A steady stream of curses were flowing through her head as she shoved viciously at the thing on her. Something must have happened to the one controlling her for a second because she faltered, and Chaos found her chance. "Back off you metallic b***h!" she growled as she tripped her own power for the first time. Her eyes turned red as her demons erupted from her shadow under her to flow around and add to her force, shoving the thing off of her in a blast. She aimed right, and the thing went spinning back towards the one with the gun on her partners head. A corner of her mind heard his words and she glanced around quickly at the others.
One being attacked by a zombie, another trying to take out the other zombies, and the one with the gun now knocked by the metallic thing; everybody distracted, very good. No gauntlets? Nah, good odds to her, she thought quickly. Having not used much of her power she still had a large store left, and a grim smile curled her lips as she stood and brushed off her pants before putting her hands on her hips, still holding her guns in her hands. "You have got to be kidding me, leave?? O no no no no... I've just started playing dear. They don't fight fair, so why should we?"
While they were fighting there were still students running around in a panic trying to get away, apparantly the dear hunters had forgotton this.
Two panicked students ran into the alley and stopped standing around her, staring at the shadow demon and the metallic demon and others with horror. She cocked her guns and pressed the barrels into the back of thier heads, hearing them whimper. Very calmly she looked at the hunters now, seeming bored of a sudden. Two of her demons wrapped around the teenagers legs so they wouldn't move, the one she had called before came to hover behind her to watch her back.
"I believe you know the drill boys. Let my partner up, we go, no harm to the little kiddies here. Make a move, and all the years of schooling these little darling have had gets wasted when thier brains are splattered across the walls of the alley. Think I am bluffing? I work for Legion," she said, though her voice was low it was cold as ice and unfeeling, "I have no need to bluff. My boss will applaud me for taking out some civilians. Will yours?"

Siber was surprised by the sudden turn of events to be sure. He saw the two idiot college kids in the alleyway, which in most cases would have been a problem, but here, was really not so bad. He nursed his bruised jaw for a moment, trying to decide how to keep the next blow from happening. Metallic b***h? he wondered briefly. Odd.
Sapphra very sanely bent her backwards momentum towards the shadow dæmons on the ground, severing their holds on the students and tossing them across the street to land safely on a fruit stand. Funny how those are always around. At the same time, Keldan hissed angrily into Takeshi's mind, It was such a reflexive anger that Siber knew he had been most of it. No one entered his mind.
Keldan, whose former life had been built around this kind of thing whereas Takeshi was trying to use it like a hammer, used what energy Siber had reserved for this particular spell to trace the empathic spell back to its source and cauterize that particular area, forcing Takeshi from Siber's mind with a crashing fury.
By now, he had hit rock bottom magic-wise and was beginning to recover. This was a definite plus to thaumaturgy: his two active spells were operating on caches independent from his reserve. It sucked that he couldn't evoke at all, but as long as he was prepared, that was okay. Sapphra, who occupied the majority because of her origin, was acting independently and that was good, even if she wouldn't be able to stay for too terribly much longer. The mind-stab would hold out at least for long enough to - - immobilize the zombies again, and as Siber got to his feet, he asked that Sapphra solidify so she could act as a shield while they advanced upon the cocky little girl. He rubbed the knife handle patiently, smiling despite his nervousness- as long as he didn't faint, he'd be fine.
"Joe, could you relieve this girl of her guns?"

Faking a physical reaction to the attack (and genuinely in pain from the direct abuse to his brain, Takeshi threw himself onto the ground.

"Down, ********!" he yelled. He pulled a small machine pistol from his jacket and sprayed in the general direction of Siber as he pulled a knife from his jacket. While Keldan and Siber may have him beat in experience with mental attacks, when it came to guns and knives, Takeshi was king. Pumping raw magic in a flood into the zombie, he cauterized a glyph into its chest and had it hug Siber close. For all the failure at aiming that was the result of using a machine-pistol one-handed, an unmoving man-sized target at that range was still unmissable with its rate of fire, and Siber certainly coudn't take a bullet any better than Takeshi could.

And take a bullet is exactly what Siber did. It was a shocking reminder of one's own mortality, the feeling of that bullet entering his right lung.

He spun the knife and flourished it in Paul's face before opening fire twice into his stomach and turning to deal with Siber, who had angered him.

Aiming with two hands to steady his shots, he repeated, "Down, ******** never saw Alan coming. He was knee deep in a shadow before he could even register he was falling, and Alan's subsequent kick to the head wasn't helping the developing headache from Keldan's counterattack. When Josh turned the corner, he began to panic.

Haru commented as Alan pinned him, ignoring a spray of bullets through his torso.

She didn't know how the hell the demon had turned her momentum from backwards to forwards without transfering some of it to another object, but she supposed demons also weren't exactly held to the same laws of science as everyone else.
She heaved a sigh and lowered her guns staring at Joe, the traitor. She saw her partner being pulled into a shadow and attacked, but she couldn't let that happen. This was her first, very first, mission from Legion. Find his agent, assist him as needed. She would not fail.

Just then she saw something glinting in the sun brightly, and glanced at that direction, as someone advanced around the corner of the building wearing some seriously huge gauntlets. She paused then, remembering takeshi's words about if she saw gauntlets guy, run like she raped his mother. But she couldn't leave her partner. Torn with indecision she turned on her heel and sprinted down towards the end of the alley. In her mind she calculated a quick plan with Damien's help. At the mouth of the alley she stopped and turned to face them all.
As she did, she pulled a black disk out of her back pocket. She had made it earlier to transport herself to the station so she wouldn't have to walk but had never used it. She touched the glyph briefly, and the power inside surged up since she didn't have to use her current power to use it. Then she called her shadows, and pulled the compass Legion had given her out of her pocket and set it on the disk. The point spun crazily before pointing right at Takeshi. Chaos followed the line of magic with a tendril of thought until it connected with him. Knowing the others here couldn't block Legions power, she pulled some of the magic he had used to activate the disk before the traitor could reach her. Takeshi's form dissolved into shadow as the disk did the same with the compass, and she knew they would materialize at the edge of the station.

Then she laughed, a low sound without a hint of warmth, because now she was truly outnumbered. But she wasn't going down without a fight. She unholstered her guns and pointed them at Joe.
"Let's go Traitor!"

[[Apparently I missed that little reply or I would have posted sooner, I was waiting on something to happen but it already did, sorry.. ^^;; ]]

Aurelie stood slowly, eyes narrowed as she stared at the hunter.
"I don't think so." She whipped her had up pointing it at him as she clutched a pearl in her hand activating one. The fire roared out towards him in an impossibly wide blast, so much that she was pushed back a few steps. She didn't think it would put out that much power in one blow.
Quickly she tapped her glyphe in her glove and pulled an earthen wall up to block his way to the rest of the station, which crumbled the walls behind her and the roof, leaving a deep yawning chasm behind it. She put her back to it, to make him think it was for defense.
"I am not going anywhere."

((I really need to get on more. sweatdrop Sorry.))

Paul had pushed the offensive to Takeshi, hoping to take at least one out of the equation, and now he had paid for it. He was bleeding somewhat badly, and in pain, but his mind cleared surprisingly quickly. Shaking himself, he let a quick instinct take over.

What?

"I'm HURT!" he shouted, followed by a loud bout of swearing as he pulled himself to his feet. Slightly paled, he started marching purposefully towards Chaos, both weapons blazing indiscriminately, albeit with careful aim. To add to the wounded march, he was still letting off a series of continually worse expletives, and was showing no sign of slowing. His step was a little faltering, but he didn't stop at all.

Eyes wide. "Oh."
He looked down at the blood. "Ow."

He closed his eyes as calmly as possible. Paul and Sapphra were bearing down on the girl, who had lost precious time readying her teleportation spell.
He opened them.

There was blood in his lung. If he breathed too quickly, it would move to his throat. The gag reflex would kick in; he would choke; the condition would worsen and kill him.
He smiled.

He pulled in one long, slow breath, and could feel the sickening gurgle as his life bubbled in his throat. He swallowed it. Takeshi was disappearing.
No.
Sapphra.
Young Master Siber. Are you injured? Shall I abandon the girl?
At this point, chaos was struggling in a death grip.

He swallowed. All he needed was to slow Takeshi, not stop him. But there was no way. Sapphra could not reach him in time. Josh could not reach him in time. Alan had apparently been foiled. Paul had two bullet wounds. Siber was in a bear hug; he couldn't reach his knife.
Knock her out. If it please you, free me. I think that is as much time as you have.
Sapphra dutifully beat chaos against a wall and tossed her to Paul's feet. Keldan used the last of the energy for the mind-stab to strike Takeshi once more and gain the location of the zombie's weak point before the necromancer vanished, whether to safety or Crossover, he didn't know. The dæmon then loped over and, with considerate care, disengaged the zombie and ripped the indicated target off, then threw its misguided body to the ground and faded with a silly curtsy.
Gurgle
"Josh, I don't think I've ever been so happy to see you."

"Okay, Siber, listen, this is going to feel very weird, but until we can bring medical personnel on-site, I'm going to put my shield into your own throat so you can breathe, okay?" Josh informed Siber. He gestured, and abruptly Siber's lungs felt ready to explode as the Aegis spell opened his lungs. "s**t!" he suddenly yelled. The spell didn't falter, but the also-profusely-bleeding Paul was about to pass out. "Alan! Medics, now! NOW!! Don't follow Takeshi, Alex and Kayla are intercepting anywhere in this world that he could be. "********! Alan, medics! Ignore her too!" Paul had collapsed atop Chaos and Chaos had abruptly been yanked into her own shadow. "DAMN it! Takeshi must've informed Legion." Alan rapped his knuckle against a Dumpster and with a grunt, tipped it over. Within was rather clearly a gate to crossover, which several men in red with various equipment stepped out of as Alan held up the lid. Two black-clad men with H&K MP5/10 submachine guns also stepped through, standing in the mouth of the alley.

~~

"That's it? How many days did rigging that spell up take you? Three, four?" Alex taunted. "I'm a Panzermagus. Which means I'm using a Blitzkrieg." Alex curled his knees and threw himself at the wall, blowing a chunk away as he landed softly on the other side. He smiled and began glowing. "Harm the Panzermagus, get a sweet ********' prize. Bring it on."

((Note: A Panzermagus is a very specialized mage focused on defensive kinetics, counterspells, and a spell known as Blitzkrieg which allows them to become, at an enormous drain, an unstoppable force for a few seconds. A skilled one such as Alex has to fight mundanely and can't use projectiles, but is nigh-invincible.))

Chaos was drifting back from unconciousness, though she didn't want to. She felt as though her head had caved in on one side, and that someone had beaten the crap out of her with a brick. Then her lips twitched as she remembered it had been two very large brick walls, not just a brick. Suddenly she remembered banging her head and passing out as she was flung towards the hunters. She almost bolted straight up, but felt around with her senses first, though her head splintered with pain at the attempt and she couldn't move. It was cool and dark though, and she was instantly calmed by the fact she realized she was in shadow.
, she blearally asked Damien, whom she sensed instant relief from at her contact.
Damien continued to ramble on though she stopped listening. She lay still as she floated through the shadows, wondering where she was being teleported. In shadow was the safest place to her, so she took a mental inventory of her body. She would be able to move, she was sure, once she was out of shadow, though it would hurt like hell. Her guns were still there, and clothing pretty intact. Some blood, scraped, serious bruises, a large couple of knots on her head; and she thought she may have a bullet wound that had passed through her side but not too deep. She sighed and smiled. At least she had completed mission objective one. Now she just wondered why she was suspended in shadow, and if it was because something bad was happening on the other side and she couldn't be pulled through yet. With that concern foremost in her mind she faded off again into blackness.

She thought about saying she didn't at all, but kept it to herself. She couldn't let him destroy the building, or let him get further. It would complicate, but not ruin, Legions plans. Instead she turned on her heel, looked at the other warlock and shook her head. "He's found us, lets go. Hiding here was a stupid idea!" She turned and looked at the hunter and with a mock salute brought down the front wall with a shake to the foundation. She stepped out, seeing people all around in a panic. The chaos from the school had apparently caused panic here as well.
Aiming at a group of people she reached out her hand with a pearl aimed at the center and briely tugged the power to let loose a wide torrent of fire across the street into thier midst. Two down, six to go, she thought with a tightening of her jaw. Aurelie didn't know how in hell she was going to pull this one off, and it seemed the other warlock had zoned off somewhere in his own mind. She just hoped he was doing something useful in there.
As the fire winged it way toward its targets she turned back to look at the hunter. Aurelie held both hands up in mock surrender with a sly expression. "Oopsie."

((damn it, you guys always leaveme behind for the good parts! gonk oh, how i wish i had internet...))

Joe walked back up the alley, taking in all the events of the past few minutes with militaristic calm.

Joe jogged quickly over, arriving before the medics were through emerging from their portal. He knelt down and laid his hands over the bullet holes in Paul's shirt, feeling blood bubble up from under his hands.
Roland, I'm not squeamish or anything, but if we could do this quickly, I'd feel a lot better.
Roland grunted a reply, then Joe felt a new type of energy coursing down his arms.

They popped out of the wounds, clattering to the alley floor.

Again, the new energy flowed out of Joe, and before his very astonished eyes the wounds began to knit themselves together. Roland sighed, and Joe stood up.

Joe shook his head. I don't wanna risk messing with that spell that's keeping him alive. But I dunno, he said he was running low on energy. Maybe if we could give him some, he could pull through this...
Joe could practically feel Roland grin.
Joe thought for a moment, gathering his energy, then raised his hand and pointed his index finger at Siber, with his thumb up, in a child's imitation of a gun. He pulled the "trigger", and the energy flew down the alley to Siber.

((I know the feeling. I just never get the time I think I will. *sigh*))

((Oh, and by the way, Venom, if Paul was on top of Chaos and she disappeared, doesn't that mean that Paul went with her? Just checking if this is indeed the incident I think it is.))

((No, actually. She fell out from under you. but you're still there.))
PostPosted: Wed Jan 16, 2008 7:28 pm

((Okay.))

Paul groaned in pain and frustration, letting off one last held out "faaaaaaaa@!" before stopping to breath. It appeared that he had failed to kill the girl, but at least he was alive and Joe had ensured he would not be dead. He was clinging onto a thread of conciousness, thin enough that he didn't bother considering getting to his feet, but strong enough to keep him aware indefinitely, and maybe even speak if need came.

Yeah, I suppose. The opposition is gone.

I should go home and get the 1911. More powerful.

Yeah. Do I have to replenish it?

After Joe sent the energy down the alley at Siber, he turned to look back at Paul, who was still lying on the ground. He walked over and hunkered down near his head.
"Glad to see my spell worked. You want a hand up, or should I just let you lie for a while?"
