, though I can genuinely say that things aren't quite as peaceful at times. I do know that Tansy was Abbess here when I was here before. It seems she has either retired or passed away," he said with a sigh. He knew Arven was still alive, since he'd seen him among the others in the Great Hall.

Mother Mellus smiled as she finally recognized the young woman before her. "You have grown quite a bit since I last saw you, Cassie. Who is with you and young Martha?" she said with amusement.

"No place is always peaceful," Constance said as she glanced over at Merrick. "Everywhere has their ups and downs. But here, it's so different than back home." She smiled as they walked through the tunnel. Constance rested her hand on Merrick's arm when he mentioned the Abbess. "Well, hopefully this Tansy has just retired."~~~~~~ Cassandra smiled as she held onto Lorcan's hand. "Lorcan, this is Mother Mellus. Mother Mellus, this is Lorcan. He is my mate." She looked between the two of them, waiting for either of them to say something.

Merrick tilted his head; he suspected she had, since Arven was still alive. "It's likely, since her best friend was among those upstairs, and Tansy likely passed the position to Songbreeze," he said thoughtfully. He let his hand rest on the two inch thick double doors ahead of them and a couple of feet above their heads. He pushed lightly and let the doors swing open; the reason no sunlight streamed through was that they were camoflauged into a thick pine tree just outside the east wall. He looked up to see two blurs of reddish navy and another of greenish blond shoot overhead. A grin unconsciously flashed over his face as he recognized his uncle, as the shinobi had visited him from time to time in the monastery. "Maybe I can show you a few tricks my uncle showed me when I was younger... some of them are very useful," he said with amusement as he noticed a flicker of black nearby and recognized it as Merida.
