eek crap...*Fan back open with a soft swish of metal on metal and a click as she locked it in place again, Hono was behind Tell with wide eyes of her own as she watched the rest of the statues for any sign of movement... suddenly wishing she had eyes in the back of her head* Hold still for a second Tellus...
*It was the only warning she gave the girl, thinking they didn't have time for her to take her time, worried about the next trick the tower decided to play on them. Healing power flowed into Tellus as she lightly rested a hand on her friends shoulder to help in the best way she could*

I really wish we were outside still... stare

Sunstrike jumped in surprise when the creature jumped out into Tellus, acting like a startled cat and actually ending up on the dias, barely missing the little vials in his panic.

They tinked alarmingly when he rattled the cage by planting a foot on it, three other limbs bracing himself upsidedown against it. Then something came from behind, crashing into him and causing even more disturbling little vibrations in the coloured vials.

Stone was bloody heavy when it impacted with you and Sun felt his ribcage take a beating as the fist impacted with it.

"--?!"

One by one they all made their move. Having been perched indefinitely within the chamber, without moving a single muscle for who knows how long... the

sprang to 'life'. Flakes of stone shattered to the stone as they moved their once rigid bodies.

Pouncing to the floor and mixing into the group.

Bringing the flat side of his Fang to bear, Vahn warded off the snapping maw of one, only to get dived on from behind, a pair of claws raking against his tough mantle.

"Shi---!"

Tilting from the suddent weight, Vahn fell backwards and back onto the forst level with a thudd, 3 gargoyles diving down after him.

That left nearly 6 on the second level with Tellus, Raven and Sunstrike.

Tellus turned around to say thanks to Hono only to see another ready to pounce the redhead. Grabbing her by the shoulder, she pushed her to the side just in time to move away from it. Turning to the side, she watched it collide with another one that had been behind her. She might've made a quip, but at the moment, she was too focused on keeping breathing. "I hope someone is willing to carry me after this..."

She bent down, the nagamaki clattering to the ground and pressed the palms of her hands to the ground. Pushing every fiber of her will and being into the earth of the floor, creating spikes that would form almost instantly, spiking through their two foes multiple times, large enough to split the creatures in two. It might catch more as they were springing up all over the place only avoiding the area where she and Hono were and the more general area where Sunstrike ********..." Her face kept turning paler as she focused more and more energy into the casting. Her hair turning more and more white as she did so, heat coming off her body in visible waves.

Now that I can use...*Hono had been tempted to just dance her way through the monsters, a sad thought that her poor fan blade would have to cut through more stone today, but with the heat waves rising off of Tellus she placed her free hand on the girld shoulder again. Absorbing the heat that Tellus was giving off was as easty as basking in the Sun light, an old trick that Sun had tacught her for replenishing her own power, it was not too hard to feed that energy back to Tellus, a poor attempt to help the girl keep going but one that was less likely to make Hono herself pass out from loss of energy* Sun The bottles, be careful!

"I'm a little busy to be worrying about bottles HONO!!" His foot had somehow jammed itself on the creatures nose, which was the only thing keeping the great big muzzle from taking out his neck. It gave him enough time to bring his weapon to bear, slamming it through the stone beasts neck. Something flickered, and there was an angry screetch, before it crumpled over.

Sun had sat up only to have to dance and move away from the multiple spikes that suddenly threw themselves up from the ground.

"May all the gods damn it! That was close?!" He wasn't blaming Tellus, just cursing his frustration at the situation. One of his opponants wasn't so lucky as himself, getting pinned by multiple rock spikes. Sun put it out of it's misery, weapon flaring up again and creating a melted wound in it's head.

"Vahn?! VAHN WHERE THE HELLS ARE YOU?!"

Wide eyes stared out, as the weight all but crushed his chest. His breath came out a bit roughly, before another stone hewn head came peering over the shoulder of it's dead brethren to stare at Vahn.

He'd landed on the ground floor, with the gargoyle atop him--- apparently impaling itself upon Efreet by accident. He could feel the flamberge glow a bit, as the beast's blood was 'sucked' into the blade.

Vahn had never seen such a thing happen before, but didn't have the luxury to contemplate about it.

Releasing the flames from his blade, he surged forward and blasted apart the dead weight pinning him down. As he sat up slightly, he could see three of them prowling around him.

That's when he heard Sun's shout, glancing up to the second level, and when all three decided to dive bomb him.

The last thing to be seen was a bright flash of heat.

"Sorry..."Tellus panted "Hard to control..." She toppled over onto Hono, like a tired child. And she wasn't much better. She used to have much better control of her abilities then this.

The bright flash of light though startled her and she jumped off Hono with a start. "Sweet Light, what was that?" Crawling on her hands and knees towards the ledge where Vahn had toppled over.

"Vahn..."

*pretty flashes of light danced in front of her vision, even with her dark shades still in place... then again these lights had more to do with the fact that she was just as bad off as Tellus, only still trying not to show it!*

stressed cry wait Tellus... never mind... Is Vahn okay? Sun, you alright?*Crap, stupid inability to see...stupid little flashes were her brain telling her that she was about to pass out.. so she sat down instead, her fan still in hand all she could do was pray that nothing attacked her before she managed to see again, or at least till her head stopped spinning.*

A warm hand suddenly found Hono's and gently pulled back on it a bit, guiding her so she didn't fall off the ledge.

"Careful, s'a bit of a drop..." It was all Sunstrike could do not to jump over the ledge and search out Vahn. A feeling close to panic was stirring in the back of his mind.

Bringing Hono up close, and standing next to Tellus he peered over the edge anxiously.

"Vahn! You okay?!"

-has been off in lalaland, forgive-

Halycanos kept his mouth shut at the comment, his eyes narrowing at a degree that even a flee would not notice the shift. He obviously wasn't fond of the implication of his weakness. But he did have to say... something... "...You got me by surprise, Kid. Just you wait, so anxious to start callin' me out. You wait till there's a day I ain't a foot and a half under and you start something."

"Whatever you say, kid. All I know is, you better refine your skill before you go in that stadium again. Or you'll end up running out with your tail between your legs." He laughed and continued walking on at a calm and steady pace.

Halycanos let off a very smug 'heh' before shaking his head. Maybe so. But that's just the plan. I was damned rusty in that tournement. (considering the time elapsed, the semi finals are taking place) ...I guess I was a bit overly proud of myself, but that won't happen again next year. I'm either walkin' away with that trophy in my hands, or I'll be carted away under a white cotton sheet." The implication was obvious enough, but for those people reading this on the side, who just happen to be a bit, DEE DEE DEE!, He's saying all or nothing.

Remants of stone surrounded the floor, even as the tip of his sword impacted into the ground. Blood dripped onto the floor in small splotches, heavy breathing heard.

His eyes were slightly glazed over, even as he reached up with his right hand and removed the severed stone hand gripping his neck.

The ground was smoking, blackened in a circular shape all around him. Steam rose from the Fang itself, hissing as it left the metal.

"s**t... I almost died!"

He kicked aside the nearby chest of a gargoyle, it's cavity caving in as it crumpled to ash. He spat blood to the floor, staring up at the second level to the three.

"Let's get the hell out of here... damn place pisses me off."

They had no choice but to keep moving forward for the moment.

Tellus' arms gave out and she collapsed to the ground as she saw Vahn was okay. Call it childish loyalty, but she still felt that her uncle was one of the most powerful beings in the world. Perhaps even more so then her father. So as long as he was okay, they'd be fine.
