The silver-haired girl laughed softly. I was born here, she started in response. But I guess being forced to stay here is some sort of punishment, isn't it? Acacia looked up to Shinji and shrugged. I think it would be punishment if you were forced to stay somewhere and you longed to explore... Maybe it's just me though.

Naw, I agree that it's rather punishment to be held somewhere when you want to broaden your horizons. But you were born here? He cocked his head some to the girl, rather confused by what seemed to be clashing statements.

Ummm, yes? she replied, tilting her head. Not in this store or anything, but.. I mean, in this general area. The girl moved her arms out to her sides as if showing him. Like, this town or whatever. She looked to him, confused. Was I not supposed to be or something?

Shinji laughed softly, shaking his head as he reached to gently take her hands to stop her from moving them. I get it, I get it - it was more a question from surprise and confusion on my part. You said you were new here, but you said you were born here, and you look...well...Older. He assumed that simply meant the girl was from magical parents of sorts, but he wasn't going to be invasive and ask.

The girl blushed still. I am new. I'm like... she paused to think for a moment. Five or so hours old? She held out her hand to him, holding up all five fingers. I really don't know though. She let her arm fall to her side as she shifted her weight to one leg.

Well in that case, welcome not only to the Underground, but to life as well? Shinji laughed, offering his arms up to embrace the girl though he wasn't sure she'd accept his gesture. If I were to age normally, I'd only be about four years old...I think. He laughed again, running his hand through his hair before offering still the hug.

Acacia held her arms out, copying his gesture. She tilted her head and looked to him with a light giggle. What are we doing?

I was going to hug you...? Shinji chuckled before taking a step forward to wrap his arms around the girl, as if they were longtime friends just being reunited.

Ohh, she replied, dumbfoundedly, wrapping her arms around him in return. No one's hugged me yet... like this. Acacia looked up to him and smiled brightly.

Really? Shinji asked, tilting his head as he looked down to her. Well, I'm glad to be your first! he laughed, blushing faintly at how easily the phrase rolled off his tongue. You probably haven't gotten to experience much in your five hours of life, huh?

She pouted. No, I haven't. I'm still feeling iffy about even being alive. I don't think I was created the right way. The girl shrugged and looked up to him again. Is there something else I should experience? Acacia blushed, thinking on how inappropriate her question probably sounded, and hoped the other wouldn't think she was weird and leave.

There're billions of things to experience, but...You don't think you were created the right way? Shinji asked, gently letting go of the girl but keeping close, as he felt strangely at ease with her. Why do you say that? It wasn't particularly his business, but he hoped he could help her with erasing that thought.

Well, if you're sure, Shinji started, dipping his head to look to her some before glancing to see what it was she looked at. When he glanced to his stomach as well, he blushed faintly, and a laugh escaped his lips. Hmn...There're lots of things. A hug, which you've somewhat experienced...If you're only five hours old...you probably still get to do some of the fun stuff. Shinji choked a laugh and shook his head, blushing some. Though I'm not sure how highly ranked vomiting and using the bathroom are on the fun-scale...Have you eaten anything? Food is always good to experience.

I had an apple fritter, she replied. I'm not hungry though. Are you hungry? Acacia tilted her head as she looked up to him. I'm not keeping you here if you are hungry... Though... She trailed off and looked down quickly, blushing. You can go.
