Ruuvan
Faced with a hundred foot drop down into the arms of his opponent, there was little he could do but down the Android again and stop himself impacting the ground. Reaching back and grabbing three arrows from his quiver, notching them like he had practiced many times before, Ruu drew the string back and let the three projectiles hurtle towards the crater.

::M4X may not have been the most experienced tool in the shed, but he was definately one of the smartest. 10 minutes ago, he would not have been able to tell you what or how an arrow functions, but after that mass exposure he was given something of a crash course in archery and projectile attacks.

Really, all the super technology in the world was not necessary to them him that those three wooden sticks, were bad.

The first struck, and even as the light formed the android held out its hand, a tiny black dot in its center compressing and devouring the light, before forging it into his own light ball.

The second, was quite literally snatched out of the air just before a few feet before impacting the ground, leaving the third to be victim to M4X's lightball, the ball being fired on the same plotted trajectory of the arrow, basically burning it to a crisp in the same manner a laser might.

Ruuvan was falling, twice as fast as a normal fall would carry him. And he was close. Creating a Graviton Well around him, M4X would slingshot himself upwards, pulling gravity down and then quickly releasing it in order to launch himself upwards like a projectile. His processor plotting his flight course as an intercept of Ruuvans.

His goal was simple, fly straight up at the very very rapidly falling elf, and ram his fist, through his chest! Unfortuantely he wasnt trained in kung fu, he only knew the simplest plans. And they were usually best.::

Well that ruined all plans of escape, stupid M4X with his powers and ability to learn too quick, but why worry about something when one can just adapt?

Using the light energy he had stored from earlier, yet not bothered to use since his arrows did their job the first time, Ruuvan brought his legs up and aimed the palm of his hand down towards the quickly approaching Android. A bright flash served to make the first part of the spell, simply there to disorientate one's opponent with twice the flashbang intensity condensed in directed flash towards their eyes, in an attempt to mask the shield formation that would happen next. Second came a light oval, similar to the one he had used earlier to form a shield against the gravity ball, but this one formed below him and several light spikes protruded from the bottom. Of course the impact of someone crashing into the bottom would send him flying into the air, only to come down hard again, but anyone who did crash into the platform of protective spiky doom would be in a worse shape.

:: Ruuvan did a bad thing. A very bad thing.

The androids fist was just speedy enough to reach through Ruuvans ball before it collapsed, trapping his arm and letting his chest and torso be the victim of the pin cushion.

Ruuvan severed 4 very critical connections.

First, was the power supply the core, as previously mentioned that would have begun the emergency shut down sequence. The first thing to be shut down would be the quantum singularity (aka Black Hole), in his chest which fueled his gravitational powers.

Unfortunately that was the second thing Ruuvan cut, the emergency kill switch.

Third, the robot would have had used its secondary fail safe to launch itself into the atmosphere, but Ruuvan had disabled the graviton flow with a third cut.

And lastly, it had severed the machines motor controls, meaning it could simply NOT move from this position.

This meant that Ruuvan had won. But in winning, Ruuvan had last.

He was now, a few inches from a miniature black hole. Quite literally space and time were warping around the machines chest. Within a second, almost all of the android had been crunched into its own chest leaving a heaping scrap of metal. Ruuvans shield was the very next thing to fall victim to the inescapable void. The only thing left, was Ruuvan himself.

One elf, countless tons of pressure trying to squish him into the smallest of holes. The real question was wether or not he would even be able to feel pain before it went black.::
PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 1:16 pm

How was Ruuvan meant to know the inner workings of such a machine? Furthermore, how was he meant to know that putting up a defensive barrier to stop him being punched into space would cause such problems? None of that mattered as the Android suffered several major system faults and was crushed down by his own gravitational happenings, even a shield made from hardened light disappeared into it showing this thing meant business.

Of course Ruuvan couldn't do anything about it, it was a black hole that destroyed everything around him and that included the Elf which was not two foot away. Pain didn't matter, only the disbelief that saving himself by defeating an opponent didn't mean he won; this was a lose-lose situation from the offset it seemed, thus he resided himself to the fate and closed his eyes, images flashing of the group back in Aria saving the day and the time he made the promise to Maximos never to give up finding him; so much for that...

::In the white abyss, walked the single traveler. The only man, man enough to brave the coming night with nothing but his body and a frail coat. There was barely any warm to begin with, but the true definition of cold came when the sun fell. What little warmth it gave was stripped away, and the white turned to black.

Vahn had to be almost at the Kyonuske base. The silohette of the structure was in view, its outline cast by the setting sun. But something was off.

Directly in front of the base, sat a man. The man wore a black hood, and sat in front of a very warm campire. Odd because there was no wood, odder still because it had to gaurd against the wind. But it was extremely warm!

He looked him, his face shrouded in the black hood, and waved for Vahn to come over to the fire.::

Truth be told it had been several years, nearly a decade's worth since he had been here... He didn't know what to expect.

During his more than wayward 'youth', which was spent in endless wanderings across all of Gaia, he had been found and adopted by a man named Kyonuske Kawatori. It was there that he had earned the named 'Kasuga', which he would then use afterwards to conceal his true identity and make a name for himself at the Stadium.

Even so, he did have a rough memory of the lay of the land, and definitely remembered the training that took place in this white abyss.

But it still never fully prepared you for the kind of cold that reached down to your bones and chilled your very soul.

Not even able to folow a compass (which would have been fruitless due to the large deposit of magnetic lodestones in the region, making use of a compass all but useless), he was surprised when he found himself approaching one of the many bases the clan had on the tundra.

Even more so because he was approaching it with ease.

No guards...?

The closer he got, the more so he began to make out what appeared to be a fire.... and a person warming himself near said fire. "...." He was even more amused when the figure began waving him on over, as if this were a street corner and people were tyring to warm themselves over a burning trash can.

What else could he do?

He approached, wondering if this was some sort of test to gain entry.

::The crunch was sickening, the sound of blood spurting as its ripped, torn and sent falling to the ground. All that was left, as the field finally died due to graviton depletion, was a ball of metal and meat. And it landed with a wet splat.

Within a few seconds, the area had gone silent, and snow had burried the disgusting mess.

All was said and done. Ruuvan had fought very hard, and it was honorable, but the fight was over for him. He would likely be reserved a place in Heaven on that S Class floor where he could live out the rest of his days of his afterlife. From this day forward Ruuvan would be able to put the darkness behind him, and live on in beautiful glowing light.

Like the glowing the light that was pouring out of the snow currently. Honestly, it was like a blinding fountain of light, couldnt it see that people were trying to mourn here?

And what was this? A silohette of a figure rising up from the pure white snow. It had no details, it was really just a rugged humanoid outline, wearing a glowing gold necklace. Its long hair, was long and flowing blowing upwards as if the light was tangible.

Very gradually details camed into view, fingers, toes, musculature, clothing...until very gently the figure was turned so as to be floating on its back, and then set very lightly down on the ground.

Ruuvan, was back. He was decked in head to toe, in the garb he saw himself adorned with in Heaven. His decker blades, in sheathes at his sides, and his bow directly drapped over his shoulder. His hair was long and green, like a forest, slightly different shades of green intermingled with each other. A mirror would reveal that he was not owner of ONE elemengal eye, but two. And why not? The figure lying in the snow, was afterall a full blooded Elemengal Elf. Every scar on his body healed, every blemish removed. It was as if someone reloaded a save point from a few thousand years back.

Except upon his chest, just over his leathergarb, on a beautiful shining golden chain, was an amulet. The amulet. Something about it screamed that Ruuvan should remember it, but the memory was lost in a bit of fog. The light just hadnt reached it...yet.::

Ruuvan

PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 2:12 pm

Despite the sickening sound effects and general image of Ruuvan being crushed into a ball of meat, it happened to quick for him to register the pain and it was over not even a second after it began. When did a dead soul get to Heaven's gates and go through the process? How long after the death took place did his soul have to linger in darkness before seeing the light? Obviously not long.

The light came gradually to his vision, what little mental abilities he had left thinking that it was over and he would soon find himself at Heaven's gates and enter the city he had been in before, but this was not what came into view. Heaven looked surprisingly similar to the outside of the tower where the fight had just taken place, in fact it looked to be exactly the same and even felt cold, but Heaven didn't have anything? Hell, he couldn’t remember breathing in Heaven and yet here he was taking in full breaths.
"What?" His voice barely above a whisper as he started to pat himself up and down, feeling a suit of Elven armour, his swords and the bow on his back and he was now seeing out of two Elemngal eyes exactly as it was meant to be, like when he was in Heaven... so how come it didn't feel like he was there? Simple, it was because he wasn't.

Holding back the urge to scream out that he was alive, Ruu took a moment to take in the feat that had just occurred; an Android with gravity powers had attacked him, the battle had paused briefly, a black hole formed and then he died... so how come he was standing here now? Looking down at the necklace he wore, which looked as it did the day he received it, he saw the amulet and lifted it up for a closer inspection. Something in his head knew what it was, only he couldn't quite bring it to the frontal part and actually remember... it was something deep in his brain he just couldn't reach.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 2:53 pm

::It was...

"Maximos now!"

His memory was flung back to the sound of his own voice screaming. Slowy the visual came into view, Ruuvan would see his sword sticking into the gut of a man dressed in a black robe, with a black cape. The mans eyes were black as night, his face and hair ragged with age. He looked insane with rage, but Ruuvans blade wasnt alone. Angeltears and Laguna, had sunk there swords into his flesh. And a bindng cross placed on his cursed forehead kept his feet stuck to the ground.

Who was this man that the group had assualted!? It took a second but the answer came, The Dark Lord.

This was the moment, the crux. The finale to the battle that was there lives for the past few years.

Maximos, a human Maximos stood a few feet back with a glowing crystal in hand. The crystal had perged the Shadow curse from him, but only so long as he held it, and did not use it. This was the one device that could bring peace to his people, and yet it could also turn the Dark Lord, human, and bring back Angeltears father, as he should have been.

Maximos had a choice to make, and he was delaying. The Hero of Aria delayed, as he had to choose between freedom, or justice...

Finally, he chose...

Sprinting past the undead elf, the nature elemental, and the priest he smacked the gem right into the center of the dark beings chest. There was a shattering glow that blinded the each of them before, everything returned and there stood a man. He was dressed in a flowing white robe, capeless, his hair stark white, his eyes deep blue. He was pure, he was returned...

The crystal in Maximos's hand went cold, as the look on the shadow warriors face went to broken.

The man smiled, as he consoled Maximos.

"Its alright child."

He said.

"In another four thousand years, the cure will return. And it will work its miracle again."

He grasped it gently, cupping it in his hands before it was caught up in a golden glow. And as his hands parted, he held a beautiful amulet on a golden chain...Ruuvan would recognize this chain, this amulet. As he was holding it in his hand. Today, exactly 4 thousand years in the future. The recharged gem, had just saved his life, rebirthing him much as it cast the Dark Lord Entity off of the Lord himself.

Ruuvan was then assualted with the rest of the memory, the sound of the black creature ripping a hole in space and time and sucking the all of the group through it. The sight of the amulet slipping from Maximos's hands and his nimble arms reaching out and snatching it up. And from then...the blackness, before he landed on Gaia. Naked.

Before the memory could continue, another brilliant flash brought him back thousands of years farther. To the time of the Elemengal Elves, to the city he had been in, in that earlier memory. He was not affronted with a single memory but a lifetime worth. Names, places, as if he had been there, each and every one of those places just yesterday...they were fresh in his mind, burning...

Burning like...a bright florescent light? Wait, thats not right.

But it was, as Ruuvan's eyes opened he would see the Black Hospital door open, and he would be just in time to see D fly into the hands of some monsterous hulking beast. It stood on 6 legs, with 4 arms, and several eyes it was a beast if he ever saw one.

And from the look of it, the child was having the life squeezed out of him, just as the thing snatched him out of the air. It seemed he was sent into the air, by a girl, with stark red hair in a nurses outfit. Presumably the "Receptionist" from earlier.

The necklace around his neck, had grown bright, shining more brilliantly than ever before. And now, before he even had a chance to warm up his new body, it was time to fight again...A hero's work seems never done.::

Ruuvan

PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 3:10 pm

Ruuvan had took take a step back to brace himself as the mental barrage ripped through, reliving the moments before he was flung from Aria and into Gaia, picturing it as if it was happening right then and there; all his friends, the Dark Lord himself replaced with the Hero of Aria before time took a sharp turn South. This memory was instantly placed somewhere in his mind as more things took its place, his home, his wife, his friends... basically everything that had happened in his life before he forgot came flooding back, opening many doors and answer many questions that had raged in his head.

Opening his eyes he wondered if there was another memory coming, the bright light being there and providing a conduit for it. However, as it slowly came into focus and he was able to see whatever was emitting the light, he saw the tower doors opened and a small black object fly towards it. Another moment past and it all came into focus; D in the arms of a rather large beastie and a nurse standing beside it, all of this happening just when he thought things couldn't get worse...

Drawing the bow from his back in one fluid motion, since there was a distance to make up before melee contact, Ruuvan notched an arrow whilst running towards the door and let it fly at the beast's chest. Not a second after the first was released he had another drawn back, this one aimed at one of the beast's legs as he got closer to the whole thing. The first arrow would impact and cover most of the target area with a chilling frost, meant to shock and paralyse for a short spell, the second aimed at the leg would turn to spaghetti and wrap around it, constricting in a matter of seconds in order to break bones and provide general pain-in-the-a**-ness. With the distance getting small, he attached the bow onto his back again and drew both swords as he ran at the woman.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 3:19 pm

:: For some reason, things didnt go as planned.

Maybe it was some sort of inner tower protection. But the arrow zoomed forward, glowing blue and just as it breached the door of the tower, it returned to normal. The arrow shot the beast in one leg, the other legs immediately compensating for the loss. But then came the arrow to the chest, like a gunshot the arrow pierced clean through the beasts chest. It let out a sickly howl of pain, as it dropped D and bull charged at Ruuvan, just as he charged at the girl.

These were supposed to be none fatal arrows, but the magic effects were being turned off making them actually dangerous.

She looked a bit beyond pissed. With her firey red hair, she looked poised to seriously mess someones day up. Ruuvan's to be exact. In her hands was a rather large 4ft tall syringe, with a 1ft long needle point. It was filled with some sickly green liquid, and she bull charged Ruuvan attempting to ram it through his chest.::

::For Vahn, the figure remained silent. It gestured that Vahn step in, and then gestured toward a cut log, for him to sit down. From under the thick hood, there wasnt much visible, just a single golden chain, and he spoke in a very consoling voice.::

A man cannot know where he doth travel lest he know where from he hath come. This is true. But at times ones past carries a wieght that will only slow a man to a crawl, and halt his journey toward where he must be...

::That accent...it was different, and yet maybe familiar. It was an old mans voice, and his accent was almost british, only slightly off, slightly different. Perhaps it was just how carefully he pronounced every word.::

Master Vahn...there is nothing here for you. For anyone.

Ruuvan was surprised at the damage the arrows caused to say the least, since he had only ever seen them perform the magical effects that he wanted, but he would remember their lethality for a later situation which didn't require prettiful special effects and just needed stopping power. Anyway, at the moment he had to deal with a giant beast and a teenager with a huge needle.

Judging by the arrow situation, Ruu figured magic would be useless now he was in the tower and would have to rely on skills alone. Since he wanted some answers about certain things and he assumed only the Nurse could fathom speech and perhaps knew something, his first priority would be to down the beast and then focus on her. So, with both swords at the ready and his path changed to charge head-one with the best, Ruuvan calculated the distance and speed between them and leapt from the ground to give him some kind of platform to launch an assault on the beast.

Being an Elf and coming with all the awesomeness such a race had, Ruuvan's move would be 'simple' to his people whereas most would regard it as nigh impossible. He timed the jump so he could contact the front left leg as it planted on the ground, hopefully giving him a slight angle which he could run up and jump once he reached the knee or hip joint, depending on how much of an angle the leg had at the time. Either way, once airborne for a second time and now around chest height of the beast, Ruuvan stabbed with one of his swords in at the heart of the being. Only one sword was used if it all went wrong, that and he had four arms to worry about.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 9:00 pm

::The beasts two front longs were about the shape of a muscular gorilla's, while its back four legs were just about the size of a humans. The same could be said for its arms, the front two were giant, the size of a massive hairy beasts, while the back two were smaller human in size, and just as pink and naked. Its mouth, was a gaping maw, full of walrus tusk sized fangs. Needless to say, with all of its eyes, it saw Ruuvan, in ways he probably couldnt fathom.

Its legs were not very long at all, and so moving as close as he did, he found, that as he reached its hip. Two of its humanoid arms grabbed his left foot, while the massive gorilla arm, aimed to grab and smash Ruuvan into the ground behind him.

Its hand was massive, easily the size of Ruuvans entire torso.

What a freak.::

Well that didn't go according to plan, but Ruuvan knew it wasn't going to be that easy and had to adapt to this new situation.

As soon as the humanoid arms grabbed a hold of his foot, with the gorilla arm quickly coming towards him in an attempt to ******** up his day. In what could only be described as crouching, bringing his body towards his legs which were held in place, Ruu brought the sword intended for the heat back around in an attempt to severe the humanoid limbs from the beast's body allowing him to fall and avoid the gorilla arm.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 9:34 pm

::And with sickening success as the two arms were severed the creature let out a horrible roar and wretched its arms back in agony. Blood stained the once pure snow as it poured from either of the open wounds. Needless to say the arm flew past Ruuvan, as the creature lurched forward bracing itself soley on the shakey arm as the pain coursed through its body. With the leg, now vertical, Ruuvan really wouldnt have a place to stand, but the creature didnt seem able to attack right this moment. It was weakened.

Unfortunately, those moments tend to pass quickly::

Success! Oh noes, falling! Not that it mattered, what with being an elf and all, but he had felt the weightless thing way too much today and it was getting old. He placed one hand behind him to support his fall, quickly bringing himself back to a standing position. Of course he wouldn't get a lot of time to rest though, he still had the nurse and the giant syringe to deal with, but as long as he stayed in the air and danced around the beast he should've been fine.

Giving the best no time to rest, Ruuvan immediately ran towards the monster and jumped again, this time aiming to stab both blades into the side of its chest, going for the heart yet again. He was coming to its left, meaning the only arm that could stop it would be the big one... and he had a feeling it would.
