Sighing, the Admiral headed to the side of the ship, leaning on a slightly battered balustrade as he gazed towards the Anachronism. "Why, Dart, why?" he asked the wind.

Though at first he had gone to check on the status of his guns, and relieve the clanks so that they coul repair themselves if necessary, Elliot overheard the commotion and moved to the site of the incident, bringing a clank with him. Quickl surmising what it appeared had transpired, and Nysth's claims that it didn't, Elliot asked the clank. "Clank. What would cause this kind of damage to one of your units? What kind of strength and hardness of weapon is required, and what pressure must be exterted?"

~Starboard Engine Room~
"Units are designed as replaceable. Requested information is dependent on quality of ambient materials. Unit will test specific instance."
With that, the clank places a foot on the torso of the fallen unit. The metal bends a bit without too much effort. The act also distorts the slashes so they are less useful as evidence.

"Well this is just dandy. Clank! Halt your actions!" Elliot looked down at the now further mangled remins of the clank, contemplating for himself what strength woul dbe required. The weight of the clank was sufficient to bend already damaged metal, but slowly, so it must be that a lot of strength is required. With a blade, and whilst in frenzy, it would be plausible to suggest that Nysth was capable of this damage, but that was one inconsistency. Nysth would only have this kind of strength in a frenxy, which woul dimply a loss of control. On the other hand, this attack was very precise. Only the clank was damaged, none of the surroundings, or anyone, and the cuts were very neat and controlled, unlike Nysth's attacks he had witnessed eariler. This simply did not add up. Taking Nysth's side of the story then... Elliot swung out a shorter sword from inside his coat into the chest of the clank who had so very conveniently damaged the evidence.

~Starboard Engine Room (right, to all ye landlubbers)~
A gash opens up in the body of the clank. Several gears had been damaged by the slice, and the clank looks down at its torso as it grinds to a halt.

Stae buzzed nervously. He hated seeing robots cut, seeing as how he was a robot and feared being smashed. Zee frowned and gently, secretly pressed his hand to the buzzing spider, comforting him. "You think that one's dangerous, too?" Zee asked, looking at the confused, cut clank

[Engine room] "Yes indeed. There is something wrong here. Mr. Kalafailrre clmot certainly did not cuse this dmage; it requires far more discipline than he has in rage. With that in mind, I took his side of the story. Which does add up. And now it seems all the clanks are a libility." Elliot sheathe his sword out of sight, and stoop up, inspecting the newly broken clank for signs of what or who tampered with it.

[engine room] Hearing a screech of metal, Daniel charges around the engine block to find Eli slashing one of the clanks.
"what in tarnation is going on here??" Daniel asks coming closer to inspect the duo of broken machines. "I sure hope you don't plan on breaking them all now. I'm not sure how to go about fixing Ms. Bruno's clanks. Nysth called in about the clank malfunctioning, and the clank called in that nysth was the one that did it." Daniel scratched his head, what was happening here?
"It doesn't look like anything Nysth could do. even enraged the cut is, was too clean." Daniel corrects himself after seeing the mess that was left of the first clank.

[Galley] ((^^))
Penelope finished cooking and looked around. There was still no one in the galley with her. This surprised her a bit, as last time she had started cooking people had just sort of shown up. She shrugged and pulled open the covers of the communication pipes along the wall.
"Hey everybody!" Penelope yelled into them. She wasn't sure how loudly to speak, so top volume didn't seem too bad of an idea. "Lunch is ready in the galley! I made...breakfast..." the silliness of making breakfast for lunch struck her and she trailed off. She was sure someone would laugh at that. So sure, in fact, that Penelope stayed quiet and stood near the pipes listening for anyone to start laughing.

"This second clank, intentionally I beleive, destroyed the evidence. We cannot trust any of them. I suggest we send get all mechanically-minded crew members here. We need to know why the clanks are doing this. Was there not some other strange device shippecd on board with the clanks?"

Elliot no doubt refers to the chest which is under lock and key in the captain's secure hold. A very curious item indeed. When opened it would be revealed to contain a vast assortment of chemicals, both solid and liquid, in an array of vials. It also contains two books, the first a handsomely bound journal bearing the monogram of HJ. The first few entries reveal it to be the research journal of Dr. Henry Jekyll, and quickly go into a very dry description of the development of some scientific mumbo-jumbo.
((Note: in the original novel, the journal speaks only of Jekyll's original researches, and stops a year before the events of the story begin. It makes no mention of Hyde. Therefore this journal will likewise contain only that. However, rumors are likely to spread of the London physician's escapades in this steampunk setting. The specifics are likely mixed up, some stories would have Jekyll and Hyde as separate characters in some sordid tale of blackmail or naughty business. Other tales would have them as one and the same, of course. But of course all these conflicting tales would spread equally as rumor. ))
The second book is a mystery. Similar to the first, it has no monogram or label, and the writing inside is in some sort of indecipherable personal shorthand of fluid but sharp and precise script.

Zee had no businessa disgussing business. He sighed and left the engine room. He went to the dec and leaned over the edge, watching the clouds passed. This was nothing unusal for him. He had spent a year on that balloon he was on. He was used to being alone. Stae scampered about on the floor by him, investigating the rooms, popping in on people's converstation, hopefully unnoticed.
