When you get your next year class sheduale, look it over, then realize that your not in band. At which point you start plotting different ways to try and get into band without messing everything else up. Only after staying in shock at it and wondering how the school messed it up THAT bad.

You know you're a band nerd when . . . You can toss your instrument better than the guard (I could do it really well on my trumpet, but I'm still working on my mellophone) When listening to a recording of previous or current shows you do the vocals. ( I do this all the time when I'm listening on headphones, I get really strange looks) When you are suspicious of low flying planes because you fear that other band directors are trying to spy on you (this happened to us today, this one plane flew directly over the band REALLY low like ten times) When you have given a first AND middle name to all of your instruments and givven her/him your last name. (Guilty!) When you look like you are holding a marble between your buttcheeks when you march instead of a drumstick up you know where. (Our band Director likes that analogy) When you can recite all of your BD's anecdotes and analogies by heart and tell which day and or precisely what time he will say everyone each season. When you can sucessfully recite "Eyes With Pride" and not just scream randomly (This is our "dismisal cheer" in which our drum majors call us to attention and the yell: How are you feet? (Drum Majors) Together! (band reply) How is your stomach?-In! Chest?-Out! Elbows?-Frozen! Chin?-Up! Eyes?-With Pride! x3) When you still remember the day that your drum major's voice cracked while calling you to attention. (Good times^^)

When you spend weekends figuring out the themes of TV shows you watch/Video games you play on your instrument. (I actually do that, yes. I can play the Mario theme on my Bari sax, as well as the theme to Dexter's Lab. Bear in mind, I learned Dexter's Lab in 6th grade.) Also, you know you're a band geek when you wish you could go to band camp, but can't, because you don't know where the nearest one is, and your family is so poor, your mother won't transport you anywhere outside the county (willingly, that is).

Anyways, you know you're a band geek when you find that looking at pictures of your BD when he was drum major at your HS hilarious.
When you're not a flute player, yet you have all your music memorized anyway (my friend does that and annoys the crap out of us when he sings it).

When you can tell a brass player what valves to use to play a certain note, and know exactly where the spit is located in said brass player's instrument, without ever having been able to play a brass instrument in your life.(guilty... sweatdrop )

You know you're a band nerd when you always step out with your heel first.
Actually I'm not really sure if other bands do that, but ours was taught that way. We were also taught to "Step, roll" when we march...

DiddleFreak61387 You know you're a band nerd when you start to sing past shows and your friends join in. My friends did that once, they were walking down the hall way and one asked how this part in one song goes, and they got to it and on the next downbeat they all busted into last year's show.. Hehehe my friends and I do that all the time its awesome!!
