guardian_rose Recursive Paradox Yeaaaaaah... love and peace are definitely not major parts or even minor parts of Etherism. First, what is Etherism? Not heard of that one before. Etherism. Some stuff still hasn't been put up yet. Quote: Second, I believe I said most. There will always be an exception. So far, I've numbered the exceptions raised at six. To my and everyone else's knowledge there are only 3 religions that incorporate peace and love applied to all of humanity. Christianity is the one I'm aware of. I want to say Judaism but I may actually be wrong about that incorporating both. Buddhism to my knowledge only involves peace, not love. When the numbers go past a certain threshold, they stop being exceptions and start being the rule.

Recursive Paradox I want to say Judaism but I may actually be wrong about that incorporating both. Nope. Peace and love aren't for all of humanity until after the Messiah leads the world into full Torah observance according to their prophets. Until then, everyone gets the same shitty deal and if you are a Chosen of YHVH, there is a different standard of behavior within the 613 Laws for you than there is for the rest of the world. Quote: Buddhism to my knowledge only involves peace, not love. Even Peace could be viewed as attachment.

What were the other two examples you were thinking of?

Ok, so with the peace and love thing, I need to go back and reevaluate the thought process a little.

Etherism is the name you have given to your beliefs because no other religion you know of fits right?

Recursive Paradox So really, that eliminates my other two guesses. All I can think of is Christianity. What were the other two examples you were thinking of? Christendom, IRAB Fluffy Wicca, the Mazdian Revisionists. And then you have the Ba'hai and the Jains...

guardian_rose So just to make sure I understand... Etherism is the name you have given to your beliefs because no other religion you know of fits right? Not quite anymore. I'm actually purging any logical fallacies from it and its philosophy and I'm actually going to publish the philosophy and metaphysics so that the general population can benefit from what I've figured out (if they so choose) There are three people to my knowledge that have essentially become Etherists, beyond me (with the stipulation that I may need to change the name). So it classifies as a religion at this point.

That's a really good example.

It's like a light airy disturbing cake, with swirls of surrealistic fudge and a drizzle of raspberry and wtf sauce on the top.
Confusingly delicious. Except something tastes off in the cake.

I wouldn't know. Islam isn't my area of study. I know enough to avoid being a culturocentric piece of s**t when I try to aid Muslim feminists reform problems in their own societies, and that's about it.
