Yinzhen was a bit confused when she heard something heavy fall into her treat bucket, she looked down at the grey rock squishing the rest of her stuff and mumbled her thank you, before walking off. Who gave a freshling a rock for hollows eve?? Yin shook her head, and thought maybe the litch thought he was funny, perhaps Yinzhen should have laughed and been happier about getting the rock, after all this was the festival of tricks and treats, not just treats and there for candy. Ahh. Yin just wanted to have fun and she was overthinking everything again.
Illusion was off on his own though he was sure his mom was somewhere nearby, he highly doubted she would let him off by self himself for long. Illusion went to his next location, he smiled brightly and said. "Thank you." When he was given a bag of candy as a treat, and then also received a bat plushie that reminded him of his familiar that was at home. This was certainly a great stop. Then he turned to go look for something else to do, he spotted a sign for a haunted house and decided to check it out. It was full of fun ghosts hanging from the ceiling. Illusion laughed because he knew it wasn't real which made it kinda funny.
Zalir nodded. "Um, yes, I think, um, I'd like to move on. Maybe we could, um..." Zey looked around for another activity. "Riddle game?" zey squeaked.
Waaaaaaay too cute. Chries smiled at the Litch and nodded. "I think the riddle game sounds very nice." He led the way to the riddle booth. He got the first riddle, which he correctly answered--the answer was cotton candy. He even got a stick of cotton candy as a prize!
Sound Lee hoped everything had been cleared up between them. Certainly to him it felt like the bad stuff had gone out of the air now. He smiled at Ved and walked side-by-side with the Imp to the next house, where Lee bagged for himself a stuffed bat.
Vederat's prize was much smaller than his friends', but then again... He looked at all of the prizes he'd gotten so far, then looked at their prizes. Besides the fact that they had familiars, they had fewer--and less interesting--prizes than he had. He began to understand why they'd been so tired the last few houses.
Yes, it looked like things were looking up. Aura even got a new plushie at the next house, a bright orange cat. They took it to be a tiger at first until they looked more closely and realized that it was, in fact, a skeleton cat, just like their light red one.
Ryker stayed at the tree while his girls explored the festival, Effie keeping an eye on her younger sister. While the girls were gone, the big Grimm gently petted the Hallowed vespercat in his lap.
While their daddu rested, Effie kept an eye on her younger sister. Parfait was high on sugar and Haunted Hallows and it was hard for the junior to keep up with her. "Parfait! Stop running off!" she called after her.
Parfait giggled as she ran off from Effie again. While Effie was looking for her, she played a mini game with dice and won herself another bracelet. Holding it aloft, she ran back to Effie. "Look, look! I won another bracelet!" she grinned.

Zeta sat out of the games this time, taking a chance to study her new friends. She almost always seemed to attract the more colorful wisps and wasn't sure why that was. Maybe it was her own lack of color. Maybe they felt she needed some kind of accessory that brightened her look.

Pallas' sweet tooth was crying for mercy. Instead of grabbing another chocolate bat, she bought herself a pretty purple and black bracelet instead. It would be mostly hidden in the fur of her arms so she wrapped it around the end of her braid.

While the brothers debated what to do next, some costumed Nightmare (or maybe it was a Daydream, Jiang couldn't tell under the mask!) looped necklaces around their necks. "Hey!" Jiang complained, not a fan of being touched by people he didn't know. The necklace was pretty though.
Kaito was much less prickly about the new necklace and giggled as he looked at the glowing liquid inside. "Thank you!" he called after the costumed figure who waved at them as they went to distribute more necklaces.

Darrah wandered around the festival with his plushies in his arms. He won another plushie, but gave it to a kid who looked like he needed it more than Darrah did. If asked, the Dryad freshling would deny doing so categorically. He had a reputation to maintain as a prankster after all.
Nasrin thought he caught a glimpse of Darrah doing something nice for someone else but he wasn't sure. Darrah didn't usually do nice things for others. Anyway, he shrugged it off as a sugar induced hallucination and decided to play a game of higher or lower. He managed to win five rounds in a row and got a small plushie nezubat!

Hadrian huffed when he lost another game. He wasn't doing all that great at the games, but he had gotten two familiars and a plushie so far so maybe he was doing pretty good overall.

Ylli frowned a little at the keychain he got from his last game. It was cute, to be sure, but was that a hook for a hand? That was... weird, right? Well, Ylli thought it was weird, anyway.
Falan smiled a bit at the tissue ghost. Easy to make, and cute to look at. Maybe he'd teach Runaldi how to make some later, but for now he had this one to show her.
Weird looking doll, but okay. It could keep company with her other toys. She would be sure to think of a good name for it, and put it in her pail in the meantime along with a plushie.
Hitotsu sighed softly and sincerely hoped this goop was more harmless than it looked. Not that he planned to keep it for long, but he'd dispose of it later when Shisume showed signs she wanted to go home, which he hoped was soon. At least he'd also gotten a plush animal for her to cuddle.
It wasn't the first time something had broken in her possession, but it was the first time she wouldn't be chastised for it....she hoped. She looked up at her brother, but he was busy picking a stuffed animal. Something brushed against her and she looked over before she jumped back with a shriek of surprise and fear. "O-Oniisamaaa....! What is that?!" She wailed, terrified of the strange creature that was looking at her as if she had offended it. Hitotsu crouched down and put his arms around her protectively. "It's okay, Imouto. It's a vespercat." He assured her. "She won't hurt you."
Aurelia grinned and nodded in agreement with Meadow, wondering how in the world there were this many plushies out there to be given away at such a pace. She was digging into her mac and cheese when she saw the crystal ball rolling along the table. "Whoa.....I bet you're right! I mean, it may just be a toy, too, but it's still cool!" She was so wrapped up in the crystal ball that she didn't notice someone had clipped a cute keychain to her bucket.
Lural
Iolanthe giggled as she watched her glow necklace sway around her neck while she skipped around, looking up to make sure she wasn't bumping into anyone....but forgot to look at her feet and tripped over something. She looked back to see a cute little keychain sitting there with no owner.
Kohaku was blown away by the festivities and wondered if it was starting to overwhelm their familiars. Looking at Raisin, Seeker and now the pumpka they seemed to be calm. They decided to walk around a little at a slow pace just to make sure everything was ok. They passed someone handing out these keychains that looked rather adorable, Kohaku taking one to clip to their bucket.
Chidori happily licked the lollipop as she wondered if this could get much better. As if on cue someone put a strange looking goblet into her bucket, provoking an eyebrow raise from the kumiho. One of the other freshlings told her that those were pretty cheap and broke easily but if she was careful then it could make a nifty decoration for her dorm.
“that’s good, after all my expertise is more in vespercats, pumpka and nezubats I have to admit” Vanna stated giving a small teasing sigh, although from what he had seen that revenant was a bit different from the others he had seen. ah well it would match his friend that was certain. Vanna drew himself from his thoughts and then hid a smile when Kingston was his normal self and started playing with the crystal ball. “Remember I’m with you so whatever answer it gives you we should probably do the opposite.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Oh no I’m terribly bad at dancing. I would just step on everyone’s feet and it would be bad and…” Mai blushed. Sure enough when she had been growing up she’d just start the dance on Vanna’s feet one because that way she could stop stepping on him and he was older and tall enough that she had to anyways to be the right height. She kind of pitied any one that dated her brother. He was on the tall end for Chimera. “Some-” whatever she was about to say was cut off as someone ran up and handed her a plushie for apparently being cute. She smiled weakly at Ren’s face. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “I think I recall a dance yes” Ren stated although he was like Mai in that he wasn’t a good dancer which was strange for a Fey yes, but at the time no one had wanted to dance with him and he wasn’t confident to just go out and dance by himself. However he definitely wasn’t going to bring the group down and kept that fact to himself. Of course he couldn’t help the slightly goofy held in look that crossed his features with another person gave mai a plushie because she was cute. At this rate he was going to have to go buy a plushie himself…. Actually he should go buy a plushie himself to give to mai. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Oops that’s my fault. I mean to say that I preferred Mirrors over Haunted Houses, since I don’t find Haunted houses scary. They’re more silly then anything. My comments were towards haunted houses. ” Salem tried to clear up. “However truthfully I don’t really mind what we do. so I was saying either would be fun. Ah well I’m not really in a costume but people seemed to like yours. We could go check it out.” And he could laugh at some of the costumes.
This time though when they were walking he spotted the plushie before he tripped over it and with his good foot kicked it up and grabbed it.
"Ok, that makes a lot more sense." She waved it off. "Sorry I was confused." She really had thought that Salem was afraid of the house of mirrors. "Well, i you don't mind, I would like to check out the costume cont-" She stopped and blinked as someone placed a candy in her hand. It looked like poo. She blinked slowly at it then looked at Salem for a moment. "I would like to go to the restroom first, since this is not wrapped and is quite sticky. Then I would like to check out the costume contest."
Kingston:
He listened as Mai said she would step on everyone's feet. But he grinned and shook his head. "I could teach you. Or at least teach you some simple dances where you wouldn't really worry about stepping on people's feet. Or you could just stand on my shoes." He suggested.
Kingston saw someone hand Mai another plushie and laughed. "By the end of the night, you and Vanna can just pile the stuffed animals into your closets and hide. No one would ever find you." He shook his head before finding a plush bat and lollipop placed in his hands. "...And I could do the same! Thanks kid!" Kingston called out to the retreating kid who gave him the plushie.
"So what do you guys say, want to check out the dance?" He wouldn't force them to, but it would be fun. At least he though.
Vega:
Vega saw a sign that seemed to indicate there would be scary movies in one of these tents. He looked around to try and find which one. Maybe it was the one handing out popcorn in little gloves. How cute! He wandered up to see about getting in. The person at the enterance handed him a plush bat as well as the popcorn saying that if the movie was too scary, he could always hide his face in the plushie. Vega might have been offended by that if he hadn't just taken a bite of very VERY stale popcorn. Ick.
Meadow:
"Maybe the plushies are made by magic." He finally shrugged. He really didn't care. He had SO MANY now! And it made sense, given... well... the night. Meadow pushed the thoughts out of his mind for now. "It would be cool if the crystal ball were real. If I get good at divination or enchanting, maybe I could do something with it!" That might have been a little ambitious though. He started digging into his food again, and didn't notice that while Aurelia was being given a little keychain, he was being slipped a lollipop.
Charon:
He decided to start inspecting his haul. Rock. Rock. Rock. Candy. Junk. Rock... really, who gives out ROCKS on a night like tonight? He started putting things back in his bucket, when he noticed there was a lollipop, and a strange looking... was this a litch? An elf? The ears were all wrong... Well, he put it in his bucket anyways.
Keahi:
Keahi was starting to feel unamused with this festival. Was it all about getting stuff? They couldn't decide how they felt about this. And when people weren't getting hoards of treats and candies, others were playing pranks on them. Was that the point of all this? That couldn't be. Surely they needed to ask a teacher about this. While pondering the meaning of the haunted hallows, they didn't notice a creepy turnip being dropped into their bucket. They did, however, notice when they stepped on a strange plush thing.
Parfait:
There were so many different treats! There were games, and plushies, and candy and sugar and chocolate and familiars and-
Parfait maybe had a little too much sugar for one night. They were bouncing off the proverbial walls (and a few literal ones) So many good things to try! She found a packet of gum on the ground. It wasn't... exactly candy, but she put it in her basket anyways. She could chew it when she did her homework... next week... yeah.
Fiona:
She maybe wasn't as... excitable as some of her classmates had been. Sure, she was enjoying the festivities, but really, this so overwhelming. Fiona sat down to collect herself. She wiped a hand across her face before searching her pockets for one of her salves. She was drying out a little. As she started rubbing the faintly vanilla scented lotion onto her skin, a little fennekit crept out of the bushes and slowly sniffed her shoe. She watched it as it got closer, then settled between her legs and yawned. She smiled at it. She would take it home.
Sound Lee liked the next house, with its underwater grotto theme. The treats they got, which for Sound Lee included a stuffed rabbit, sealed the deal. Best house so far! Well, besides the ones with rats...
How was it that after an argument, the three of them could have such luck? The next house gave Aura and Lee each a regular-sized stuffed animal (not a tiny bat), and Ved got a bag of candy, which was also, quite literally, sweet.
Zalir got the next riddle, which zey answered correctly. Sadly, the prize was...sort of not worth it. It was a handful of pretty nasty candy.
Chries got the next riddle correct as well, although his prize was better than Zalir's--he got a pumpkin lollipop. "Let's split these when we get home," he murmured to Zalir.
Ved loved that house as well. Candy corn? In a bag with a purple ribbon? Definitely a good house. He considered making a map to this place for next year...
The next booth made Travesty a little weirded out, did they just give him poop candy? How weird...
Facade, however, was really happy with her prize. She held it up, the color seeming to swirl around in the little glass ball. She grinned, thinking of all the things she could do with it...
Banshee wasn't quite sure what the little thing on the keychain was supposed to be, but it was actually kind of cute.
Taboo was holding onto his sister's hand when he saw the fluffy cat approaching him. It batted playfully at his other vespercat's tail and then nuzzled up to Taboo's hand as if to say hello.
