Remi would be glad later that his phone was off, because he was currently..insanely distracted about being shot in the face.
Dont worry Ren you will get a snarky text reply later about foam fingers too.
"OW OW OW WHAT THE HELL MAN." The kitsune growled fiercly, deciding that maybe this human form was not the best of things to be fighting in. Shifting into his true state, the german shepherd sized fox lunged himself at the hunter. It was a combination of Revenge, Fear, and just being pissed off that made him charge. Teeth and claws would meet him.

The shard of ice collided in mid air as Nirva rushed forward, the impact against her helmet, the sudden surprise of just how desperate the hunter was to try and avoid what she so clearly deserved.
The less than enthusiastic look from Mengyao only made the witch smile all the wider, much in the way a younger sibling might upon having thoroughly disturbed an elder. There was a small bounce enacted, one that actually brought her off the ground in attempt to further gain the Horseman's attention and mingled disdain. "Of course I'm here! Wherever else would I be but right in the heart of some fun?" This wasn't at all fun, not really, but she was just glad to have found something to do other than wibble around in worry. Not necessarily one to dislike a whole group of people, she certainly made exceptions for horrid, raging bits of slime. Namely, the Hunter with the tonfas who decided butting his way between her and the much taller Horseman was a good idea. It certainly wasn't as it gave her a nice little angle in which to throw her razor sharp cards. "Ooohh, even if I was interested in something a bit more lively I don't date boys who are quite so short."
As for Lifen, she received quite an energetic wave from the witch who took a few steps back from the fight toward her. "Fancy seeing you here as well! Don't tell me you're following him around." The witch pointed toward Mengyao but also gave the Horsewoman a wink, for someone had to liven this battle up!

SHEHK being science'd by MIMSY
"Hm?" Shehk looked to Mimsy and the clump of fur she held. Was she talking to herself? Adorable. But not her problem if so. She was aware of the answer, even. "Hope you figure that out before time is up." she answered. "Because I don't know if it will stay that way for more than an hour." If it did? All the better.
But she was just trying to be helpful.

"s**t..!" Ryan cursed as he caught movement in the corner of his eye, urging him to pick up the pace. He didn't have a weapon, so fending off two who clearly still did have power, was suicide. However, either by extreme luck or bad timing on their end, only one attack reached him. There was a sharp pain, not at his neck, but his shoulder instead. But it wasn't enough to stop his advance on the orb. Though just as he reached it, darkness spread and--
I have what you desire
Ryan blinked, surprised to find himself back in the same room as before. Though this time, no crowns were visible. There was, unfortunately, 'him.' The other him who he had hoped he would never see again.
"Back so soon? I thought you were going to do your thing over there." The other Ryan snorted, almost making the real Ryan want to punch the other Ryan. "Well, the crowns are gone," Good. Even though he managed to find his way back in to this particular room, he wasn't keen on the outcome. He didn't want the crown, not after that. "I don't really have anything to give you," the other continued before pausing, a thoughtful look on his face. "unless-"
Unless?
Ryan eyed the door with a look of suspicion. It wasn't that it was strange, but that it was familiar. A little too familiar maybe.
"Well, if you're here. Since you're here, even, why don't we take a tour."
"A tour?" He started to speak, but found his attention being drawn towards the door. Or rather, what was on the other side of that door. "What is--"
"Kat didn't make it." The voice was barely audible, but the words struck him hard.
"Kat--what?" What did he mean--just a second ago, he had seen Kat with Ceres. She was a little banged up but--
But she was alive.
A hand touched his shoulder and Ryan turned to see a figure--somehow familiar, yet the fog obscured his face. "I'm sorry, Ryan. I'm sorry." He continued and Ryan got the feeling that Kat hadn't been the only victim. To confirm his sinking suspicion, the fog lifted, just enough for him to see the graves. Ten of them.
"I'm sorry."
No. He didn't want to hear it. What good would being sorry do now?
"I couldn't save them."
Ryan's jaw clenched as he approached the graves.
Wilson, Dakota, Ceres, Eva, Gale, Saya--all of them had been alive and well. None of them were supposed to be dead! His mind was buzzing with both anger and sorrow until he came to the last and newest grave. Kat.
"How..?" He heard himself say, suddenly feeling very weak in the knees. "How did it happen? When did it happen?" He felt sick. He felt angry. He had vowed to protect them and yet, here they lay. Dead.
He wanted answers! A reason! Anything!
"Oh wow," The voice forced him to snap out of it. Bringing his attention back to the 'other' Ryan just as he closed the door with a 'click.' "Well, I guess all sorts of fun and happy times wait for you if you go back. That's what being a Hunter and all that jazz means right? Hugs and puppies for everyone?"
"That's what--" he swallowed hard, hands shaking. "that's what happens if I go back to Dues--if I go back to being a hunter?" He didn't want it! If all that awaited him there was death, then he would never go back. He would find some other way to protect them!
It was then, as if on cue, the other Ryan smiled. Like he had predicted this. "Hey look here, another door! Let's try this one instead."
Did he really want to? The idea of seeing anymore of what he had just witnessed made him feel ill. Unfortunately, he had no choice in the matter and soon found himself, not in the miserable surroundings as before, but somewhere more grand. But if anything that that had caught his attention, it was 'him' and not the other him--but another one. An older one.
"No. I will deal with him myself, after all the grief he has given us." The older Ryan said.
But deal with who? Given the grim look, whatever was about to happen--it didn't look like it was going to be a happy occasion.
Just then, someone was pushed forward. It took Ryan a moment but eventually it became clear. Caelius? Oh God. Now he really wanted to know what happened. There was something off about him though. He had remembered so much pain and suffering at the hands of this man, and yet--he was nothing now. The once powerful and feared death division lead was now nothing more than a shadow of what he once was.
The older Ryan, unfazed by the man's appearance, seized him by the hair, forcing his head up. A dark, satisfied look in his eyes. "That's good, I want to see your face before you die."
Wait was he really--
The blow was swift and silent, as the spray of red marred the building and just like that--it was over. The man he had hated and longed to kill was finally dead. Never again would he hurt the ones he cared for.
Ryan was silent. He felt nothing at seeing the lifeless body that was once Caelius. He felt nothing at all, except for the grim satisfaction that justice had finally caught up with him.
"Well, that's a bit more promising," The other started, crossing their arms over their chest and looking equally as satisfied. "I really like that ending, I mean there's blood, and more blood and some sort of revenge motive you've got going on there, and I love a good sword fight-"
He turned back again, this time looking him directly in the eyes. "So what do you say? How about we make a little trade-off? I go over there-" He motioned towards the one door, the first one. "And you can come over here. Fair trade."
"I--" If he went--would he really be able to stop Caelius? Would his friends live? He would be able to protect them? To him, this wasn't a choice. He saw only one path. "accept."
"I believe we met briefly, in a room full of vines." She didn't know why she said it, it wasn't exactly important information. Perhaps it was to pass the time while she tried to find better footing.
"Is there anytime it might be a pleasure?" She asked and took another swing at the same time.
Armagnac hissed in her head, as that swing yielded no satisfaction for the weapon.

They weren't listening to them. Taunts, nonchalant attacks, conversation. And all the while her pitiful defenses could barely stand up to them. Actually, they did not stand up at all. Like paper.
Not enough. Too many, too strong. She was on the verge of panicking.
That was when Thane's crooning voice suddenly surrounded her like a warm cloak against the cold. < < We hold power. Release it, Halfling. Strike true and show them that the smallest warriors can have the loudest of voices. > >
Stormy swallowed hard, but inwardly bobbed her head. The time to mumble and whisper was over; she had to take a stand.
The charge was released into an innocuous form at first - just a semi-transparant purple ooze coating the greatsword. Her gray-green eyes set on the female horseman, goaded by Thane to choose whom he considered an apparent "partner" to the horseman. Someone of value perhaps: and if so, to strike her would mean to divert the attention off her fellow trainee.
And mark herself for death.
Well, one way to find out if it was worth it.
She moved forward with a sudden speed she didn't know she possessed, raising the greatsword with both hands. "I said stop!"
The sword came down on the horseman. The friction lit the oily substance.
"Before...what?" Mimsy tore her stare away from the fur to give the cracked orb a brief once-over. Relatively unchanged. What else could she have meant? The reaction? She was coming up dry on any theories that could lead to an actual answer here. There was no equipment, nothing here on the field that might help her, and the implication that time was running out didn't serve to comfort her in thinking she might get her answer.
Clutching the fur in one hand, she leaned forward. Begging. "Tell me. How do you make this happen? Does it have a name?"

Care could not do anything but watch, and struggle, and scream bloody murder as the horsewoman went over to kat. Kat, being...stubborn and defenseless, Aka being herself, was nothing more than a sitting duck.
"nononononoononoo ******** YOU." She screamed even louder at the horsewoman, pain and rage fueling her actions she leaped up and pushed the horseman away from Kat, and once more took place defending her.

The anger was rolling off him in waves, more so now than ever before. It was clouding his mind... and turning him slowly, threatening, to make him think and act like nothing more than a feral animal. The distortion was singing in his mind, directing him towards what he really wanted. He craved blood, he wanted it. He clawed this time more and more intently at the human under his claws. He needed it, wanted it.

Not bothering to chase after the two, Mei turned back to Eva with a small shrug and the shake of her head. "I have no idea.. But yes.. I doubt its anything pleasant.." Spotting Gale, she gestured a small wave in greeting, smiling brightly. "Hey, where were you?"
Looking from Gale to Eva and back again, she couldn't help but grin wider. "Ooooooooooh, I see, I see." This must have been the special ghoul he had spoken of earlier.

They had been fighting the good fight, and he was greatly in debt to many people who, for not real reason, were protecting him despite the fact he couldn't return any real power for their help. All he could do was try to keep steady and aim. The horsemen were gathering, taking down hunters left and right, others just barely concious taking those fallen and making a break for it.
"You humans think so much of yourself, when really you're as easily taken out and crushed as an insect beneath my feet."
Melvin glared, looking at the horsemen as he rode, shooting arrows at his shield.
Insect?! I'll show him how grand insects can be! Saliva snarled, and Melvin felt her looming weight rise up in anger. He too was insulted, but he in no way had pride for insects. He was not some bug!
"So be crushed."
As much as he wanted to say he'd be the one crushing him, the horsemen had his money where his mouth was, and the arrows shattered his shield and threw him back, stabbing him in the shoulder. Wincing, he laid there, and the world became white again.

Not-Ryan smirked, straightening his collar. He was wearing Ryan's Hunter coat. He was holding Locke. "Oh good, I like that answer, it makes everything so much easier now, doesn't it?"
The door opened once -
- And then slammed closed behind him.
Darkness-
As Ryan's body, his real body convulsed, spasmed. Once, twice, three times, and then went still.
