i know for a fact that the school district your child has to make accomdations for you and the child with special needs.....ie, example, if i wanted my child to go to a private school, the school district would have to foot the bill, and they would have to pay for transportation as well. if you are having problems with the school getting to accomadate you or someone you know, let me know, pm me, and i'll ask some people i know what you can do to get what you want done.....ok?

Thanks Ange! it's been difficult, but things are going okay for the moment. My 11y.o. son now has an out-of-district placement. He is attending a therapeutic day school. My 9y.o. daughter is still at the public school and has ongoing difficulty with emotional regulation. She rides a van to school since she has difficulty getting overwhelmed on the regular bus. We have some accommodations in place for her as well. She can get really anxious and cry and become really loud - which can be difficult in the regular classroom.
My 6y.o. is actually doing quite well, although he likes to be a bit of a clown at school at times. xd
I'm actually prepping to take an advocacy course that will start in a couple of months. 3nodding We've had a lot of difficulty with our school district and getting services in place. Over the past couple of months, a bunch of parents have joined together to start a Parent Advisory Council - which is something that each public school is supposed to have - to allow parents of children with disabilities the opportunity to collaborate and have an advisory voice when working with the school.

I appreciate any advice you might have, though.

And it's great to hear from you, BTW! 4laugh

Hi Monkey,
eek Does he have chronic reflux? Robert had chronic reflux that lasted until about 9 mos. Yuck.
I thought you might find this helpful: Differential Diagnosis and Treatment of Hearing Loss- American Family Physician
... and I found some info on getting a tracheostomy Tracheostomy Page

I'm doing well. My hubby and the kids just dealt with that miserable stomach bug over the past couple of weeks, but we're all on the mend. It's nice hearing from you again! I do a horrible job of keeping up.
My mom had an iron deficiency with a very low red blood cell count and they were trying to figure out why for a long time. It became so bad that she had to have blood transfusions - but they couldn't figure out why she wasn't producing enough red blood cells. They also didn't think it was leukemia.
Do they think he had a bacterial infection or something causing the reduction in white blood cells?

Theyre prettty sure that his reflux is so bad because just like my 4yo the muscle at the top of his stomach doesntcompletlyclose so everything just come up. It runs in my family. There is corrective surgery for it. We optedout of it for my 4 yo because he is more of a gagger than a puker butwe are gonna do it for the baby because the poor thing cant move with out puking. He is learning to sit up and crawl-kinda lol but anypressure on his bellyor using his stomach muscles and his whole bottle comesback up confused thanks for the links but i laready know what they are doing sadlywe have gone through this with the 4 yo gonk Im sooo tired. Because of the tummy problems he only eats2-3 oz every 2-3 hours gonk even though he is just about 6 mnths old. I tried to give him more a few times and the ENTIRE feeding and then some came back at me eek i guess ill listen to the doc lol sweatdrop Im glad you kiddos are doing well. I haveto go battle the school on friday for my 4 yo. Why do they fight so hard to give them their services ?!?

they aren't exactly sure what's causing it, they think it could be just his 'norm" for him to have a lower blood count. they don't think it's luk. either, and i am very relieved for that, but the next step in know what it would be is to do a test where they scrape his bone, the ped. hemotologist doesn't want to do that on him because he's too young, hence why they have to test him everything month to monitor, or if it really goes down, every two weeks........ crying
