Kazuma stepped up his pace just slightly, just so much that he walked infront of Miu, as to show that he was protecting her, and that anyone that went after her would have to go after him also.
"Who was he? A simple wanderer, apparently. No, I doubt most people have seen him before. At least, not many who have seen him have lived, i'd wager. That feeling..when he freely lets you feel his aura..it's shocking. Scary. Even for experienced swordsmen and women. I doubt I could have even laid a scratch on him, had he pressed a confrontation." He looked completely serious, and he scratched his chin thoughtfully. Then he turned and smiled at Miu. "But of course, I would never let anything happen to you. After all, then i'd only be a half-circle, and not a complete Halo."

Thihi... Miu giggled at his last comment, it was just too sweet not to giggle at.
"You shouldn't underestimate yourself Kazuma-chan... I think you're a great fighter! And even though you might not be as scary as that man you would most probably be a tough opponent anyways... who says cute people can't be just as scary as scary people?" She tried looking as scary as she could, but she didn't manage to do much more than pull a funny face.
"RAAAAAWR!"
"There were females?? How unusual, I haven't met more than a handful of female warriors in my whole life. Halbard? I would've thought that was a weapon most women would stay away from." She smirked and started scraping off the crud once again.
"Form a group together? It sounds like you're expecting them to sometimes soon do just that... but it does sound like a scary thought. It also sounds like a very unlikely thing to happen, since if these swordsmen are just killers like you said, they hardly want to work in a group. Besides, who would be their leader? Is there anyone of these 7 killers that could possibly beat all the others or at least a few of them? Someone that is especially dangerous?"

Masamune looked down at the ground in silence. "Of the ten? No...none of them could be leader, and they wouldn't gather together themselves. There are people with almost abnormal charismatic features, who are very...drawing. People simply want to be near them. Chaos or Sakura is one of those. He is very comforting, and simply draws people towards him. But to every Ying, there is a Yin. Kashi...is an evil man, who could bind all ten together...he is only dreadfully frightening. Thankfully him and Chaos never met. Well you must understand Yumi...this man, is almost too powerful. He trained in the same style as Chaos and Sakura did. Same master, but he left the master. he never came back to finish his training, or see him again. Chaos came back to kill the master. So you see...Chaos is possibly stronger than Kashi...except Kashi is 27 years of age, and looks 21 still. He doesn't seem to have weaknesses, and even less of a emptiness in power. He is the epitomy of death and evil...two more times and the steel will be done."
((Oh, and you're not just pouring water into it. You are letting the fire heat up, scraping off the crud, which is the stuff on top(That's what it's literally called). And then heating it up again to let more impurities rise to the top.))

Kazume stopped momentarily and looked at Miu, blinking, a slightly confused look on his face. "Kazuma-Chan..?" He certainly hadn't been reffered to as that often at all..
"Tough opponent..maybe, if you were to help, but i'm still uncertain. Either way, I of all people should know that cute people're dangerous. I mean, look at you. Tried to wake me up my pouring one of those nasty concoctions down my throat. I spent so much time in bed, I could barely get up. I was afraid to sleep in the same house as you for a while." He grinned. He was joking, of course, but he thought a little playful ribbing wasn't bad for a person every once in a while.

((Wooo our dear thread has reached 50 pages, *pats thread, wipes some dust off it then decorates it by throwing some confetti around*))
"So sorry Kazuma didn't mean to call you that... and why do you have to keep on reminding me of that terrible incident? My potions are dangerous if they're used in the wrong way, I am aware of that." She blushed and looked down. In the distance you could hear a horse approaching.
"Maybe it's the messenger?" The horse slowed down when it came closer.
"Excuse me vagabonds, but did you see a young woman and a man further down the road?" Miu was about to explode.
"WHAT??? NOT YOU TOOO! I can't beleive this! Alright we ARE team Halo you god damn idiot! Can't you see?" The messenger gazed down at the funny little girl screaming at him, then his smile suddenly disappeared as he noticed she was in fact Miu. He jumped down and bowed deeply, too afraid to look at the raging Miu he gave the calm Kazuma an envelope.
"What makes him a man that can bind them together then? He only sounds like someone people would avoid. You know all of this just makes me feel so old..." The thought of being as old as she was didn't please Yumi at all, it only reminded her of how soon she would be a lonely old cranky lady. Then her face lit up again.
"A fight between good and evil. Now THAT would be something to see... I mean the only thing I've ever seen so far is evil people fighting more evil people." This reminded Yumi of the young pair in whose house she had been hiding several years ago. After leaving that house Yumi had never again met anyone as happy and cheerful as that woman. Yumi truly beleived that woman had been one of the last good people left in Japan. With a smile she could remember the long discussions they had had, the wonderfully simple every day shopping they had done together, the unfancy meals they had shared. The womans husband she had had not seen much of, since he had been working until late in the evening every single day. Yumi even remembered the overjoyed look on the womans face as her husband surprised her once in a while by coming home one hour earlier than usual. Yumi had to admit she had never really understood how something as silly as that could've been so important for the woman. I wonder if they're still alive... what really happened to them? Even though Yumi was curious she didn't want to see the woman again, since she was sure it would only be a disappointment, there was no way the woman could be as full of hope anymore.

Masamune looked at the girl he knew as Yumi slowly. "He will be able to control them...because of his power. They will flock to him, because they want to change Japan, and become better, especially with how the Meiji government works. They want to eliminate the old ways as you know. He'll pul..." Masamune was cut off and looked as a messenger bird flew in. He lifted a hand and the bird landed on his hand. He pulled the message out and let the bird go.
Masamune stared and read the message. His face was grave. "I see..." He walked over to the furnace and threw the note in. He looked down to Yumi. "The war is over...Meiji has won. The wheels are starting. According to my contact...a man known to be an assasain was captured...it is planned that he will be killed as a traitor to the Meiji government...his name is Kashi." Masamune walked back to his place and sighed. "Those fools...those great fools. And a fight between good and evil? The fight between a Yin and a Yang...except the Ying...has a great amount of Yang in it that he must deal with in order to fight the Yang. And the Yang has a deficit of Yin...there is no balance in the two Yumi...the fight will be a tremendous one, with trouble for all..."
Sakura stood in Tokyo watching them put Kashi away. Sakura shook his head and turned walking to the road. He saw a messenger and two people on the road as he appraoched them. His eyes scanning them. He pulled the hood of his cloak up over his head. He continued walking, the sky darkening from night and a storm of rain. Maybe the heavens were mourning for the blood that would begin being shed tonight...that man Kashi...would not die.
Sakura watched them as he walked silence surrounding, despite him being there, he wouldn't be noticed till he was about 10 feet away. His aura seemed completely void, his presence was not there. He was almost the complete opposite of Kashi, and the other side of the coin to Chaos.

Kazuma calmly took the envelope, and bowed respectfully to the man. "Calm down Miu..a simple mistake, he didn't know. Anyway, at least he made it here, right? We could still be waiting under that tree, hmm?" He turned from the messenger to read the the contents of the envelope. Such sensitive information shouldn't be viewed by anyone but himself or his partner.
He opened the envelope carefully and gingerly, so as not to tear the contents. Pulling the letter inside out, he slowly read it to himself, taking in every word slowly. At the end his eyes opened wide, not from joy or excitement, but from shock. His hand, holding the letter dropped to his side. "The Meiji..have won?"

The man Sakura was looking over his shoulder and holding his hand up with the letter. He nods in agreement. "Yep...it looks like they won alright. At least the war's over huh?" He smiled at the man and then stepped away without seeming to make a sound. His body in tune with everything, and his aura even fading in with the environment, which is why...he is invisible as far as his aura and or presence.
Hakkyou sat in Edo slowly eating from his bowl. He had known the outcome before it started. He was just around to work, and find the strongest he could besides on that damned island...
Chochmah watched the tower in Tokyo, the one Kashi had been dragged into. He shook his head slowly and shifted his blade just slightly. He turned and began walking from it. That man was powerful. He wanted to meet him...he would be sure to do so. He could almost swear he had met him before though...somewhere else.
Mouki sat, not seeing, not moving. He was in meditation, in a small temple. The monks kept looking over to him. They were uncomfortable with the blood and death that surrounded him. Then again, he lacked eyes, so maybe it was just the wish to do so. Who knew, but they didn't want him there in any case.

Kazuma didn't even move, hearing..whoever's voice that was behind him. "So what if it's over? The Shinsengumi should've won. The old traditions should continue. But I don't understand why we've given up. We should fight to the last man." Kazuma continued to just stare straight ahead. He wasn't happy, and made his displeasure known.
"So then, stranger, my name is Kazuma. May I ask who you are?" He wasn't even sure if the man was still there. He hadn't felt or heard him approach, so chances stood that he wouldn't hear him leave.

Sakura walked around to look at the front of the man. "Life is important no matter who you are. If you kill ever man to the last man, you lose. Both lose. This way, you can fight, and continue to fight, while keeping your life precious. If you don't keep it precious...then is there any reason that you should fight? War kills, but it should be realized that someone's parent, child, sibling, relative or friend is dying. Maybe they are right, maybe they aren't...your choice as a man, is if you will accept that or not, and if you don't, who is there to fight about it? The leaders of your movements won't be living for more than another day..."
The man smiles and turns beginning to walk away again. "My name is of no consequence. For two I own, and one I use. The other for other times when now is not here. I am Sakura. Tis a pleasure."

Kazuma blinked once or twice, then turned and looked at the man as he was walkign away. "Even if we still have warriors left, what does it matter? Our morale will be broken, and our men will never want to fight again, just to lose. War requires sacrifice. I give my life because I believe in my cause. In the cause of our leaders, in the cause of the men who've died for our cause."
He placed a hand on the sheath of his katana, right before the hilt. "Our leaders won't die. I, nor my commrade would let that happen." Kazuma stopped for a moment, to catch his breath. "Sakura. A very nice name. Sounds familiar. Have I met you before?"

Sakura stopped and looked at the sky for a little bit. "You may...you know my master though Kazuma Yoshikuni, the man who killed his master and took the name of iaijutsu as his own, and is one of Juukonouenai-kenkaku. I know who you are...but you might know my alternate name better. The other man who resides in me, and who I once was. Chaos...The hitokiri who created chaos from the shadows..."
Sakura looked back with a soft smile. "Goodbye for now Kazuma...stay strong." He turned and continued to walk off again.

((Okay what was that rose persons name now again? The one I was supposed to RP with blaugh sweatdrop ))
For a moment the thought that the Shinsengumi had lost scared Yumi, but then she calmed down. After all she never had been a very devoted Shinsengumi member, the only thing she was worried about was what would happen to her house, money and other belongings on the mainland. But it was too late to do something about that now, she would not be able ot reach the mainland soon enough to save anything, anyways it might just be nothing would happen. Carefully she scraped off the last of the crud.
Miu was also shocked, it all seemed to have happened so quickly. She knew how devoted Kazuma was to the Shinsengumi and felt sorry for him. A moment she felt insecure, what would happen now? What should they do? Then she looked at Kazuma and calmed down. It would all be alright as long as she stayed with him, right? Worrying about the future wouldn't help her in any way, it was best to concentrate on the present moment.
Yes, he is unevitably strong. He reminds me of Chaos... for some weird reason. Maybe I'll stay a while to see if I'll get the opportunity to meet him.

Kazuma watched the man walk off. He knows who I am..He sighed slightly, collecting himself. He turned around and walked over to the messenger, giving him a bit of money for his troubles. "Thank you very much. You can go back now. Safe travels." He turned back to Miu, and put on a fairly happy face. As happy as one could be at that moment, anyway. "Miiiuu..i'm really tired. Can we go to town and get somewhere to sleep?"

Miu did nothing to comfort Kazuma, since she thought that would be best at the moment. Trying to cheer him up would probably just make it all worse.
"Sure thing, I know a good one that isn't too far away. We'll be there in no time and the food is awesome over there. Even their garden is beautiful." She rushed forwards. Kazuma needed sleep now, more than ever, probably.
When they arrived at the small but cozy looking inn Miu took care of paying for the room and arranging some food to be brought up to them. As if she was in a hurry she led Kazuma up to the room, arranged the cushions into a comfortable pile for him and sat down next to it herself to wait for the food to arrive. The whole way there she had been oddly silent and serious. Miu wasn't even hungry, but she had ordered some food just in case, maybe because she then had something to do.
