fletchen onlyateardropaway - you said you wanted to be a special education teacher. do you have a particular area of interest? I've had another difficult year with trying to get accommodations for my kids at the public school. Things are looking up, though. I'm also in the process of learning about becoming a parent support person. The laws for special education can seem rather confusing. Has anyone had any trouble getting school accommodations in place? i know for a fact that the school district your child has to make accomdations for you and the child with special needs.....ie, example, if i wanted my child to go to a private school, the school district would have to foot the bill, and they would have to pay for transportation as well. if you are having problems with the school getting to accomadate you or someone you know, let me know, pm me, and i'll ask some people i know what you can do to get what you want done.....ok?

haven't been on for awhile because i've been busy, but ben is doing good. we are still waiting for him to start walking, though is shuffling from one side of the couch, to other, and always pulling himself up to standing position. we are still waiting for ben to start making coherent speech, i keep waiting for him to look at me and say "momma," nothing yet, but i know it will come soon. i've also been trying to get him to feed himself with a utensil. it's coming slowly, but i'm hoping he'll do it before the summer ends. =) other then that, i'm ok, i'm expecting another on the way. it was a suprise pregnancy. LOL. xd the husband is halfway done with law school at this point, and we are just doing fine.

Ang- We never forget about anyone n_n anddont sweat it we all disappear once and a while due to life. CAUTION WALL OF TEXT Ugh went to ENT yesterday (with both boys @_@ ) Eric got an AOK! woohoo! But we have to watch because his one tube is weazling its way out lol. And i was expecting issues with him because he keeps complaining about his ear but hey ill take the"everythings fine". I expected Alec to go really fast because he is doing better. Not turning purple as much ect. The doc examins him and gets that scrunchy furrowed brow and my mind went "oh sh!t!". He says he wants a tympanogram done and we'll talk after. Yeah i know this is goin somewhere bad fast =( so we do the stupid test and he comes back and says that he STILL has fluid in his ears (its been there since birth) and we need to correct it and hope it isnt a sign of hearing loss gonk we are a bit worried because he slept through a fire alarm going off right above his head and 3 fire trucks passing, when he babbles he cant get clear ma and da's and it just sounds funny and you have to SCREAM things at him to get a reaction or be like right up on his ear. So were doing bilateral tubes and hoping it fixes everything. While he's out theyre gonna do a trachoscopy and bronchoscopy but they wont say why. I think its because of the constant wheezing and turning colors combined with the tracheamalasia (trach and voice box colapse) but they wont tell me squat lol. And theyre gonna try and fit in some specialized hearing test. Sooo we have to see the cardiologist the day of surgery to get the aok that his heart is fine for it and he has to have some antibiotics due to the whole in his heart. And after all this is done next month we have to go back to GI who is talking about doing an endoscopy and possibly corrective surgery to fix his stomach so he isnt constantly vommiting. WTF!! I thought this was suppose to be my HEALTHY baby. So yeah the docs said between the two its genetic and SRONGLY urged me to not have anymore kids crying I feel better now sorry for the wall of text. sweatdrop

omg monkey, i'm sorry. i hear you on the hearing thing. that was a huge problem with ben and us until recently. constantly doing hearing tests, getting tubes, having the tubes filled, ect. the hubby and i are really worried because he's still isn't looking at me and saying mama, or looking at the hubby adn saying dada. he does all the babble, and he does copy things i do, but we get nothing for speech.....so hang in there. i'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. i'm happy to hear that eric's doing aok, but dang, poor alec, he's so young. but i know that with you as his mum, he'll make it through anything. *hugz* heart please let us know when you hear more.

I'm so sorry, Monkey. I'm sorry the doctor said that to you as well.
If it means anything my son is perfectly healthy when it comes to hearing and he has a hard time with speech. He still doesn't say momma.

Thanks guys. The whole tubes thing i can deal with its not know IF he can hear thatsdriving me insane gonk i have to take him to see an eye doctor aswell. When he was born his eyes are a bit cloudy around the coloring part and it hasnt cleared so they said itd probably be a good idea to have it looked at gonk we know he can see just to what degree and will it be a problem later on blahblahblah xd im not too worried because he seems to look at you and get a nice grip on your hair pretty quick so obviously he can see rofl anywho i just keep a smile and hope for the best 3nodding it was so funny i was out with the kids and neither one looks like me im fair skin and light brown wavy hair , eric is real tan with blackdark brown hair and alec is WHITE like ghost white with blonde hair ..basically they are clones of their dads their faces dont even look like mine. So this lady walks up and says "oh honey its nice to such a young mom who's chosen to adopt" i looked at he and said "Lady i wish! but these are both my kids i carried them both for nine months and gave birth" she looked so embarassed and kinda scooted off rofl

update: yah.
well i went into the doctor today. i go in, on feb. and they will do an ultrasound on me to measure the thickness of the fetus' neck. i guess they can potentially tell me whether or not the fetus has down syndrome. my husband and i are both worried whether or not this child will be ok.
update for ben. i took him for a routine checkup. he's doing good. his white blood cell count is not good at all, they have to keep an eye on it. they test him once a month, and if it goes below a certain number, they will refer me to send him to a pediatric hemotologist. worse case sceneraio i guess would be leukemia. children with down syndrome have a higher chance of getting that then other kids. so the doct. have been keeping an eye on it.
i'm hoping when the doctor does call me the results, that they will be good, and i won't have to take him to see a hemotologist. i guess if the results are not good, i have to take him to one, and then they will do this test where they will scrape for some bone marrow. crying
all prayers are appreciated. i'll let you guys know when i hear from the doctor. i go through this every month, and i still get nervous waiting for her to call me...... gonk

ok: new update
i just found out from ben's ped, his white blood cell count went up. it was at 3200, and now it's at 4000. a normal count should be 5000. so ben will be retested in one month agian to check on the count
thanks for all thoughts and prayers, it is always appreciated. heart
