"Well thats a priority that we have to uphold everyday is it not?" he said to Shun.

He got up and used his net on another spot not to far from where he was. He dipped his net back into the water hoping to catch something.

It wasn't that far too the Inn, but it must have been difficult when you were freezing..bunch of slow pokes. It didn't help he wasn't exactly up to running at that moment. Even if he could. "Here we are, leggo you two." Alec gently shoo'd at the blonde when Preacher called for his or Zinny's help. Not trying very hard as the other wasn't in any real danger. He had raised his voice to the small group, trying to give Preacher and Axel something to focus on before all hell broke loose again.

Tala had gone quiet her teeth clashing together furiously. Poor girl...he was just glad she was ok. He gently touched her arm smiling. Before looking back at the quarreling pair. They kept staring at each other funny...maybe they hated each other so much they actually liked one another? Alec wasn't so sure. It was almost like they did, but at the same time..he really wasn't that experienced in such things. Shaking his head in wonder, the fiery red head smiled warily, shooing them all inside.

"Axel, here." he pushed some coin into the blondes hand without asking. "I've got a few things to do, but this way everyone is settled. I hope you all don't catch a cold.." He noted hopefully anyway, apologizing to the Inn keeper as his dog he was debating calling Lady or Serenity (he had yet to make up his mind) tried to come inside to greet everyone.

"It was nice meeting you Zin, Preacher. Tala, Axel, take care ok?" he asked in earnest casting his two friends a look before waving in a small gesture of good bye. For now anyway. Alec was sure he'd see them again soon.

HInt
The last debris is "Splintered Wood Boards".

Having heard about the commotion of people falling in, Lloren arrived at a jog with the many folds of a fishing net thrown over her shoulder bouncing as she ran up the canal's side. When she arrived, however, the trouble appeared to be over, with a few very wet people around or leaving. "Awww," the trainee said to herself, before giving a nod and a wave to Zin, who she recognized from the inn before. She addressed her as she was walking away.

"Mind if I ask for an update? And- heyy! That's a fair bit of stuff you've cleared from the canal." She reached to her hip, where that booklet she usually carried was pinned under the belt over her pants, and began checking off large or risky items that had been reported missing.

"In general, yes. But I would not be surprised if the nobles or the better privileged have considerably easier time of it."

Another empty net. Shun idly wondered if fishermen had a better time catching their prey than the luck he was having right now. He supposed if he were willing to go diving he might be able to find some things, but he wasn't stupid. If he jumped in, he wouldn't be fairing any better than the lot that had just come out of the water not long ago.

"Bah."

This was a waste of time.

He turned towards Llhoren as he got up to his feet, then shrugged.

"Most of the s**t's been cleared, I think."

Turning, about to leave the red head blinked, hearing a voice from behind. Recognizing Lloren from the other day, Alec bobbed his head a bit in response. "Yes m'am." He addressed her politely eyes a bit wide as he opened his mouth to reply again. "People landed in the canal, they were pulled out with my friends help here. Um." Alec didn't incriminate Preacher as having been the one to land two more bodies in the water. He paused a moment, ruffling the dogs ear beside him before continuing. "I think most of the mess has been gathered, a few stray pieces might be floating around. Otherwise not much else to report?" He questioned looking between the group he was with.

Looking back at Preacher the teen smiled a bit. "Preacher, when you get time maybe we'll have to see about your not being a drowned rat in water..Hm? Or go down by one of the booths? Same with any of you just yeah." he coaxed from the other. Anything to get them to not go at it again. Preacher seemed like a nice enough kid..just prone to temper fits. Nothing Alec couldn't handle, or roll with. Making additional friends was a good thing, and better than Axel and Preacher maiming the other.

Zin gratefully accepted a blanket and wrapped it around herself until she resembled a long-haired burrito. She grinned widely, reveling in the warmth of the inn and the blanket. "Thanks," she said brightly to Axel and Alec. It really was very kind of them to look out for them like this; they didn't have to go so far for their sake. It made her very happy to see people going to such lengths for her.

She nodded gleefully back at Lloren. Alec was filling Lloren in, so Zinnia decided to fill herself up with the food that the inn keeper had just delivered to their table. It was a delicious, hot vegetable stew; just what she needed. The more of the hot liquid she consumed, the more she felt re-energized and ready to get back to work.

"Is there time for the booths?" she piped up in response to Alec's suggestion. "I guess the canal is mostly cleaned up by now... But when is the parade starting? Do you know?" she asked, looking in Lloren's direction.

Shun couldn't help but just stare at Zin in silence. Did she seriously want to start the parade back up after the giant mess the last attempt caused?

"I more meant after the clean up and Parade...and just as a something to do in the mean time when we are all settled." He answered the blue haired girl with a gentle nod. Why was Shun staring so seriously? Did he really not want the Parade to happen after all this? They'd all worked so damn hard to clean it up, why not have the celebration. Events like this didn't happen that often in Shingashina..but then again it had been a huge ordeal so who could blame anyone feeling negative at this point.

"Really just because I'd like to actually have a chance to relax after all this chaos." He laughed, then cast a wondering look at the trainee, in response to Zinny's having asked. That was a great question, maybe he had time to run home and grab his kid sister? Then again she was under the weather, after having gone swimming in the cold water so perhaps not.

Lloren snapped her booklet shut, having taken down what she saw, and looked to Shun and Alec. Being called ma'am by one of the heroes du jour embarrassed her a little, but the trainee didn't say anything about it- she was too eager to express her admiration. "I should salute you two," she said, quick to deliver one that could have looked much more legitimate, uniform and all, if only she wasn't so chipper about it. "For saving all those people yesterday. Thank you both for the report."

"It seems everything that's downstream has been collected as well. All that remains are some wooden boards torn off the barge. And good to hear it wasn't some manner of conflict, am I right?" She might have guessed different, from having seen the wet Preacher. When they were involved, one had to wonder. Slapping the field parade marshal had been something that nobody would really think too hard about, but getting into a big fistfight of which Lloren had heard news multiple times that day when witnesses reported the violence to the parade volunteer booth... well, that was something else. Her gaze suddenly fixed on the navy-haired androgyne's upper arm muscles. They were everything she'd always wanted. Sweeeet.

Zin's question snapped her out of it, reluctantly. Her mouth began to water at the scent of food. "Supposed to resume tomorrow morning, from the sound of it. Are you still going to participate?" She asked, eyeing the food hungrily.

"Of course!" Zin grinned. "After all, we've been working so hard to do it! All I wanted was to be in the parade, so I'll definitely do it!" If the parade was about to start, she'd have gotten up then and there, drenched uniform and all. Luckily, it seemed that she'd be able to go back to the trainee barracks and fully recover from her recent plunge. "I just hope that nothing else goes wrong tomorrow..." she mumbled a bit less optimistically than usual for her as she ate another spoonful of the stew.

Shun shifted somewhat uncomfortably and glanced to the side as Lloren saluted him and Alec. He didn't consider himself to be a hero. Far from it, really. Most of the people he had helped out were from the military, and mostly because they might be saving his a** some day in the future.

"No clue. Didn't look until I heard the splashing," he shrugged in regards to her question.

A pang of hunger soon struck him, causing him to grit his teeth lightly in discomfort. He placed his hands into his pockets, then stepped back. The news that the parade was to resume in the morning was not really ideal to him. He found himself agreeing with Alec as far as getting some time to relax for once instead.

His face lit up a few shades of red at her saluting him. Alec wasn't even in the military yet, he didn't deserve such praise. Instead of looking dismayed, he tried to stand up a little taller. Not much, but it was something, less shoulders slouched. "I'll go take a look and see if I can find anything otherwise.." He muttered thoughtfully after hearing from Lloren what was still left.

Alec held his breathe a second when Lloren asked about the conflict. At least this time it hadn't been a fist fight, or brawl. "I wouldn't call it a fight or anything really. Just some mishap when Preacher hit the water. Nothing that wasn't wrapped up easily." He smiled gently, trying to dismiss the issue and get them in any real trouble. No one was injured, and everyone was safe, wrapped up and fed.

Alec looked at Shun seriously for one moment longer before glancing between those eating and then him. "Otherwise..I havent had lunch..I dunno about you guys but I can grab yours too and we can just sit down a moment?" He was trying to be generous, he wouldn't have a lot of coin for later, but he wasn't going to exclude the dark haired man. "I kinda owe you anyway Shun..you saved my a** when I clocked my face into the ground" he muttered sheepishly.

Preacher was too busy getting dry to pay much attention to anything else, but even she could feel Lloren's stare. Looking up, she winked at the trainee and smiled widely. "Jus' a bit o' an accident, Lloren." It was a relief to be finally dry.

"Curry boy, Shun, I ain't gonna finish these..." Preacher shoved two meat pies in front of her. The cold canal water had killed her appetite somehow. Axel had, thankfully, disappeared. "After this, I kin help ya look for that last thing."

Shun was just about to duck on out to try and find something to eat for himself, but paused before he could do just that. He found himself in a bit of a strange situation now. His pride didn't really like charity too much, but at the same time he knew better than to pass something like this up.

"All I did was haul your a** back to your feet," he said a little gruffly to Alec. Shaking his head, he eyed one of the meat pies Preacher had just denied.

"You sure about that?"

He'd take it if that was the case, but it struck him as odd that the boy wasn't really up to having food.

Preacher looked around to see if the innkeeper was watching. The coast was clear.

"Mmmm take it, Shun." Slowly, she reached in one of her pockets and pulled out a third, secret pie. It was wrapped in a scarp of cloth, but it was unmistakably a pie.

"I'm good."
