Skye beamed.
"Lore good teacher, too," she replied happily, removing her hand from his throat and signing back at the same time. "Lore teach Skye read and write and speak gooder. Lore good teacher."
She giggled and crawled out of his lap, twirling on the spot. "Come, Lore!" she said brightly. "We go play!" And she reached out her hand to him again, to get him to follow her down the mountain once more.

Lore got to his feet, with a bit of effort as he took her hand, going back down the mountain. She seemed much happier being down there playing.

Skye turned to walk backwards in front of Lore so that she could talk to him, and her expression was thoughtful, curious.
"Lore," she said softly, looking up at him, "Storm and Skye and Idhril call Lore Papa ... what means Papa?"
She put her hands behind her back as she walked, careful not to trip and fall.

"Ah...." Lore looked thoughtful.
How was he going to explain something like that? A father, or papa was the person who was their parent, which meant nothing since he was not biologically their father, and was not married to Elnara.
"Papa, is a," he looked at her signing, "Male form of a Mommy, they do just about the same things. They love you and look after you."

Skye nodded slowly, watching Lore's hands, and when he stopped signing she looked up at him.
"Lore ... Skye's papa?" she asked hesitantly, signing as well. "Lore take care of Skye, Lore love Skye too?"

Lore smiled, the more they asked, the more they claimed, the more he could not deny such a thing in his life. It would not be right, not just in terms of the children, but deep inside him as well.
He continued to sign in reply, "I will continue to take care of you and I won't stop loving you. If you are okay with that, then yes. I am."

Skye broke into a wide smile. She was happy with that. But she had just one more pressing question, now that that one had been answered.
"Then ... can Skye say Papa, not Lore?" she asked, her tone hopeful.

"Of course you can," Lore murmured with a large smile.
It made his heart bloom, even though he couldn't really understand why quite yet. For someone who didn't even think he was going to have a family, things were turning around for him pretty quick, but he couldn't complain.

Skye's eyes lit up, and she threw her arms around Lore's waist and hugged him tightly.
"Come, Papa!" she said excitedly, taking his hand once again. "Let's go play with Celebor, Serenity!"

Lore chuckled at that, "I'm coming," he told her gently as he followed her the rest of the way.
He wondered what the others would make of it.

Celebor and Serenity were outside in front of the houses with Ulani, and all three of them were playing together, tossing a frisbee-like object to each other. It was a circular disc about twelve inches in diameter, extremely thin, perfectly smooth and slightly convex. Skye watched the three of them for a moment, figuring out what they were doing, then looked up at Lore and grinned. "We play too?" she asked him. "Lore know how play? Papa, Papa know how play?"

"I've seen the game... I think..." Lore murmured.
He didn't know if it was the same idea though, it looked like it, and he was told it was simple enough. Though he wasn't so sure.

Celebor turned around at the sound of Lore's voice and grinned, beckoning for him and Skye to join them.
"Come play with us, Lore!" he called excitedly. "'Lani's teaching us how to throw a disc! Watch!"
He curled it into his arm, then flung it away from himself. The disc wobbled unsteadily through the air and hit the ground, rolling in a circle and falling to a stop about halfway between him and Lore.Skye giggled and clapped her hand. "Skye want learn throw too!" she exclaimed.

Lore chuckled at that as he nodded, closing the distance between him and the disc as he picked it up.
"Okay then," he replied back before looking down at Skye, "Do you want to try and toss it back like your brother did?"

Skye nodded eagerly and held her hand out for the disc. She did indeed want to be able to throw like Celebor - if not better. It was different from a ball, though, and she wondered how it would work. Celebor had thrown it very strangely, from what she could tell.
