Morphaine threw Gabe into a holding cell. The dungon was a place Gabe knew only too well, underground, in the basement of the castle that seemed to be made out of trees. Otherwise known as 'The Elder's Council.' Gabe rithed in pain as he was locked in. "Too bad it had to come to this, Prince. But you see, I have no other choice." Morphaine smirked. "The Elders will get to you as soon as they have an opening. Here." Morphaine tossed Gabe a loaf of bread. "Lunch." He smirked and was off.
Gabe couldn't sit against something, or lay down. His scars hurt too much. He should have known the scars had been cursed. He sat up and nibbled at his loaf of bread. He wasn't that hungry. He waided his options. Gabe could always try to escape, but that seemed impossible...due to his scars. Not to mantion the many guards. He could wait for someone ot rescue him. That seemed even less likely. Alicia would try to convince everyone to save him. But, Louise knew the Council well. She would object, claming it was a suicide mission (which he tended to agree with) and they would move the group through while the Elves let them, and bring Joey home. And last...he could wait for the Elders to pass judgement on him.
In which case, they would kill him, torture him, or force him to marry and take his place on the throne. Sadly, that seemed like the most likely option. Gabe sighed, taking another bite of his stale bread. No doubt rumors would be spreading of the Prince's return. He guessed the Elders had kept the reason for his true dissapearance a secret, afraid it would cause an uproar. He smirked at the thought of the elders finally being over thrown after...1000 years? Gabe threw the bread at the wall and burried his head in his knees. How could everything have gone so wrong?!

16 year old Prince Gabriel watched as new life seemed to arive in the forest Kalavara. Spring had blossomed, and it had to be the most beautiful morning Gabe had ever witnessed. The cool crisp ar seemed to clense his lungs of the muck that yesterday had left behind.
Gabriel looked outside his bedriim window in awe of the morning's pureness, but for some reason...dissapointed. He should have been happy...he kept reminding himself of that. Pleased at least! Maybe even excited. But, something was off. He glanced to where an old fire scar one had stood, where he had sat with that girl sometime before. Alicia. Her name still clear in his mind, along with the day they had shared together. Though, with that happy memory...bad ones flooded back. The thought, the touch of his scars on his back made him cringe, but no matter how serverly he had been injured there was still no doubt in his mind that he didn't belong here...not anymore at least.
He had been planning for years! Ages it seemed, but Gabe still found no escape. THe Elders; he was at their command, their puppet, thier toy. Gabe was sick of it.
"Sire?" Gaberiel turned to see his advisor, Eron, in the door way. Gabe sighed. eron was scrawny, and lank for an elf. He had been younger then Gabe, him being 16 at he time, and Eron 13, but they had enjoyed eachother's company for many years. "Yes?"
"Sorry to bother you sir, but-"
"Eron? How many times have I explained this to you? I'm you're friend. There's no need for formalities. Call me Gabe." He smiled, placing his hand on his friend's shoulder. "Yes si--...I mean...Gabe." Gabe nodded in approval. "It's time." Gabe sighed, his eyes closing shut. He had dreded this day for years. He opened his eyes, gliding over to look out his window again. "Yes. I suppose it is."

Gabriel was getting ready in his chambers, with the help of eron of course. "I just don't understand it, Gabe." Eron had begun helping him tie a sash around his waist, for his formal attire. "How long has it been since you've seen this human girl? 8 years?"
"7 years, 358 days to be percice." Gabe grinned. Eron rolled his eyes and finishe dtieing the sash, moving onto his chest. "I had to ask." They both laughed. Eron continued. "Lady Naria is beautiful, poised, elegant...I don't see why-"
"That's not the point Eron!" Gabe snapped.
"I appologize, sir. It's not my place."
"No...it's okay..." Gabe sighed, meeting the eyes of his friend. "Yes she is lovely, and I respect Lady Naria very much, it's just-"
"Just?" Eron finished buttoning. Gabe turned back to the window, examining the landscape. "It's just...she's not her, Eron. She's not what I want." Gabe laughed. "that made me sound selfish and greedy." Gabe groaned. Eron straightened him up. "How do you know this human likes you...let alone remembers you?"
"She has to Eron! She just has to." eron sighed, making the finishing touches. "Well, it's a little late, Prince Gabriel." Gabe hugged him. "It's never too late, my friend."
