"You can say that again!" Mala said easilly in reply. Before they could get to the very top, Mala stopped. "Say, Van...what the hell are we going to do if our crew is dead as well?"

"...." Van stopped as well to think that one over. "Take a rowboat, head for land, then follow the coastline to the nearest port town?" he suggested.

Mala sighed. "Very well." she said, right before she opened the door. Mala glanced about, searching for any sign of their crew.
{Goodnight. As for the rolls, 1-5 means none survived. 6-10 means one or two crewmembers still left. 11-15 means most survived. 16-20 means all are okay.}

((Speaking from my time zone, it's like this is some weird sign that we should only attempt rolling gaia dice at night. Any other time of day will get us killed. xd ))

Mala burst into laughter, purely relieved by this all. "Oh, Van! You shouldn't say such things, else our luck might run out soon." she warned him, since the universe had a tendency to be a b***h when tempted.

Every single time I said things were going smoothly, something heavy and hard somehow whacked me across the head - and each time I ended up being knocked out cold. It's a wonder I haven't died of brain damage yet." she said flatly and with much annoyance at the memory.

"Hopefully the rest of the trip isn't quite so eventful." Van said looking out at the waves as their journey continued. The waves which made him remember Riley got seasick. He proceeded to head back to the lower deck, the one in between the upper deck and the dead pirate deck.
