I'm glad someone finally agrees with me on that for once and doesn't just 100% hate Jar-Jar all together.

There's a solid basis there, the makings of a good character. Unfortunately, in tPM, they went waaaaaaaaay too far with just one or two jokes to the point where they got annoying, and all of his post-tPM appearances have built on that, and gotten even more annoying. But I must say that the interpretation of Jar-Jar in Darths and Droids is bloody fantastic.

I thought luke was a great star wars character. He was incredibly naive, unfortunately.

Isn't that the point? He stared out as a moisture farmer and in four years became a jedi knight without much proper training. You're expected to have a few screw ups along the way. (You are talking about Luke. Right?)

Yeah, Luke's Naivetae is what draws me to the original trilogy. If every character was as knowledgable about the world as Han or Ben, then there would be no discovery in the movies, and because of that, no fun.

I kinda hate him, but that's the general point. Guy does his job of uber jackass well.
Nihilius is still scarier to me. But, we're off topic for the lightsaber lucas thread.

I would Lightsaber Lucas for stifling the creative talent of Troy Dennings, Aaron Allston, and ESPECIALLY Karen Traviss. Just because they are making excellent books that YOU didn't think of, Darth Fatass, doesn't mean you have to try to make them seem less significant than you.
