A grin of relief spread across his face as he hunkered down.
"Don't lie, Vahn! You aren't even close to dead," Sun scratched the side of his nose and looked towards the vials and the room they'd ignored for a moment.
"I wanna know why there aren't any remanents of any prior battles here...if he's been here before us..." This was half spoken to himself as he reached down to gently help Tellus up.
"You need a hand, pretty lady?"

"....."
Vahn stared up towards the second level, and began heading for the staircases to rejoin the group.
Sun's right... why is everything being thrown against us... shouldn't a path at least already be opened? Why does it feel...like we're...
Reacing the top of the stairs, Vahn shook himself out of thought, and stared towards Tellus.
"She alright...?"
His tone was generally concerned... but he wouldn't readily admit that. Making his way towards them, he leaned down, using his left hand to touch along Tellus' neck for a pulse.
Thankfully he found one, but it was pretty weak.
"...I'll carry her. Let's keep going."
He nodded his head in the direction of the red doors that led out of the second level. He gave a glance towards the cage and gears... not quite knowing what purpose they served.
They had no choice but to keep moving forward.

Tellus whimpered and simply curled up in Vahn's grasp. Her hair was almost pure white, with only a few streaks of black and blue now.

Sun took a deep breath and again followed the rest into the unknown, pausing only to stare, much like Vahn, at the set up within the room.
This place is a freeking maze...shaking his head, he reached into his pocket and pulled out one of the vials he'd taken from it's resting place, the colour swirling pretty when he shook it a little.
Who know's...maybe this'll be useless, but it's not nailed down...
He kicked one of the heads of the stone gargoyles and followed the rest out.

- Latent- post city battle-::Quote: Upon leaving the HoH tournament stadium, Kaym had made her way to the top as planned before. - She replaced her wraps and headed for the top, if she couldnt escape from the floors, she would simply exit from the broken window. .. it was but a small hole, compared to the two story glass that it held. The glass had probably broke during a battle? She didnt know, nor did she mind the polite gesture.- High jump, sure; but not for someone like her. Spelunking and roof top jumping would have to be one of her favorite past-times. : She reached the aperture and leaned out of it to get a better look at what had been going on: Seems interesting enough...:She then, seeing the perfect opportunity to jump and a place to land - Leapt from the window - -- Upon falling from the window, her arms were completely spread out and her right leg was bent at her knee, nearing her chest - giving her the ability to push herself further off the stadium wall behind her. -She did just that. Her arms still errect, and her posture completely straight, she thusted her bend leg back using it as a pivot. -Within seconds of porpelling, she lifted her head, sensing something immediately at her bow. Too late! By the time she saw the black clothed figure, he was already on her. Slamming her back into the stadium wall with such immense force her body was savagely embedded into the concret wall. Her arms were being held firmly above her head. His nails acted as a gouge, driving themselves into her wrist and forarm. His face being only inches away from her. His breathe was nauseating - the teeth that still remained in his mouth, other then the rotten holes, were black and yellow. Kaym had already spat up bio and blood upon wall impact. Her teeth were being clinched her fists were closed so tight, trying to enable her from not screaming. "Helloo oo, Kaym..." Kaym held her breath down. She still had ******** dignity, she wasnt going to give it up for this b*****d. "What a shitty greeting." She said as controlled as possible. But, her response was quickly met with more pain. His feet being strongly pushed against her stomach, pushed even harder. She coughed up more blood along with a little moan. She was wedged against the ******** building, while he floated with ease. "Don't ******** with me Kaym. Why didnt you do what you were told?" His angry spat shot siliva from his decaying mouth. His eyes were red with anger and ******** you and him. I am not ..going to follow ..your bullshit orders. I was never your ******** dog." "Thats not how we see it." His long claws flung from her arm directly to her face - slashing a long deep wound across her left cheek. His knees closed in on her chest as he licked the new red blood from her face. Within the time after, he hastely grabbed a large needle and drove it into her neck. "Get off me, you sick fuc..." Her words were cut off, her Yellow eyes became blurry, then dark - and her head feel forward .-Entering Barthavos Desert

::Kayms' Yellow eyes opened - Immediately, stunned and alarmed, her body hastely swung forward. She instinctivly noticed the difference in the climate change. It was warm, much warmer then it had been in latent. She then looked around, searching the new dark dungen environment. No light entered the room, It felt like a well - Old, humid and wet. Her arms were bound to the wall, held high over her head, - no chains to carry them, just a large steel plate encompassing her wrists. The wounds on her arms were already healed and her stomach didnt feel an ounce of pain. How long had she been down there?
Don't ******** thinking about it, just get the hell out of here. She looked above and below her, the wall was high and the floor was right under her feet. Covered in water. - This is gonna hurt. she closed her eyes, trying not to think about what she was about to do.
And with only a few seconds to think of her situation, she immedately began swinging her legs back and forth, holding them tight together. She swung - High - and then higher- Until she flipped her entire body over, Dislocating both of her shoulders and wrists in the process, then, landing her feet directly above and on the steel plate, which was above her hands. Her wrists were twisted about, her wrist bone pulled her pale skin tight. After this, she pushed her feet more on the wall, lifting her arms up. The sharp nerve pain was hard, but if she could ignore the pain and focus it on her thoughts, she should be able to break the bolts free from the wall. The steel plate was stong, yes, she knew she couldnt break that, but the brick was old, and being in the dark with no light, it was being rotted by the moisture and water from the floor. Was her current condition strong enough to pull the bolts loose? Of course! ::Kaym pulled up harder, she clinched her teeth as tight and hard as she could. It moved. The steel plate was edging more and more forward with every ounce of energy put into the job. Two bolts shot from the wall, leaving just the other two. "ahhhh" She bore a low growl as she pulled the remaining two bolts from the wall. Success! The steel plate let off her arms, and she flew forward with the two surviving screws. : Landing on her feet and agilely snapped her arms back in place. Was that too casual? Probably. But, being in situations like this as long as she has... It came almost too easy. She just didnt enjoy breaking her shoulders out of place. -Bleeding the pain into her will made the job easier.
:Time to look around: :After her parts were back were they belonged, Kaym stopped. Allowing the water to settle under her feet and ankles. This gave her an opportunity to hear her surroundings. Water trickles? She looked from were she had pulled the plate from the wall. The screws left very large-deep holes in the remaining brick. Carrying her boots, she approached the wall. Light, it was small, but there was a small source of light. She peered though the hole, maybe she could see out?

::In her yellow eyes, she saw what appeared to be another chamber. Not like hers though, this one was light with torched fire and was more like a narrow corridor. She moved her eyes around, seeing nothing- only the torches. She took her index finger to the fist size holes and began peeling back the loose rock. :: Few tumbled down, falling into the water surrounding her legs; But the rest, as solid as a brick wall could be... Although...
:She then turned, did her eyes mistaken her? Or was her sword, Vayu sitting against the opposite wall? Why would they leave that here?..unless they didnt care if she escaped or .. a more probable cause, they wanted her to defend herself as part of a game.
She lifted her eye brow. "Thanks for the handicap." She grabbed hold of the sword and unhilted it immediately. She swung the scabard strap over her shoulder. - Bending her elbows and arms back, her sword handle was directly parallel with her face. "Come-on baby, i know you can do this..." She whispered to her sword with her eyes and then she looked back at the wall. She was standing no more then 6 ft from the wall, when the swords blade began to evaporate the vapors on and around it. A red-orange glow swirled around it, quickly turning itself into a form of an airborne fire tornado; only surrounding its carrier and the sword. Following, the fire swelled more towards the direct blade, but still continued to spin and with more speed then before. Go. Kaym instinctively lunged her arm forward, releasing the fire cyclone.
Still spinning with incredible force the fire spit from the sword in every which direction, whipping about, acting like a spinning sprinkler head, Everything it touched, immediately melted, then resided into a charred slit. Giving a knife-though-butter effect.
In the few seconds it took to form the cyclone, it took just that long to slice itself through the wall before her. - The heat dissipated, leaving the path infront of her open. Curious... something came to her mind. Would the blade still be hot? She chanced it. It was as cool as the water under her feet. She shealthed it and moved forward ::

With Tellus in tow, he wasted no time in moving towards the set of double doors. With a solid kick from his right foot, it gave way and slammed open.
"......"
As cautious as was possible, he entered the new room.
If the gears near the missing lever were any indication as to the inner workings of the Tower.... then this sure just as hell stumped him even more.
The entire room seemed to be stripped of any wall, showing it's 'guts' in the process. Nothing but the steady whirrings of gears upon gears, pistons pumping out what looked to be steam and the outer side of the tower... which seemed to a be crystalline window of some sort.
The entire room had a clockwork feel to it.
"Just when the hell... was this place built?"
Wandering forward, he looked about for any gargolyes let alone darkness that wanted to attack...
Elsewhere.
Ezekiel continued walking forward, his eyes settled on Lucind. No smile seemed to grace his face, as usual-- just that somber stare, matching the dark lines that traced from his eyes down his cheeks.
"Interesting... so there is such a thing as a half breed."

"..." One corner of her mouth twisted. Didn't seem the elf was going to answer her any soon. "Fine then. I'll surely find out what's going on here," she mumbled, then retreated until she could only see a few streaks of red through the leaves. Vahn Kyonuske Ezekiel continued walking forward, his eyes settled on Lucind. No smile seemed to grace his face, as usual-- just that somber stare, matching the dark lines that traced from his eyes down his cheeks. "Interesting... so there is such a thing as a half breed." Lucind slowly turned her head towards the source of this new voice. "And how can you tell that?" With the cowl still on her head, only a few blue strands peeked out. The woman's pale features, as well as her amber eyes lay in shadows, from where she observed the man, who was still several metres away.

stare remind me to kick whoever built this place....*Rave walked towards one "wall" trying to discover what gear was attached to another and only becoming more perplexed by the moment* What can it possibly run?
Anyone else think that perhaps we just came in the wrong door to this place... I mean there has to be like a back door... for deliveries and whatnot.. and I bet there are servants halls that are not all full of traps and nasty surprises... and I keep wondering if we just picked the right wall to bust down if we wouldn't find the easy way up... sweatdrop xp *It sounded kinda silly now that she had said it out loud, but the boys had pondered on the absences of a discernable clear path before... and she had wondered how the place could possibly be supplied with all these traps in the way.*

::Moving in the chosen direction didnt seem to be paying off. No, she didnt run into any confrontation... But, that was the problem. Was she just abandoned in an underground desert chamber? She could now tell it had been underground, and located in a desert. Upon walking in the avenue there had been a time when she passed a barried exit.
:Auburn sand had rushed in covering more then half of the hallway. For her to pass, she needed to climb up the miniture sanddune to the opening located at the left part of the ceiling. That alone was a challenge, but that is left for a different story.
::She didnt mind the knowledge of bring in a desert. To her, the temperature was preferable. The only thing she didnt like was the nasty sand getting into inappropriate places. --anyway. :The sand incident had actually happened about a halfhour ago, to count. But, just as she was about to turn back to the sand exit and attempt to blast her way out; she heard something. It wasnt far, maybe one or two yards down the path. Looking with her narrowed yellow eyes she saw it. A door! The first ******** usuable door she had found. Cautiously sprinting to the door, once she approached the actual opening she stopped and pressed herself tight against the edge. She no longer was in the possession of a firearm, so she turned to the next best thing, Vayu.
: razz ulling Vayu from its sheath, Kaym swiftly turned through the doorway into the unknown room. Nothing. It was a cell just like her own, just, this one had a door, and the floor declined near the center. looking upon the falling center... wait. She saw something...almost completely submerged under the pond of water. ::She repeatedly warned her mind of caution. But something told her to quickly meet the body. And that she did. ::hastily grabbing the cold body, she knelt down, flipping over the body onto her lap. It was a man, a younger man, around his 30s. He was dressed in a brown robe with a white turban.
"Nathanial!" Kaym finally said, her desperate eyes didnt move from his face. Deeply hoping he would motion life. "Nathanial!"
Having a firm grip on his hand. It moved, it wasnt much, but a twitch was better then nothing. Just as she was about to call his name once more; his brown face lifted, and his eyes slowly opened, revealing his sky blue eyes.
"Kaym..." He whispered. "Your alive... I been looking for you for seven years ... to give you..."
"Shh, ... it's been a long seven years, especially without your company."
Nathanial managed a weak smile. "Heh...always with ..the flattery. Kaym, there is ... wrapped in the cloth underneath me. Im passing it to you. They couldnt find it. They wanted it."
:Kaym did what he said, reaching underneath his robe, she pulled something up. It was wrapped in brown old cloth and twine.
"What..." She was stopped by Nathanials finger to her lips.
"Get out of here. If they find you... they will kill you."
"I would like to see them try..." She was stopped again by his tighening grip on her forarm.
"They sealed Sam... Kaym. Get out. Leave me." With his words, her heart stopped. Her head raced so quick around the world and back. She was dizzy and her throat had a knot in it. It hurt, enough to believe someone had ahold on her jugular. It made sense. It makes sense. It makes sense, I stopped feeling him. I stopped feeling him. He wasnt around. Ive been searching for so long. so long.. so lo..::She looked down at Nathanials face. His hand was on her cheek, and it was slowly slipping away. "Kaym, never lose hope. Leave me here and go." And with those last words, his eyes closed and his head fell back. ::Kaym blinked back into reality. "Nathanial! Nathanial!" She then stopped and looked around the water. It was red! She hadnt noticed until now! The entire pool of water was littered in his blood. Hes dieing!
:A warm sensation swept across her body. It felt of anger and power. Her eyes were cold, angry and now filled with a new determination. She stood up, Nathanials body was still in her arms. She wasnt going to leave him there. NEVER. A place like this! FEH! He has more honor then to die in a place like this! :with her friend now over her shoulder she unwrapped her new gift, revealing a gun. It had strength, she could feel it race through her arm. It was like it was internally telling her what to do. For, after she dropped the brown cloth back into the water, she pointed the monterous gun into the air and fired. :Silence : From a far, a large red beam flashed deep, high into the sky, immediately followed by an explosion.

"Vahn...is it just me? Or does this look to be more then just...a building."
Dante'd have a field day in here... Of course, it could just be ancient sort of generator, to power the place...but these people showed themselves to be more refined then that. If anything...this was, too big, too clunky. What was the deal?

::Kayms feet drug from beneath her as she carried Nathanial on her back. He was still unconscious, he was still alive, but she didnt know if he would ever open his beautiful, kind eyes again. Nathanial had been a friend to kaym ever since she'd open her eyes.
:Flashback:
Being right after her long slumber. - She had just met Sam and had just recieved her new name, "Kaym." :She sat up from the unfamiliar bed and gazed around the white room in confusion. Where am I? Just as those words left her mouth, the floor opened. It was a man, he was young, tall, had dark brown skin and beautiful royal blue eyes. His clothes were strange to her as well, being that he was wearing a light brown robe and a white turban. She was about to stand up but then she heard : - " Oh, no no, it's okay, you dont need to stand up." He said, also motioning with his hands. His voice was soft, and he spoke with a slow accent, Kaym couldnt quite place it - she had heard it before... but where. :The man approached her, she stayed sitting like before.
His eyes lit up once he looked at her directly.
"Oh my, you were given yellow eyes." He said in a surprised, yet pleasing voice. His gentle smile eased Kaym's tension.
"Who are you...Where am I?..Why am I here?Yellow eyes?I dont have yellow eyes...ho..."
"Shh.." He put his finger over her lips, she stopped immediately. "In due time, you will learn all you need to know. For now, My name is Nathanial, I will be your guardian until your time is done...." ::Fading back into reality was the hardest thing for Kaym. But the pleasant memories of Nathanial set her mind at ease. You and that turban... The thought brought a sad smile to her face. She wanted to cry. She wanted to talk to Nathanial. Why did he give her that incredible weapon? Where did it get it? Why was he there? ::She stopped and shook her head.
No stop. Thinking of these things will only make you vulnerable.
The only thing she needed to do was get him to a safe place. But... where was she? Where was a safe place? All around here was sand, sand and more ******** sand.
