Miriam The Bat
Edit: Can someone tell me how to properly write my full name (Miriam Binda, e.g. mirror-ee-am bin-dah) in Japanese katakana? I'm updating my e-mail signature and want to write my name in the multiple languages I'm interested in, including Japanese, Latin, Hawaiian, and Inuktitut.

*does it in Korean just for fun*

미리암 빈다
Mee-ree-ahm Bean-dah

I wrote bean as "bean" 'cause it's easier to understand pronunciation when compared with English. I could have written "been" (long e sound, remember) but that might have been accidentally thought of as "bin" which is the traditional way for Americans to say the word "been" and there's no way to really articulate the sound of "bin" in Korean. Closest you can get is "bean."

Edit: Yes, I know you didn't ask for Korean... but I figured I'd do it for fun and novelty. xd

I actually WAS thinking of doing it in Korean, but didn't think that anyone here knows it.

Also, I don't know any Korean words... not even random learned-from-a-cartoon ones.

I'm learning Korean, but I'm still just in the beginner stages, since I'm all self-taught so far.

I know some basic stuff like "안녕하세요" (Ahn-nyaw-hah-sae-oh, roughly pronounced), which is a general greeting, meaning "How are you?" "Hello." "How do you do?" etc.

In my textbook it says:

Quote:
Note: In Korean, 안녕하세요?, litterally meaning 'Are you in peace?' is used as a greeting at any time of the day, for example, 'Good morning', 'Good afternoon', or 'Good evening'. It can also be used for 'How are you?' or 'Nice to meet you.'

So, how do you say "Mesos plx" in Korean? >_>
PostPosted: Thu Nov 29, 2007 2:59 pm

Well kMS uses "메소" (mae-soh) for meso, however after a good bit of time Googling I can't seem to find a suitable translation for "plz." I could get you the translation of "please" but I can't seem to find any slang dictionaries. xd

It's at the tip top of Rhode Island in the center. You're little more than a hop and a skip away, let alone the jump. rofl
