Shikari was startled awake by Shina's yell, and Chiyo was startled by the larger pokemon inserting itself in her way. She sparked a little and huffed, especially at the one trying to talk her out of it, but her anger and her body were pretty much spent. She started to relax a little. Realizing that Chiyo might be getting into some trouble, Shikari called the blitzle as calmly and cheerfully as she could. "Come on back, Chiyo. I need you here." It worked - it made Chiyo feel like she was important and counteracted the feeling the Raikou had inspired by ignoring her. The little zebra almost jumped back into the cart - and stopped cold, starting to glow. Shikari could sense a change, mostly in the wind patterns, but the the balck-haired, ruby-eyed girl had no idea what it was. "Chiyo! Are you okay?!" Who was nearby? "Anyone? What's happening to my Blitzle?" She was trying very hard not to panic.

Hearing Shikari's yell, Anise looked over for the cause. Where was Chiyo? She didn't spot the pokemon for a moment because she didn't see the black-and-white form; it was enveloped in a bright glow. "Oh, it looks like she may be evolving!" she called to the worried trainer. "She'll grow from a Blitzle into a Zebstrika, like Gypsy. It won't hurt her at all, and in fact she'll be stronger."

"Oh, how cool!" Joey said, eyes locked on the evolving pokemon. Neither of his pokemon could evolve like that, so it was really neat! Well, Lily might be able to evolve later, but she needed a fire stone, and he didn't have one. But yeah, pokemon evolving was cool!

Doyle nodded when Gen said thank you for the welcome. He wouldn't say it but at least he could acknowledge that he appreciated the welcome. Hearing her ask about the Raikou made him turn to look at the legendary. He made his eyes grow bigger as if in surprise. "Wow. You certainly do not see a legendary every day.... not usually and certainly not with those colors." He commented. He then noticed Ark was near the Raikou as it was attacked. "'Ark." He called out to his zorua.

"Yes it would be nice to travel with more people. I'm usually a loner when it comes to traveling but every now and then I like to travel with others." He said pausing to listen to where they were going. However he wasn't really able to hear as his ears were covered. He got a look of confusion and then surprise as he realized what had happened and who had done it. A mewtwo! A freaking mewtwo had just popped into the group of people and was acting all friendly! All thoughts of the Raikou being the experiment flew out of his mind. The mewtwo was the target.

He slowly turned his head to look at Gen. "Eliza..... did that really just happen? Is that what I think it is?" He asked her quietly after taking a step closer to her. He didn't notice how the overly friendly lady was barely moving as she watched the mewtwo. Hearing Shina say aloud what the species of the experiment is made Doyle speak up. "A mewtwo? Is it something like a mew?"

Ark cocked her head at the Raikou's greeting. She was about to ask it some questions when he was attacked and then she was called back to Doyle. She quickly ran over to her trainer and looked up at him. When she saw the new pokemon pop up behind him, her eyes narrowed and she hissed a warning. "Stay away from my trainer." She warned the mewtwo. However the strange pokemon was already gone. Her eyes narrowed she watched the mewtwo as it moved from Shina to Joey.

89585 watched the physical change with more curiousness than awe. She blinked, not understanding the idea of evolution, and figured it to be an attack instead. Suddenly, her eyes widened with glee as she shouted, "I could do that too!"

Her little form began to glow and a foreign energy collected in her outstretched balls for fingers. The orb grew and grew, growing a faint blue, until she vaulted the Aura Sphere in a random direction. "See, see, I can do that too!"

The missile of energy was making a beeline straight for Cetus and it was her Purrloin who caught the incoming attack just in time. The grunt blinked when she felt the weight of her feline bereft from her lap. The Purrloin had rounded herself in the air and was preparing an attack. She retaliated with a Shadow Ball, causing a small explosion and a widespread flurry of smoke and dust when the two collided. Landing on all fours, her fur bristled in defense, but Cetus's voice calmed her immediately.

"Oi, Schea, stop!" she cried, definitely out of character, but it was the only thing to prevent her Purrloin from attempting to scratch the experiment's eyes out. With that, she stood, and smiled at the others with that hand to her cheek again. "Ah, what a mistake . . . " she said, sighing. "Do be careful next time, little one . . . "

The Mewtwo only nodded, silenced by her wariness of the other woman, and slowly floated back.

"Ohhh..." This was new. She was so fixed on her own pokemon she didn't notice that the others were talking about a mewtwo and a raikou. She wouldn't have known the significance of those, in any case. As Chiyo changed, Shikari slipped out of the cart to see if she could 'see' what was happening. She reached out her hand as the zebra stopped glowing and touched a leg instead of her back. "You got big!" The astonishment showed in her face and she gave the Zebstrika a huge hug. Chiyo returned the gesture, but then laid down. She was very tired.

"Congratulations, Shikari. She looks great!" Shina told the blind girl. The ...chaos of the Mewtwo's misunderstanding made Shina blink slowly in a gesture that somehow conveyed a deep sigh. Then her face brightened again.

Shina dug in her pack and pulled out a lemon. She'd been leaving one in her saddlebag in case the little pokemon showed up again. Slicing it in half, Shina focused on warm, happy thoughts and called to the pokemon. "Little one! Hey, we didn't get much snuggle time! Why don't you come over here and have a lemon? Remember last time? You like lemons!"

Shina only had to mention the word "lemon" to catch the experiment's attention. She doubled over in a fitful floating tumble, snatching the fruit up and stuffing the half in her mouth in glee. The sourness was completely enchanting. Something she surely missed!

"Mmm!" she giggled, swaying to and fro in the air. "Good, good!"

"Oh, that's just the direction we were going!" Genesis replied enthusiastically when Keria answered. She turned a questioning gaze to her yellow-haired companion and, when he replied with an agreement, she clapped her hands with feigned excitement. "That settles it, then!"

She directed her attention to the caravan leader now, wondering if there would be anything against the decision or, if not, if there was something they had to do. Before anything could be said, however, a chain of singular events occurred.

Most notable was the Mewtwo that appeared out of nowhere, and proceeded to stick its hands in Doyle's ears like a child. It genuinely surprised her, and she nearly jumped in response. But just as quickly as she had come, she was gone again, straight into the arms of Shina. The caravan leader sure had a way of attracting lengedaries, Genesis thought, half amused, half impressed.

She nodded in response to Doyle's question, still bewildered herself. The Blitzle's sudden evolution, and the Mewtwo's attack didn't help much. Still, the latter had seemed to be acting on an innocent desire to share its abilities, not harm, and was a likely suspect for their mission, as well. Then again, so was the Raikou. It would be ideal to capture them both, but if that was impossible, who would they prioritize? She would have to wait and observe before coming to a decision, but she glanced at her companion to see if she could read his own opinion on the matter.

Atlas stood indignantly when he felt the Emolga's electricity. It was too close for comfort, and appeared to be harming the hat he had come to enjoy. Thankfully, the attack soon stopped and he settled down again, albeit more roughly than before, and kept a wary ear faced in Voltron's direction.

The twins had since joined the group, accepting the offer of travel and food and watching the group as they breakfasted.

Sperra was as edgy as ever, seemingly unable to relax with all of the people around and a big legendary that other pokemon kept trying to attack. And when the Mewtwo showed up... She was practically bristling, so antisocial that a careless brush of Delah's hand caused an intense static spark.

Delah winced and took her hand back, her hair on end.
She sipped some coffee and turned to the person who seemed to be leading the whole group.
“So, you said you were making your way across Zatao? Any particular reason?” she asked Shino, head tilted inquisitively, “My brother and I are also travelling but we really don't have a plan in mind...”
She was keeping an eye on everybody, a bit at least, trying to figure out who each one was before she talked to them herself.

Her brother was not nearly so careful. He had been having a ball of a time ogling everybody when he wasnt absolutely confused about which thing to sketch.
Jan's drawings were... acceptable, not bad for a 14 year old. They had definite potential, and great distance and composition but their proportions and detail needed work. He even knew that he needed serious practice. But he was just so excited, not serious at all! He had to draw things quickly because there was always a NEW picture, but he knew he had to spend some time on a picture to get it right. All these new things and people and pokemon... But he had to get better too, if he ever wanted to be a contest sketch artist. So he compromised with himself and started carefully sketching hands and feet and paws. Soon he had amassed annoyed looks and a page and a half of sketched paws, including the Zebriska.
He would do the Raikou next, when it was lying down so that he could draw the paw pads... but for now he turned to the lemon-eating mewtwo.
“Hello!” he said, waving graphite-stained hands completely without fear at the strange experiment pokemon,
“Wouldya mind holding out your hand, please? Like this?” he tried to pose his hand with his graphite and charcoal held between his fingers,
“Or or! Ooo! Here!” he grabbed a flower with the same hand, seeming to come up with an idea literally on the spur of the moment. He held out the charcoal-dusted somewhat smushed flower to the Mewtwo.
“Hold this too!”

89585 paused down to the second small human she's ever seen, confusingly twisting her arms this way and that as he spoke. She flailed a few times, looking like a newborn Pidgey, face squiggling up in confusion as she didn't know where to place her hands. Mirroring someone who was technically a posing reflection was a bit difficult for the infant. When the flower was offered, she giggled, and took it gently in her balled fingers.

"Like this?" she asked, twisting her arms as the boy had determined. She floated in place, legs twisted up a bit in the air, as she half-reclined. She wanted to smell the flower, but couldn't with her want to stay still. 89585 had no idea what the boy was doing, but many times before scientists asked her to hold still for observations.

They had made several stops along the way, basically battling when they could. During one of those battles Zue had evolved also the male had caught a new pokemon Flora, his horsea. The two had found her at a small pond that they had decided to rest by on their journey.

Pedaling as fast as he could he finally caught up with the caravan at Seatence Valley. Stopping at a bit of a slide the male got off of the bike he had borrowed from the caravan leader. His crimson eyes glanced about the group wondering if there was anyone he actually knew. Sadly though there was not, making him feel a bit misplaced.

Jan grinned widely and sincerely, fiddling with his fingers until he had his sketching tools ready.
“Yep! Perfect!” It wasn't, actually, but the result of the experiment's confusion was MORE interesting than his idea. Which was awesome!
He bent in concentration for a little bit, focusing on the hand, the really really amazingly flexible hand of the mewtwo and the flower. He wanted to keep sketching the rest of the mewtwo- he had never seen one, didn't know it was a mewtwo. In his head he thought of it as ROUND-NEAT-LOOKING-FLOATY POKEMON. He did think it absolutely great that the mewtwo was talking to him.
He wished Sperra could talk, even if she would just nag and nag. She had a nice voice. And fluffy sparky fur. And a really nice profile when she wasn't hunched down and nervous. She needed to worry less. That was his opinion.
He finished off the sketch of the mewtwo's hand... and the flower... carefully, trying to get every detail. It wasn't as fun as wildly sketching everything so that he could remember it, but it was more fun than cutting onions, which Del made him do a lot (he forgot about the carrots and berries he also cut up, which he didnt mind so much.) and he could feel himself getting better at doing the details.
“You're really smooth” he commented to his floating probably curious model. It was an odd thing to say, but it never really occurred to him that it was odd.
He glanced up a moment. He was filling in shading now.
“Oh, you can move now...” His face, unconciously scrunched in concentration, lit up into an unbridledly friendly grin, “Imma just doing the shading...”
“And...”
“Done!”
He proudly showed his picture to his model. It was on a fresh sheet of paper in the sketchbook, a sketch of the mewtwo's hand holding the flower.
“Do you like it?”

(Does the mewtwo have a name, other than a number?)

Koorie had been keeping her distance from the caravan since the arrival of so many youths. It was that she didn't like children, she actually tolerated them quite well, but she wasn't sure her pokemon could handle grabbing hands and obnoxious behaviors. Miu, for starters, would probably attack anything that so much as grazed her tails... Ares she didn't even want to think about, trampling around and crushing little skulls.

Instead, she watched the surroundings silently from her seat upon Ares' back as she gently rubbed the big head of the Tauros. He had been antsy earlier and needed to move around, and the valley was perfect for him. Now that he was calmed down Ares was making a most comfortable walking chair on this fine hour. Commotion was coming from behind her, in the Caravan, but she supressed the curiosity to see what was the cause of it; tonight she'd figure it out from all the gossip.

Shikari gave Chiyo a loving rubdown, not completely unaware of what was going on anymore but definitely also not caring much. She was off in her own little world, learning every curve of her Zebstrika's body and giving the pokemon a massage at the same time. She was so proud.
