~waves hand~ I was happy to question his humanity, simply put.
And I will question and challenge the value of individuals who perpetuate misinformation and lies, especially those who would do so in a way that debases those with a serious psycho-physical condition or those who could mislead children into situations where they are easier targets for molesters.

TeaDidikai ~waves hand~ I was happy to question his humanity, simply put. huh. maybe i've got a different vision of humanity then. it honestly looked like you challenged his words. he took it personally. you challenged his personal decision to pass on something that wasn't his, particularly without critically thinking about it first. TeaDidikai And I will question and challenge the value of individuals who perpetuate misinformation and lies, especially those who would do so in a way that debases those with a serious psycho-physical condition or those who could mislead children into situations where they are easier targets for molesters. When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist. When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I remained silent; I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out. Martin Niemöller

AngryRobotsInc. CuAnnan Ah. So he's a liar either way. I thought you could enlist at 17.... wait, no that's drive. You can enlist, but you have to have your parents sign for you. And I don't believe you can ship out until you've graduated high school. Unless you're a drop out, but even then, I believe you have to have your GED. The only way he could already be in the service is if he was a high school drop out, with his GED, whose parents signed off for him. Even then, with when his birthday supposedly is according to his profile, not enough time has passed for him to get through both basic and job training, and be assigned to a unit. Your parents have to sign when you're 17, and you can go to basic in the summer between your junior and senior year in high school. You just can't go to AIT before you graduate. If you're in the reserves, you can drill with your unit until that point in time of which you go to AIT. The reason for this is so you can get at least an idea of how your unit works and of where you fit into the entire function. I haven't updated my profile since I made this avatar, which would explain why my profile still reads that. And I am calmer now, so now I can actually think straight and say what I actually mean. I do apologize for any misunderstandings of which may have taken place when I was previously on, but stress gets to all of us at some point in time. I follow Tyr to the best of my knowledge in my day to day life and try to set an example to others. I'm not asking for any forgiveness for how I behaved, all I'm saying is that I apologize.

As a Veteran, I would like all non-military personnel to kindly shut their cake holes about things they don't understand. I've sent men to the hospital for questioning my honourable service, and can think of few more gruesome slanders to render to a Soldier.
I know I'm in here late, but I won't be quiet on this. I bled with men who were 17, in Kosovo.
If someone is pretending to service, that is a high crime, one of the few I am not likely to ever forgive, and would go out of my way to seek vengeance for. However, if the person isn't... if they serve honourably and I continue to see such ignorant (or deliberate) misinformation being spread about, well, let's say you haven't seen me so angry. There is a camaraderie b'twixt all Soldiers that none who have not bled with a fellow on the field will ever know. Some of us may be ignoble brutes, and should be taken to task, but to directly gainsay one's actual service... that cannot be allowed to stand.
In short, the young Soldier might have made a poor showing, but some of your responses were unforgivable.
Then again, who gives a damn what I think anyway.

My pride comes from my service, and this is what I always wanted to do. My father, my grandfather, and so forth all served as lifers in the army, and to have others speak like that make me fell dishonored. I felt like s**t already, so the slander I faced did not help. I find it fascinating though. Those who do not know me see me as scum, while those who have seen my actions and become my friend say that I am an extraordinary man. I haven't even gone to AIT yet and I have west point looking at me. The four services actually competed for me. Thus I only have to say that you must know somebody to judge them, not just off of first impressions. You don't know if that person was having an off day and can't think straight.

I never held a commission. Sorta a sore point, as I got my West Point packet approved the day after I got my med boarding. Talk about great timing. xd Well, there's also alot of people on line who use the anonymity of the web to tell deliberate falsehoods. I can understand why people may doubt. At the end of the day, no civilian will ever understand, no matter how cunning, how concerned, or how insightful they are. I should be more patient, but I'm not a very good person at all. There are many things I should be. They just can't possibly comprehend what an insult it is. that lack of ability to comprehend should purchase more tolerance from me. But it doesn't. ~shrugs~ Always remember, we aren't like them. We can't hold them to our standards, or even expect them to have standards even vaguely compatible with our own. My post was overly harsh, but I'm leaving it there, because when someone takes offense, they should share it, they shouldn't be passive-aggressive... and mayhaps, just mayhaps, if people see the scope of reaction they have called forth, they may gain a glimmer of how serious the matter is. Whether they will use it as a spring board to be @$$hats, or attempt to show some measure of respect, well, that depends on the person. Just like I have editted out my use of the G~ word for the sake of the feelings of others, some people use it more to goad them, knowing how bad it is. No one really knows each other online. We are missing the visual ques, the posture, the intonation (tho bolding and the like can help), the scents that let us communicate effectively. Oh, and some people are lying. It is a different realm from the Waking World, and it still leaves me hard pressed to understand the societal evolutions therein. Oh, and go to West Point. Do it, ASAP. It is a great opportunity, and it will open many doors, and if it doesn't work out, well you are just back where you started.

But still... I can only wonder. I'm a medic, and my job is to stick my hands into another man and try to make it so he won't die. I can't help but to wonder if it's all worth it. There are those whom of which don't understand what we must go through, of all the hard tomes we must face. There are those who think we just joined for money, which in the long run comes to nothing. I joined to protect the people of the United States of America, not to be ridiculed by them since they doubt me. If anybody pretends to be in the service, they don't have any respect for what we do, and I would indeed look down upon such a person. So riddle me this. Is the man I'm trying to save, my own comrade, pain worth saving those people who have no idea of what we do for them so that they can sleep in peace at night.

I was in an Engineering unit attached to the 2nd and the 505th then, so I doubt it.We had to spend most of our time under the deplorable French command. But that is a whole different can of worms... Fsking hate multi-national command structures. What unit was he in? At the end of the day, the Soldier knows it doesn't matter. We fight for our homes, the people there, the things about them that we love. Failing that, we fight for each other. We don't require adulation or esteem. Accolades are for others. Take comfort in the righteousness of your own actions, do not seek their value from an external source. Our sacrifices would mean nothing if everyone bore them. That we have made this choice, that is what matters. He made his decision, it was worth it enough for him, if you don't agree, then at least honour his conviction.

Here's the thread I was looking for! Greetings and salutations~
My "Gaia Name" is Quil. I'm going to be honest up front. I went through that "hey-look-I'm-12-and-I-want-to-do-magic-like-changing-my-eye-color" stage, but I've happily grown out of it.
I'm not Wiccan. I come to you as an open minded Demonolator here to share ideas about philosophy and magic. I'll be honest, though, I'm probably going to lurk a bit because I'm not exactly comfortable yet? sweatdrop
I'm not here to start fights or press my deities on you or anything, but it's hard to find people with similar beliefs as my own on Gaia. Most of the Satanism guilds I'm finding are atheist or just plain weird. I'm not exactly interested in anything having to do with the "Joy of Satan".
I'm interested in chaos magic and divination - but I'm a novice so go easy on me. rofl

Hello, my name is Alice. I'm here partly because I tend to follow my heart, and it said that Christianity wasn't for me a very very long time ago. I'm trying to find my place. I don't really believe in any kind of magic except for things to do with healing or to make certain physical aspects better, as well as mental and spiritual. This guild has been opening my mind up very much since I joined, and has been making me think and re-think about everything lol I'm sorry if I seem like I'm not very serious or if I seem bitchy, but, it's not true. I'm very serious even if I'm laughing, and I never mean harm to anybody. I just try to make light of things. Oh yes, there also isn't always some great reason behind things I say. I kind of operate on a whim at times. Not always though. I like to be happy ^-^

Well hello, I'm Robert and I am one of the "eBiL Xtians". lol. Actually I am a Christian that is part of the heretical tradition of Gnosticism. I guess I could be considered an M&R reg. I joined this guild to gain some new insights, because quite a few friends are in this guild, and I don't fit quite in most other "Christian" oriented guilds because well, I'm a heretic and follow a different cannon, different orthodoxy, and all that other stuff. Anyway thank you for letting me join.
