Does it make me a weak rper if enemy attacks actually hit my RPCs when it seems like they would?
I'm beginning to think RP battle is impractical. Noone wants their characters to lose, so noone can ever win.

Hikaro_rin Does it make me a weak rper if enemy attacks actually hit my RPCs when it seems like they would? I'm beginning to think RP battle is impractical. Noone wants their characters to lose, so noone can ever win. That is almost always the case, been more than one time I would take several hits, and every time I put them in a position were they should take a hit the come out with something stupid, even though taking the hit does not mean they lose...
You are a better Rper than most if you know when to take a hit, to most this is a impossible thing to understand.

Noone wants their characters to lose, so noone can ever win. Depends. Nobody really wants to lose and get lol'ed at for not winning a fictional battle, plus if someone can worm their way out of something they usually will, and as often as they can. Unless you get people who wanna roleplay fairly, not a lot of people do though. I mean, you've got this creation of yours, something you probably spent time creating and thinking "hey this dude/chick is ******** awesome", so you're expecting to take this character to the logical conclusion: Being totally ******** awesome. Then someone comes around and they show they're capable of beating your character like an uppity rent-boy. So you find loopholes or spam escapes so they can't, and then it escalates. A vicious cycle. neutral Rolling die for everything and leaving it all to chance can stop that, unless someone is blessed by the Random Number Gods and turns everyone into burger with a few good rolls.

Ah yes, the dice roll. I imagine if everything in POTS was based on the dice roll then everyone would quit and start murdering bunnies.
I can even imagine the papers. "The Great Bunny Massacre- Members of online roleplaying community drive rabbit population to extinction"

Taking hits is always good, I mean it shows that your character is in fact in some way human. I've always thought it interesting when people allow their characters to kinda get socked around for a bit before actually retaliating. Makes it seem as if their RPC suddenly gained the will to win you know?

Just so you see duo's post...
@duo, he just got a job, so quoting is a big help to make his activity were it is most beneficial (and hopefully most entertaining), just so you know.
