Tears subsided, Mike's gloomy facade was replaced by that of joy when he saw Kasiya sitting next to him. He gave her a hug, as did Shiver (to the best of his ability) and let out a smile.
"Hi Kasiya! How've you been?" He asked, like he was never even crying.

((Mitsu, since last you updated, Nitro has been in 5 posts, and gets another two because he was the first Pokemon to be sent out into the fight, and he didn't faint. Shiver was in 4 posts.

"I'm alright," Kasiya said returning his smile. "What happened? Why are you so upset?" she asked, reaching over to wipe a tear off his cheek, but still continued to smile. "You know, it doesn't make you any less of a person to cry when you're upset."

A look of surprise came over his face, for he almost forgot he was crying. "Oh, I'm not afraid to cry, I'm just so happy to see you!" He said, thrilled to be with his friend.
"Nitro was beaten up pretty bad by a Geodude, but he will be ok. It's really hard to watch your best friend get hurt right in front of your eyes you know?" He said, his smile nearly fading, but then returning instantly. " You should have seen Shiver! He tore that Geodude apart! It was great!"
Shiver, hearing his voice and analyzing the tone, jumped up and down happily at the mention of his name.

"Really? Shiver, you must have been awesome! I wish I could have been there to see it," she said, bending down and kissing him on his shell. "I do know what its like to see one of your best friends get beat up pretty bad," Kasiya said, looking at the floor. She took Pikachu's Pokeball off her belt and held it up for Mike to see. "I think she's suffered burns from a Growlithe's Ember. " She clicked it open, and Pikachu materialized on her lap, curled into a ball. Its flesh was blackened, and bits of her fur were burned away. Pikachu whimpered, and looked up at Kasiya, then turned to Mike, smiling weakly. "I'd better get this brave girl healed," she said, letting a tear of her own fall.

Kilik sat on the train, all by himself. Nobody really seemed to bother him. He released his Eevee so it could sit in his lap. "Look out the window, Eevee!" he laughed, pointing outside. A herd of Tauros were running past. The Eevee squealed in delight. "Someday, you'll be as strong as a Tauros." He laughed. Though he had never seen a Tauros in real life, he had read about them in books. The Eevee made a little sound of content. Soon, the train passed the bull-like Pokemon.

Mike let out a smile as he pet the brave electric Pokemon. At that moment, it hit him like a ton of Graveler:
"You caught a Growlithe?!" Mike asked, almost grabbing Kasiya's shoulders, an expression of utter awe on his face.

"Yeah," she said, standing up, Pikachu cradled in her arms. "He's pretty beat up too, Pikachu saw to that." She chuckled, and walked over to the desk, admiting two of her three Pokemon. She returned momentairly, releasing Vaporeon from her Pokeball as she did. The elegant water Pokemon swished her fin-like tail around, jumping up on the couch to sit next to Kasiya. She put her head on her trainer's lap, making a sound that resembled purring. "At least Nitro has a ward buddy now," she said, forcing a laugh.

"Yeah, that will make him alot more comfertable."
Wiping the tears from his eyes, he signaled Shiver to come over to him.
Shiver happily agreed, hopping over onto his trainer with a happy smile. He nestled himself in Mike's shirt and withdrew into his shell, drawing his touge in as well.

Kevin stood around in Pallet Town thinking of what his next move should be. After a bit of thought, he decided on heading out to Route 1.
"Come on Squirtle, time to go" he said and headed for the edge of town, Squirtle following close behind.

Nina, still in the Pokemon Center in Lavender Town, let out a sigh. "It looks like I'm the one that got abandoned this time," she said to Misdreavus, petting Marill.
"Don't say that, Nina," Misdreavus replied, "I'm sure that your friends... got distracted and... and..."
"And completely forgot about me." Nina finished Misdreavus' sentence. Her expression became very gloomy and she laid her head down.
"This is why I'm afraid of people..." Her voice drifted off.

"It's been a long day," she sighed, leaning back on the couch and looking up. As she did, a silver pendant poked out over the top of her shirt, viewable for the first time to anyone but her. It was fashioned in the shape of a lightning bolt, and looked like it had been around for quite some time.
