Misty chuckled out loud as Delores helped her off the train, and gave her a ride the rest of the way. "We'll just have to make sure we sleep in some today." she said, smiling down at CJ and rubbing the top of Delores' head.

C.J. smirked. "I'm with you. I don't think we'll miss nothin' TOO too important today." he said as he walked beside Delores back up to the freight car. Oddly enough, with "Up On Cripple Creek" by the Band stuck in his head.
"Riiight. If we wind up sleeping through the IO attack, I'm gonna laugh my head off."
It'd be a piece of cake! Like they'd ever think to come looking for superheroes here!
"If Artemis sees this, we may have houseguests. Let's see. Crystal, most the Batfamily, and . . . pretty much EVERYONE in Wayne Manor right now, not to mention Arell, Dundee, Kai . . . wait, you're smiling, writer. That worries me."
Relax, kid. I got a plan!
"Didn't you say that when I went to 'borrow' the Batmobile to go rescue Mi- wait, that turned out kinda cool."
I was just gonna say . . . you're welcome?
"Smartass."

Well, they got to the railroad car as he smiled. "Anyone ever tell ya you're a natural at riding on top of an elephant? Most people woulda gotten freaked out." he said.

Misty chuckled and looked down at CJ as she rubbed Delores behind the ear. "No, I can't say anyone's ever told me that before. I guess my little job helps me with heights of any kind. Though I can't see why anyone would be afraid of riding such a sweet girl like you." she said, patting the top of Delores' head.

C.J. smiled as they finally got to the railroad car reserved for Delores. "Well, long story short, Arell an' I got drunk one night and tried to ride Delores . . . worst rodeo idea EVER." he said. Dundee got it all on tape. C.J. didn't blame Delores though, he was drunk.

C.J. smirked. "We made good on it though . . . not trying it again though." he said, Delores nodding towards C.J., as if to say "ya damn right ya ain't!"

Misty grinned and patted Delores on the head again. "Well, I'm sure she appreciates that." she replied.

C.J. smiled and nodded as they finally got to that railroad car. "It's mutual. Hard to be a guitar player with a broken arm." he said with a shrug. Of course, HE was lucky. One guy did that and wound up in a body cast for a month.
"Okay, li'l bambino. We're here. Let the nice lady down and off to bed." he whispered in the elephant's ear. She took the trunk and lightly whapped him across the face . . . light for her I should say.
"Ow! Please?" he asked, Delores obliging this go 'round.

"Tell you what. How about we all get some sleep, and I'll come by and see you before I do anything else tomorrow. Sound good?" Misty asked, rubbing Delores head and sliding one of her legs around to get ready to slide down off the big girl.

Delores trumpeted happily and lowered down, C.J. getting in position to catch Misty when she slid down the elephant. Nice to know they were almost somewhat unaware of the meeting going on at the same time.
"'Rell's got it. I'll probably get a phone call from him."

"Good girl." Misty said before sliding down off of Delores and into CJ's waiting arms. Had to admit...she was really starting to like being buddies with an elephant. And she was really liking the whole exit landing.

"Oh yeah . . . "
. . . whaddadope.
Anyhow, C.J. caught Misty with a smile as the elephant trumpeted and went in. "Atta' girl, Delores. G'night!" he said. Pausing a little bit before the key got locked, he took a look above the Fourth Wall . . . well, all seemed normal. Arell and Kai had an argument, but they were out. Dundee went after Arell and . . . are they planning on storming IO? Just the TWO of 'em?!
"If they survive, I'm gonna dope-slap the s**t outta them."

Misty smiled and leaned against CJ as he closed everything up the right way this time. She yawned, then grunted a bit as she shook her head. "Figures...feeling just fine until the ride's over." she said with a small, tired smile.

C.J. smiled back as he finished closing the boxcar door and latching it closed. "Well, hopefully a li'l sleep will do the trip. They okay?" he asked, turning around to hold her in his arms.

"Yeah...I think they're just getting a little active again now that I'm up. Really need to figure out a way to make more room for them..." she said, leaning the upper part of her body against CJ and wrapping her arms gently around him.
