Distinction does help.
i mean, guns are only found on naval ship, but the sheer simplicity of the word allows it to encompass all protectille weaponry which does not fire bolts or arrows.
That said, I doubt han ever made notion to the disticntion to his own sidearm. He just carried a "good blaster at his side". Not necessarily a "good heavy blaster at his side".

All the more reason you should clarify. Debates are more easily hostile than standard conversation, and simple mistakes as that wind up being far more detrimental to your side, as you've already noticed. Just make sure you clarify better next time. Even the jedi don't read minds 24/7.

if any of you have have read further into it, they have A LOT of exotic force user weapons besides lightsabers. i think my favorites are the Light Claws, The light Tonfahs, and the Light Reaper ( think of the grim reapers sythe but with an energy blade)
